This is so refreshing. My experience is practically identical to that of Dr Adam other than I am a transgender woman not a transgender man. I became Christian long after I had my gender reassignment. I have been wrestling with God too. Thank you Doctor, I really needed to hear this today. I tried for years to be a cisgender male and was often suicidal also. Today I am clean and sober and I thank God for this. From now I will thank God for making me ' me' It's true I have overlooked this. You're correct, it's about surrender..I pray this comment helps somebody reading it..God bless us all 🙏
I used to attend a small house church with Adam in the 90's, when he went by Heather. I used to talk with him about theology and philosophy. He's one of the most profound and humane thinkers I've ever met. The one evening after church when he summarized his research on the spirituality of Appalachian women in the face of poverty, loss, and pathological patriarchy was life-changing for me. I've never forgotten it. He is a hero of the intellect and the heart. Honestly, no amount of TH-cam videos or debates about gender assignment, no number of hours watching his image on your little computer screens, can give you any idea what an ennobling experience it is to talk with him, or what an admirable Christian he is.
It's so disheartening and embarrassing to see how so many in our "Christian" community can hear this story and still respond with such judgment and lack of empathy. It's baffling to say the least. Even if you don't agree, there are ways to communicate that in love as Jesus would. Sadly, not much will change until more stories get told and more education exists...and perhaps a second, third, or fourth lesson on the meanings of love and kindness. All this hate just points to an incredible level of ignorance.
I'm all for nonjudgmental compassionate empathy. I want to see things from other perspectives, but LGBT activists want more than what I can give. They want me to believe that homosexuality and gender dysphoria are healthy properties. There's plenty of compassion for me to feel for people with those properties. But I still believe that only biology determines maleness and femaleness. The only kind of gender I believe in is grammatical gender. A trans-man is still a woman and a trans=woman is still a man. Homosexuality, which I study, is a psychological property caused largely by emotional hurts that prevent same-sex attracted people from identifying properly with their parents of their sexes. It's no a genetic trait. Same-sex attractions can diminish or even go away. When people with same-sex attractions feel happy, self-confident, good about themselves, they don't feel same-sex attractions. Or if they feel them, those attractions are weak ones that don't lead to homosexual activity.
@@williammcenaney6803 Being gay or transgender doesn't automatically make you one with the activists. There are gay and even transgender people who are political conservatives. From a Christian perspective, I think both can be regarded as afflictions that are the result of the Fall. You say that homosexual attractions can go away; but that doesn't mean they do, even when the person wants them to. That doesn't mean they must be acted upon; one can live without sex. In the case of transgender people, it's somewhat different. Frequently, the choice is to transition or be suicidal. Being transgender isn't so much about what you do, but about what you are, every waking moment of every day. That's the theory, anyway. Believing in God means believing in design; and there is a strong argument from design that God did not intend people to be homosexual or transgender, any more than He intended people to be born blind. Yet, it happens. Still, because of design, one could say that society should be both heteronormative and cisnormative, because society should promote life as it was meant to be. At the same time, a compassionate society will attempt to accommodate the afflicted as it can, without, however, compromising its commitment to design, or divine intent. This is not to say that homosexuals or transgender persons are people of lesser value; it is, rather, a statement about how society should be ordered, and that disabilities are not as desirable as function according to design. This is a hard sell to many people, because many people have difficulty separating themselves from their disability. They feel that criticism of their affliction is criticism of them personally.
I’m still a pre-op trans person who put my faith in God in my teens. Sharing the gospel with people gives me joy. What made me question self deletion was “God’s People” hating people like me. If the Holy Spirit is in these people and is alive then God hated me. I kept reminding myself of the gospel and chose daily not to listen to dark thoughts of the church hating me because Jesus loves me.
Im a trans woman living my life as a believer in christ, its so hard to find a true authentic space, i hope you found one love ❤️ if not just remember Jesus sees you and loves you, you do this for the sake of the kingdom of heaven ❤️
Jesus calls us to repent that does not mean anyone hates you. It means that God chastised those he loves including every9ne not just gay homosexual or people who say they are Trans. God wants us to be ourselves the way he made us in the first place not to pretend to be someone else. If you have a vagina at birth and a uterus or a womb you are a woman. If you have a or are born with a penis you are a man and testicles. So please Noone hates you. God is judging us all.
@@lillyembrack7112 if you believe in christ then you belive God made you to be who you were Born as. I would say read more of the Bible and see that God wants us male and female just the sex you were born. No change is needed God made you beautiful the way you were born . Not what you think you are. Godbless
MrMatteo125 what they are doing is being disobedient to the Lord Jesus and I have to agree with Shane Harvey - there are PLENTY of Spirit filled Christians who have CHOSEN through the power of the Holy Spirit to de-transition!
The problem in this comment section is that people don't realise how much this person was hurting. They battled with the issue for over 30 years and now they are telling their story. Why are you so aggressive. Please show some compassion. Have you not realised that this person was severely suicidal. I don't know if you ever felt suicidal or depressed but it's not a joke. By saying it's a sin you don't reach anything. This person is telling their life story. If you agree or not it's up to you, but please be a christian and show compassion and love. At least try to understand it somehow. You don’t have to agree. But by being so agressive it's like stepping on someone's already broken leg and then kicking it a couple of times. Would Jesus react in that way or would he talk and help that person.
