@@syntheticsilkwood2206 the genius annotation explains it well: Lorde uses the story of “Jack and Jill” to sum up the story of a relationship. In the nursery rhyme, a boy and girl suffer some kind of misfortune. In the most commonly told version of the rhyme, they fall down a hill. In Lorde’s case, the misfortune is the fallout of a relationship that began in a state of euphoria. Too many times she has seen this drama play itself out. Two people meet, become infatuated with each other during a fun-filled and alcohol-fueled weekend, but then reality sets in. When the weekend is over and both parties involved go back to their daily lives full of obligations and responsibilities, things just don’t seem as fun. The two begin to see each other in their regular routine lives, which isn’t anything like the shiny, carefree nature in which they met and have, through no real fault of their