@@lestihuff2091 If a child is born with a disease it is probably due to the sins of their parents or grandparents, causing them to be cursed. I believe we should still try to save the children but if it does not work them it might not have been the right thing to do.
In 2003 society had changed to the point where I felt safe to live in the gender I always felt I was in my heart. Being involved in a loving, spiritual community was a plus for the psychological eval before surgery. No regrets. And I feel even closer to God as Roberta than I ever did as Bob. .
Bianca - He looks like a man (in the video)... but was born a woman and now lives as a man. You couldn't pick that up? Read the note under the video... his name is Adam.
No one is born gay. It is a gay spirit! If God condemns homosexuality in his word and someone says that God is okay with a person being gay? That would make God a liar which he is not!
I was appalled by his utterance at the beginning of a service "I believe in the Holy Spirit and her timing." Thus gives me the impression this is a very liberal church and I'll just leave it at that.
I don't know whether this is a very liberal church or not; but reference to the Holy Spirit as "she" is not a new idea. There's a Wikipedia article on it, entitled "Gender of the Holy Spirit."
There are a lot of things in our lives (That God allows) that we are not happy with. If you were born Female and you want to be male you must live as God made you. Although it may be difficult.
So, if you were born with diabetes, should you refuse to take insulin? Same thing with wearing glasses, or any other medical problem that we actually do have treatment for. Gal3:28 "There is no male or female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
@anthonymaniacimusic2336 Agreed. There is no way to actually change your gender, though you can always change your body to make yourself *look* like the opposite gender.
God bless you Adam for sharing our Christian/Transgendered journey. So many Christians forget Gods love for us even when shown Acts 8:26-40 when Philip was told by God to baptize the Eunuch traveling on the road. We must pray that God removes the blinders from the people of our faith.
The video guy did a great job in capturing the real welcoming atmoshere for this very courageous, & enlightening speaker whose loving heart for her Christian faith really shown through!
For people who get mad at people who quote what the word of God say Is basically arguing with God and going against him and that's dangerous the bible is not going to accept sin because society does .

The word of God says nothing about transgendered people. And if you look at proper theological studies regarding the bible and its translations, you'll see that God does not condemn trans or gay, but rather condemns immoral acts such as loveless sex, rape, child molestation. And unnatural acts, which for a lesbian woman would be sex with a man. Or for a gay man, sex with a woman. If you're gay, then sex or marriage with someone of the opposite gender is unnatural. You are not following the bible. You are following other people, who also have not followed the bible or word of God. Do your research.. don't be a sheep, following uneducated ignorant nonsense.
Matthew 19:12 "There are eunuchs who were born that way from the womb; there are eunuchs who were castrated by men, and there are eunuchs who castrated themselves for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven. Anyone who can accept this teaching SHOULD accept it."
Leviticus 19:28 - You shall not make any cuts on your body [in mourning] for the dead, nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves; I am the LORD. Yet how many of you so-called Christians are sporting some kind of a tattoo? And if so, why are you preaching one part of the bible and condemning others with it as a weapon, but pretending the other part doesn't exist? You all do this. Condemn trans and gay because of the one part of the bible you want to uphold, yet avoid others as it suits.
I grew up in a Christian home I am transgender and I've been asking God for this for so long so so long I went to the beach I laid and I looked at the stars and said god I know you are there I feel you still because I got baptized I felt your Holy Spirit and I played for you in the altar you have used me I stepped down when I came out as tea gender but I love you and I still want to serve you but as nick why can't I love you like this show me show me how can I do this and this he gave me this so for you my Christian people that he didn't say scriptures he did he mention Mathew I believe that God loves me for me no God doesn't make mistakes he send me like this to be a blessing to others just as a transgender male I won't go to hell because the bible also says who that confesses with their tongue that I am they savior shall be saved so peace I have found my answer I've been asking from God this my door and I am taking it
Yes, God doesn't make mistakes. He made you as you were born. Don't be deceived. I want to be in heaven with you - as someone said "“If there really is no Hell, then it’s judgmental and unloving to tell people what they believe is wrong,” he explained to me early on. “But if you really believe there is only one way to Heaven, and it’s through faith in Christ, why wouldn’t I want to warn everyone I could?” He paused for emphasis. “This is the only way out.” We have to take the Bible as a whole - not in part.
Jesus Christ after he was crucified on the cross, and then rose from the dead did not come back as a woman, nor did his mother Mary then become a man after he ascended into heaven. Now you said that people need to understand this more, and no this does not need to be understood more, because of the fact that Jesus Christ was the son of God, who was born of the Virgin Mary, for this is an abomination to the meaning of decency. There are no two ways about this one, and that is that in the case of where one is to talk about a hermaphrodite, it is not a sin, because the truth is that the individual could not help being born with two different body parts, however willfully having a self mutilation done, is wrong, because that is clearly going against everything that God had done, for he created both a male, and a female for certain biological purposes! There yes this whole line of logic about being a transgender, and then claiming to be a Christian are wrong, because that is saying that God was wrong, and no God was not wrong, and yes there is a need to have laws that would out law transgender surgery, because it has nothing to do with what I mentioned about born with two different body parts, it is all about what is all about social convenience, and that is exactly what makes this absolutely wrong!
Sydney Piper Bristow That is not true, because there are absolutes, about right, and wrong, and yes it is right to say that there are people that don't want to have their taxes go to support anything that does involve promoting anything that does have to do with this business about transgenders. Don't tell me that there is some argument about beliefs, and that whatever I have mentioned involving how long this has been around for is absolutely right. Yes I do have a case to make that homosexuals, and bisexuals were around before, and during the time of George Washington, however it is also true that while there were men dressed in women's clothing before, and during that time, it is also true that there not transsexuals before, and during those times. Yes I know exactly what I am talking about on this issue, because yes I am talking about this junk involving hormone therapy, and yes that is a fact that no none of this was around before, or during the time of George Washington. There for stop using the claim of some so called argument. Yes it is true that there are natural rights, and that no having it where there is taxpayer funding, or any other funding for someone to have transsexual surgery, which is done purely for reasons of convenience is not in the realm of natural rights. Now being that someone were to talk about cases where someone was a hermaphrodite, and that is where someone was born with two different body parts, are the extremely rare cases, and that is not a true sex change operation. Make no mistake about this one, and that is that when someone is talking about what I have mentioned the doctor then does the essential tests that have to be done, because that is how they are then able to prove what body part will, and will not be removed, and that I do understand, which is more than reasonable. As for the rest of this other business involving what I have mentioned it is purely about what is, and what is not convenient, and that is just plain wrong!
The justification is always based off of the subjective experience of the individual vs the objective truth we find in scripture. Both are important however the identity in Christ calls believers to live a life devoted to Him (obecjtive truth). This explanation is important to hear. But hearing and believing are different things. Give respect and listening hear. But ultimately trust the conviction God gives through scripture.
Yeah or you can live in the reality of Gods creation and look at what is. Some people are made transgender; "some are born eunuchs". One can try and brush these people out, but it doesn't work, and society and they have tried.
A gender Binary is how God has created the world and God is not the author of confusion. Church ? What is this entity but a church that Jesus will or has taken their lamp stand away. Lord have mercy on us all in this world of hurt.
God saved me and lead me to transition so that I could start living a single life, not a double life. God, thank you ! 🙏 I am a light to the world, not the darkness I use to be.
So right off the bat, she admits to lying (saying she was "outed" when she wasn't) due to her emotional state at the time. An accurate (if accidental) representation of trans ideology. But moving forward... She brings up the notion of "feeling differently gendered", but this is an incoherent notion, as none of us have a basis for that comparison. We've all only been just the one gender, so we'd have no way of knowing the difference between "feeling like" a man vs. "feeling like" a woman, or indeed if there is such a difference at all. So you might feel like *something* is wrong, or be unhappy with your body, but that doesn't translate to being in the wrong body or feeling like a different gender. Could just as easily be the case that your mind is what needs to be corrected. Indeed, most cases of gender dysphoria in children don't even continue into adulthood (Cohen-Kettenis; Drummond, Bradley, Peterson-Badali & Zucker). The problem with the "brain structure" angle is at least two-fold: 1. Differences in brain size, shape, structure, and function are characteristic of many conditions of the mind. We don't say that therefore the subjects' beliefs are true. At best, we might say that this explains why they *hold* said beliefs. and 2. We all know that even a biological male with a so-called "male brain" would be accepted by these people as a woman if he only identified as one. So the actual science is quite irrelevant to their worldview. And it's curious that she said she "tried to live as a female". I wonder what she meant by that. Based on previous conversations with other trans people and advocates, she probably meant that she tried to adhere to the various gender roles and norms expected of girls/women but wasn't happy with those roles and norms. But she could have (and perhaps should have) simply rejected those expectations while still accepting the fact that she's female. Finally, I'd imagine that once someone has committed their lives to an incoherent worldview, having others go along with it *would* make them feel better (to the point of minimizing the increased suicide rate). But that doesn't establish that anyone *should* subscribe to transgenderism, or change how they speak or run their business, etc. in accordance with it. Indeed, those of us who reject this worldview from the start have the absolute best mental health. So love (as well as truth) would promote the rejection of modern gender theory, not the adoption of it.
"The actual science" supports gender affirming care. Just look at the clinical treatment outcomes. Conversion therapy has a long track-record of overwhelming failure, while those who transition report a satisfaction rate of over 90%. Read a real study some time.
@@ChristianCatboy ""The actual science" supports gender affirming care." Even ignoring the studies I cited, who would "need" this "gender-affirming care"? Only those who've bought into this incoherent worldview to begin with. Same for conversion therapy. Even granting that it's often/always a failure, there's no need for either of these options if people don't get the goofy idea that their gender is somehow different from their sex in their heads in the first place. And BTW, I put "gender-affirming care" in quotes because you can't actually affirm something if your concept of it is logically incoherent. So to even *possibly* build a good case for this worldview of yours, you need to be able to give a workable definition for "gender", "man" and "woman". But so far even the so-called experts consistently fail at this.
What does the church think of you identifying as a gay man? I am the opposite, I'm a MTF trans woman who is attracted to women and I identify as lesbian. And some ppl in the church have a bigger problem with be being a LESBIAN woman than they do with me being trans.
*Thank You* Adam!! I *very much* like how you presented yourself as sort-of "in-between" but best expressed as a man. I feel much as you have described yourself, only I have always been a (predominately) female person: I am a married Christian woman of transsexual experience, and I am simply open about who I am. In a similar way, I am a woman and sister who is also a husband and father. God is demonstrating His power through the "scandal" of my gender transition, and through my (long time) family and our "transgender marriage." Like you, God is blessing people who are watching: trans, cis, believers and pre-believers... ...We are a paradox to both the Christian and trans communities: to our fellow believers, they cannot reconcile how we can have an intimate, positive, saving relationship with Jesus AND be transgender - yet they see Jesus in us. To fellow trans folk, they cannot understand how we can love and obey a God who (they are vehemently told) despises them - yet they too see Jesus in us. Both groups are nourished by the good fruit of God's Spirit in us. Maybe part of the reason we are trans is to be planks in His bridge between our communities? Things are changing and God's Spirit is moving here as in other areas where the LGBTQ+ community are concerned: God is challenging people to prayerfully re-think the traditional view, interpretations and narratives, usually by bringing a winsome "other" person into their lives to where they are forced to reconcile the goodness and beauty of the person with the awful things they are told to believe about the person. Sometimes the "other" person is ourselves, as it was with me. BUT I have seen this change happening all over the world, and it has God's Spirit's fingerprints all over it!!! (His) Blessings & Joy!!
Well, at least in my case, God *allowed* me to be born this way... ...God recently pointed-out that my situation is much like the man born blind as recorded in the Bible (John chapter nine): people were assuming that to be born blind, that either you sinned or your parents sinned. Jesus was asked this very question about such a man, and Jesus said that it wasn't the man's fault or his parents, but THE AFFLICTION EXISTED SO GOD COULD DEMONSTRATE HIS POWER IN THAT PERSON'S LIFE. (and bless all those connected with this demonstration). Jesus healed this (adult) man born blind in an "untimely," dirty, scandalous, "ungodly" way... ...Likewise, with me, I didn't ask or sin to be born transsexual (or some form of intersex we are only beginning to understand), BUT here I am. God decided that ten years after I married, THAT would be the time in my life when my decades of repressing my transsexuality would fail, and I would require true healing. So God began to heal me through the "scandal" of my gender transition, and like the man, I was misunderstood by (most) fellow believers (both before and after my healing). YET, God demonstrates His power in me daily as I am blossoming into my fullness as His adopted daughter Brettany, and also in fullness as I become more Christike, AND He is using THIS life and the lives of my family members to demonstrate His ongoing power and grace: people, trans, non-trans, believers, pre-believers are all amazed at what God is doing, and many are blessed as a result... Though a number of Christians have scoffed, Christ has been central to my gender transition. And daily, God pours a Niagara Falls of grace over me to help me endure my body. (And He does this for my spouse and son as well.) Though some in the Church have rejected me, God never did and I am far closer to Jesus than I ever was - He has used my transsexuality to help me grow in Him... God is my judge; Jesus my salvation; Their Spirit, my comforter, teacher and assurance: they asked me to call them "my Love" and asked me if They could call me "Beloved." PS) I have found believers in community who can accept me for who and what I am, and even if they don't "get" me, the are willing to let God be God and appreciate how Christ works in and loves through me. :-) :-) :-)
Actually you can. God didn't start this disagreement, humans did. God is completely misunderstood, especially by people like you. The more you think you know what God wants, the further you are away from the truth.
To all trans christians: GOD loves YOu. The people don't represent him. The church doesn't represent him. He made you the way you are and if you're trans, THATS HIS PLAN FOR YOU!
Why would you spread this misinformation? You know full well that God doesn’t make mistakes. Of course he loves trans people but this is not a Christian message. God loves trans people but he doesn’t love their sin. Genesis 5:2 ‘When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God. He created them male and female and blessed them’
Ann Williams I appreciate your theological honesty and your thought process. We may not agree totally but you use the right filter of thought process to attempt to divide the word of truth.. Please keep doing that with prayer.
Is it possible God in His infinite wisdom decides to put a girl's soul into a boy's body? Is it possible this is part of His plan by which He tests some of us?
Well he did put Himself in a human body. God can do anything. God is real and Good. God believes in all of the people here that don't believe in Him. God's love will win over your stubborn hearts. That is who God is is. LOVE
I needed to hear this, my religious grandma, my whole family's Christian, just put me down for being bisexual, I havnt told her that I'm trans, but I'll know it'll get better and I have to trust God all the way.
May the LORD have mercy on you both for your shameful sickness and abomination to GOD . If you don’t repent you will be judged by GOD . SIN IS SIN PERIOD .
I did not hear a single piece of scripture throughout this entire thing, I understand she suffered psychologically living out here birth gender and thats sad but Jesus said we must take up our cross if we want to follow him, living as a Christian means submitting your life to God's will, she mentioned she almost died being a woman and then she gave up and decided to start living as a man, how does that glorify God?
+titeness Dude she was not well and she was going to commit suicide, How does THAT glorify God? Suicide, Depression, all that is not of God, It's of the Devil. I think because her case was so severe God would just have prefered she's be how she feels instead of taking away the breath of life he gave us.
What is sad is that certain Christians are non accepting & judgemental. I found out what has been WRONG with me. I've been living as rhe gender that I am not. OOOOMG, I have much more joy, peace, self love as a woman. I got started taking the steps late in life. I am 64, going on 36. Okay, I can rock out a bikini on my paddle board. I am a transgender certified personal trainer too. I am going through a difficult time spiritually. I sometimes doubt I am saved due to me being trans and negative judgemental statements from other Christians. Please pray that I may know I'm saved according to Scripture. If I was forced to go back to my gender based onmy on anatomy, my clinical depression would be off the chart. Yes, I did try to kill myself before. Becca
I personally, do not agree with this. God loves all people, yes. He loves gays, straights, trans... Because that's who he is, he is a loving God with endless mercy and grace. But we should not get that mixed up with him accepting sin. Yes he loves everybody, but God hates sin. And being gay, transsexual anything into that sort is not something that is of God and not something that God approves of. If you are a Christian and transsexual or dealing with homosexual tendencies, and you feel like it's God saying that he made you this way, I truly suggest that you go back pray on it, and get the real truth because God says it clear in scripture that any form of homosexual behavior or act is an abomination in his eyes. And I am one to talk, not about being a homosexual but a Christian who struggles with their sins daily, but what I do is I get on my knees and pray, I repent and ask God for new life everyday because we're human and we don't like to hear the truth sometimes...
+Ceanna Richardson You should stop talking lies. Trans people don't always like the same sex. So you have no knowledge of trans people! Everybody starts out as female in the womb and eventually they become male or remain female. Sometimes hormonal changes causes causes a child to be born intersex or to be born with a male body and a female brain. Male brains and female brains are not the same! People change the way " how they were born " all the time and you don't condemn them for it. Many women wear wigs, weaves, plastic surgery , fake nails , lightening their skin etc etc. So shut the hell up with your nonsense!
...your example is also frowned upon, we aren't suppose to be displaying and modifying ourselves, tattoos, jewels, etc. Also if we are all begin as female then that confirms that the transition to male that creates male children is permanent and the hormones that maintain said development are also used to develop the brain meaning that God designed you to develop into the gender you have and the brain you will have. Yet at the same time, the sins of parents and society effect children and their development both in biological growth and spiritual issues you'll have to deal with. Issues of sin relating to physical issues and mental issues thus can arise in sinful environments and influences while personal choices and spiritual blindness can isolate and protect said issues from being addressed. The fact that so many NEED the change of label and NEED to change their gender is a sign of the sinful nature underlying this. It's your duty to sacrifice your wants and desires to God so that he can replace your heart with new natures and wills, your image and self identity belongs to God and not you as a Christian. To refuse this is to exalt yourself above him and worst yet you've created idols out of both the Male and Female Genders and your flesh which is literally what your are claiming that it is godly to please. Old flesh dies to the New life Christ places inside of you, as far as this goes in sex... Well the fact is that Marriage is the only acceptable way to have sex and chastity is blessed by God in both genders. A union was expected to produce children, whom under Godly parentage will be likely to become followers of God's will and will (ideally) have benefited from the dual example the male and female couple represent as Christ and the Church. Christ is the husband and the Church is the Bride and in joining together they become one flesh and a Godly marriage is based on God's marriage to his believers to become one flesh. So crudely, Christ is not Bride and the Father and Holy Spirit came to join us, not themselves. The church cannot be married to itself, it needs the difference Christ provides and families were designed to utilize differences to enhance the work of God in them. If you are dealing with homosexuality and struggle with Faith, Id say first surrender yourself, your opinions, expectations and identity to Christ. Then become dead to your flesh through breaking free of sexual activity. If you are not practicing sodomy or impotent sexual acts then it'll help clear your head and these steps work for handling the biggest issues with this subject. If it is mainly a flesh issue you'll realize it here and if it is a spiritual issue or family sin then you'll be in a good play to know it as such. As for being transgender the issue see in this is in idolatry and rejection of God as your model of self in preference of a manmade expectation of self and God's creation. In short, if you are one gender and alter your body then you've denied creation and God's design for you.to be sanctified into. Now here is where it gets important, it is the physical alterations that secure this as a definite sin while simply wearing the other gender's clothing is another sin for which one may assume a repentant heart (though there are specific quotes warning that this among other sexual sins are damnable). The difference is in permanence and submission, as there is no difference between circumcision and this in that both represent your worldviews if you are biblical. Thus your removal or addition of gender is a pagan mock circumcision. Also we aren't suppose to modify or mess around with our sexual organs in the first place. The wearing of clothes may reflect the heart but in not being physical the work God can do much to bring your thoughts and attractions into frame. The sexual natures are definitely wrong, yet a transman and a transwoman could still avoid the larger sin of the full system in marriage and two men or women through chastity and submission can likely enjoy a union of religious approval and yet such decisions are spiritual risks because they still go against the natural order of development for mankind under God. Such unions will likely always be open for attacks from the enemy and will force alot of personal responsibility on the individuals involved yet no doubt the opposite of this is that the couple sin gravely. Now off course Grace and Mercy always play a part and God does work in mysterious ways but I doubt God changes his whole game plan lightly. You were created to celebrate and worship with the Lord, all humans are in his image and were created fro his joy. Our unions with other humans into groups, countries, couples, families should likewise reflect that we were created for him first and the people God works into our lives should point us towards him and completing this purpose. Being homosexual or trans shouldn't stop you from going to church or coming to Christ, yet in following Christ afterwards you will be asked to put aside your childish whims and wills in all parts of your life. If anything he is your only hope for living out your life to it's fullest even with these afflictions. Do not forget that God gives us over to our own reprobate thoughts and desires, your ideas on happiness of self (fixing that missing/I'm not myself feeling) are always limited by your past and by your ability to seek the work of Christ in revealing your sins and inability to be perfect or complete without him. Those matter more to God than giving you someone to sleep with or spend time around or in modifying/destroying your organs to fit in with the group you feel separated from within. You were first separate from God before you ever became separate from your "true gender/preference"
@@ytmndanYes, transgenderism is sinful. You essentially are telling God that He often makes "mistakes" in His creation. Thus transgenderism is necessary to correct these "mistakes" and get certain people "affirmed"in their "right" physical bodies. The last time I checked the Bible, God is perfect. Perfection does not yield mistakes. Ergo, transgenderism is sinful and to support it is essentially calling God, Who is infallable, a liar (hint: not a good idea).
@@haysbrickell9579 7 years ago, when I originally commented, it was merely a mental disorder. Mental disorders are not inherently sinful. But a lot has changed in 7 years. Gender dysphorics are now unable to obtain a legitimate diagnosis, and thus many supposed transgender people are actually autogynephilic fetishists. So I have rescinded my previous comment, as I did not understand the full nature of what was brewing beneath the surface at the time.
Thank you Adam. I am so thankful that you are free. We still have a way to go loving people as God loves each of us. Thank you for sharing your story. Bless you as you move forward in truth.
Look away from the screen and what do you hear? A male or female? Also, the bible explicitly states God created us in his perfect image. To change your own image puts into question whether you believe God's image is faulty.
If god doesn’t make mistakes then why did god make Adam? (the person in the video) and also he says that he talked with god and the church before making a decision.
HRT for female to males lengthen the vocal chords and deepen their voice. If this person decides to go through with HRT or has his voice would only be identifiable as male.

Thank you so much!! You give me a lot of hope! i'm still only 18 but I also feel like a man, a gay man. You give me hope to come out and live as myself.
Hello dear, can I ask you a question? How exactly do you define "feeling like a man"? Is there a concrete definition of how being a man feels like? I never understoood that. I'm a woman and I don't know how "feeling like a woman" feels like. If you mean that you feel more masculine than feminine, that I can understand but it still doesn't mean you're a man. Couldn't you simply be a masculine woman?
@@ashley_brown6106 I hope you'll forgive me jumping in, but I've heard this question a lot, and it's based on a misconception. No one know what it feels like to be a man or to be a woman, because no one has experience being anything but oneself. There's no basis for comparison. So, clearly, when someone says, "I feel like a man," they mean something else. I think what they mean is, "I feel more like myself when I think of myself as a man than when I think of myself as a woman." No one talks like this; most people not only speak in shorthand, they think in shorthand as well. But I think this is what is meant.
Lost it on the Holy Spirit -‘she’. It’s not about what you say, or what I say, it’s ‘What does the Lord say and we can’t add or take away from that. God is compassionate, loving, patient and forgiving but He is also a righteous judge and doesn’t wink at sin. God has given us moral laws to live by for our good as after all as our creator God He knows best. He isn’t a kill joy but truly wants us to be happy and prosperous but His way. And Jesus Christ can help us to live pleasing to God. So no matter what battles and trials we face, He does and will help us through them, we as Christian’s are not to avoid them, or live our lives to please ourselves. We are to take up our cross and follow Jesus if we do not give up self and our wants and pleasures for Christ than it’s self we are following. A church that preaches the whole counsel of God, brothers and and sisters to encourage, pray and support each other as a body of believers is what is essential to any faithful Christ centred church. 1 Corinthians chapter 6 v9-11 And such were some of you. But you were washed…. I say this not out of hate or to judge as I’m in no position to judge anyone but this is the truth from God’s word to warn us and to prepare us for His return in judgement and each one of us will have to give an account of how we have lived for Christ and to end evil once for all. For God doesn’t want anyone to perish neither do I. (It is with love and compassion that I speak out not to cause hurt but when you have a true encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ than your life will no longer be the same and you will no longer be the same but a new creature and nothing is impossible with God and He doesn’t make mistakes or leave you to yourself to go it alone but Christ holds you there when you are truly ‘saved’ ‘born again.’)
I appreciate your effort to be compassionate on this. However, I would urge you to look deeper into the science of what we know so far about being transgender. This is not a choice. The only choice is to NOT do something about it. Additionally, who is anyone to say that any individuals experience with the Christ of ALL THAT IS is invalid based on our own finite experience and knowledge? God's love is way beyond our understanding.
@@lestihuff2091 Thanks for your gracious response to this sensitive topic. God’s word is full of the science, nature, creation which God revealed thousands of years ago and we are only discovering are just as God said. Because God created us He knows what is best for us. When we prayerfully study God’s word we discover His nature, His opinions, His values. He will point out our problems and weaknesses, but more than that show us how to deal with them, His way. Nothing what I write is my opinion as I have nothing to recommend me but a sinner saved by God’s grace, but what God Himself has revealed and He is not a God of confusion. Before sin entered the world God said everything was good no evil, death, tears, pain, suffering. Adam and Eve had perfection in the garden of Eden, and only one thing was out of bounds, the tree of knowledge of good and evil. But we know they did eat of the tree and sin entered into the world and even their son Cain committed the first murder of his own brother. And here we are today in all its suffering and wickedness, the consequences going against what God says. Since that day a barrier between sinful man and God was set up. But God in His compassion and mercy made a way for us to have that barrier removed. That is to be ‘born again’ ‘saved’. That is to tell God we are sorry for living a sinful life for self, thank Him for Christ Jesus dying on the cross to take the punishment we deserve, to ask for His daily help to live pleasing to Him as in His word the Bible. Than we will be part of God’s family and have assurance of where we will spend eternity. God has prepared a place for those who know and love Him in the new heaven and earth. Just perfect how it was before sin entered this world. Where no evil dwells, no sickness, pain, death, tears, or suffering. But until then we can know sins forgiven and the peace, love, joy in this life that only God can give, especially at this uncertain, chaotic time. We are seeing Bible prophecies unfolding before our very eyes and the Lords return in not too far way. So we must be right before Him before He returns in judgement. As we are all sinners before God, we all must accept God’s free gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ the Saviour, that’s why He came to make a way to be righteous before a righteous holy God. We all have battles of various kinds, and when we accept Jesus Christ as our own personal saviour God helps us with these struggles and battles. The Bible is full of men, women who struggled just as we do today. So as with any problems and struggles we may have God is able and willing to help. We only have to look at the list in the New Testament where there are a list of sins that people struggled with but once they were ‘saved’ ‘born again’ no longer had those desires or battles. Today is no different only that what God calls sin has been accepted as the norm today. We are not to accept what God calls sin because we in our own strength can’t fight them, we are to accept we have them and accept we can’t fight them on our own and that’s what God can and will do if we really want His help. God is the same yesterday, today and for ever, no matter what man says. There are many testimonies of lives changed from all kinds of addictions, trials and battles. With prayer, encouragement, support, fellowship with other believers is a great start. I understand the battles within for some people are more than they can bare and know personally as my husband is one who struggled with this, but God has and will continue to help us with all our battles as He is so faithful and not a disappointment to those who know and love Him. So no matter what they are God can give us new desires, thoughts no longer held captive to our sins. Problem with today is we mold God into who we think He is, but we find according to scripture, He is a compassionate, patient, merciful Father God, but He will not wink at sin as He too is a most holy, righteous God who hates sin. When we come to hate our sin too it’s easier to keep from them. What’s impossible for man is possible with God as myself, husband and countless others are a testimony to that. So you see sin is so serious in Gods eyes so much so that it will send us to a lost eternity forever or we will fall at the Saviour’s feet in repentance. God has made a way possible out as He doesn’t want anyone to perish and neither do I that’s why I say what I do, not to cause offence but to warn of the terrible consequences otherwise, not just with trans but all sinners not saved. Even if I offend for saying it but I’m more concerned for souls saved from a lost eternity than what people think of me, and if I tell the truth of what God has revealed about Himself it’s up-to the individual what they do with it, to dismiss it or take it on board it’s what God has revealed about Himself. 🙏🌺🙏
I mentioned this to someone else, but just in case you haven't seen it ... Referring to the Holy Spirit as "she" is not a new idea. There is a Wikipedia article on it, entitled "Gender of the Holy Spirit."

God didn't make a mistake when He made you a woman. We need to trust in God and lean not on our own understanding. Who the son sets free is free indeed and He will set anybody free who puts their trust in Him.
people always say" the scripture says this and blah blah blah," God doesn't accept this", when really how are any of us so sure the Bible is complete? how do we know what God thinks, do you think he can't change his mind?
Hello? I absolutely agree. What about the great flood? What about the blood of Christ and no more need for blood sacrifices from animals? Don't tell me that God does not evolve with us. What would relationship mean otherwise?
How do we know the bible is complete? Because the Word of God says it is complete. How do we know what God thinks? We know what God thinks by reading the Word of God. Do you think he can't change his mind? We know God cannot change his mind. God declares, “I, the LORD, do not change” (Mal. 3:6). He is “the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow” (James 1:17). When God makes a promise, He swears by Himself and so stakes the surety of His word on Himself. It is God’s unchangeableness that guarantees the unchangeableness of His promises and that gives us strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us (Heb. 6:13-18). To whatever extent God could change His mind, our confidence in the unchangeableness of His promises would be destabilized.
We are living Heaven on Earth. "On Earth as it is in Heaven". You don't have to wait for the 2nd coming. Jesus himself said the end times are near. Relax, breathe, be still and know.
I also forgot to mention Since Jesus Christ himself identified as a male, but he lacked a Y chromosome it would be hypocritical for any Christian to have a problem with transgender people.
I appreciate the story but to anyone reading this that happens to be struggling with the same issue, gender confusion is not from God, it comes directly from Satan and can be worked through between you and Christ. There is a way out. Please don’t let Satan win!

Well since science proves that he made them that way, that means he did intend for them to be transgender. And please explain to me where scripture says ANYTHING about transgenderism.
As of today and here in Texas, we are still very narrow-minded there are only two sexes and gender should be removed and now the Federal Government is trying to do that.
Yes Praise God for who we are, I have the body I always wanted. How do you know that the Holy Spirit is not feminine? This idea is not new. Wikipedia has an article on it, "Gender of the Holy Spirit." You might want to take a look.
Yes the Holy Spirit is not female. Those that think so like this clergy are taking things out of context based on etymology because the Hebrew origin was based on the word Shekinah which is a female form. However that is common to other languages as well. The word means the divine presence of God. We also know him as Christians as the the Holy Spirit is called also Ruach hakadesh breath of God.
@@selahchunem8447 I'm out of my wheelhouse. My reference to Wikipedia was for an introduction to the subject, in the likely case that it was unfamiliar. The article notes that ruach is also feminine, and is translated in the Greek Septuagint as pneuma, which is neuter. Parakletos is masculine. The article does say that the pronouns used to address the Holy Spirit are masculine, though I'm unclear exactly what is being referred to. Arguments from the gender of words is theologically weak, in my opinion, though I would not regard that as conclusive. Tradition is, of course, valuable. I'm not sure God Himself cares all that much, but I could be wrong.

But the sooner we hear gods truth and accept it the sooner we get to fully recieve all God has for us. I simply believe that homosexuality and Christianity are just incompatible. They are not something that go hand in hand, and just do not fit together. So as a Christian I was sent here to love everybody just as Jesus loves us, but that does not mean as Christians we should okay with sin, not just the sin around us but any kind of sin even our own. So do I believe that Adam Ackley loves God...yes. But do I actually believe that what he believes is true to gods word. No. But I don't know his heart. Or any of yalls. But I do know that gods word is truth and we need to take heed to the things that are clearly not a gray area. And homosexuality... (Trans, ect. ) is not one, it is clear that it is a sin and an abomination.
I believe that homosexuality and christianity are incompatible too. Homosexuality is a measurable part of human existence, it's a real thing whereas, the belief in supernatural beings is nothing more than a crutch for those who reject reality, at worst this is stupidity and at best simply the refusal to grow up.

Don't let his theology
Fool you
I used to attend a small house church with Adam in the 90's, when he went by Heather.
As a “backslid” Christian, now a very spiritually inclined individual, this nearly brought me to tears. Thank you for sharing

All this hate just points to an incredible level of ignorance.
the shyt is wrong no if ands or butts

Why is any Christian still quoting Leviticus like it still applies to us?

Yes, God doesn't make mistakes. He made you as you were born. Don't be deceived. I want to be in heaven with you - as someone said "“If there really is no Hell, then it’s judgmental and unloving to tell people what they believe is wrong,” he explained to me early on. “But if you really believe there is only one way to Heaven, and it’s through faith in Christ, why wouldn’t I want to warn everyone I could?” He paused for emphasis. “This is the only way out.” We have to take the Bible as a whole - not in part.
this is so real and people need to understand it more
the shyt is against god
This experience is akin to my own. Thank you for sharing, 10 years on its still helping people.
Ann Williams. OK I appreciate your exegetic response. I also appreciate your open mindedness on the topic.. Thanks for your clarification and input.😊
God created Eve from Adam's rib. Adam's rib has male DNA. So, Eve was a transgender woman.
"There is no male or female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus" - Gal 3:28

@@WillowWasp , thank you. I wish I could meet the man who spoke such clarity in this video.
The problem with the "brain structure" angle is at least two-fold:
@@ChristianCatboy ""The actual science" supports gender affirming care."
Even ignoring the studies I cited, who would "need" this "gender-affirming care"?
The person in the beginning with the dog collar on? Was he dressed like that on purpose? His shirt hanging open!
*Thank You* Adam!!
I *very much* like how you presented yourself as sort-of "in-between" but best expressed as a man. I feel much as you have described yourself, only I have always been a (predominately) female person:
I am a married Christian woman of transsexual experience, and I am simply open about who I am.
God is my judge; Jesus my salvation; Their Spirit, my comforter, teacher and assurance: they asked me to call them "my Love" and asked me if They could call me "Beloved."
PS) I have found believers in community who can accept me for who and what I am, and even if they don't "get" me, the are willing to let God be God and appreciate how Christ works in and loves through me. :-) :-) :-)

Hang in there. "The Spirit testifies with our spirit that we our God's children"... even if "with groans that words cannot express".
If god say it’s a sin then it’s a sin. He even destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for it
He want change because society think it’s okay
Do you have any tattoos?
Do you have Turners?
There is a Wikipedia article on it, entitled "Gender of the Holy Spirit."

people always say" the scripture says this and blah blah blah," God doesn't accept this", when really how are any of us so sure the Bible is complete? how do we know what God thinks, do you think he can't change his mind?

The Holy Spirit is not feminine. God's word is final we can not twist it to suit our own sin and agenda's. Who is going to tell the world the truth when the so called church refuses to teach it. The fear of the Lord has been replaced with a fear of man.

I cannot imagine why anyone would want to be a christian, especially LGBT ones.
I believe that homosexuality and christianity are incompatible too. Homosexuality is a measurable part of human existence, it's a real thing whereas, the belief in supernatural beings is nothing more than a crutch for those who reject reality, at worst this is stupidity and at best simply the refusal to grow up.
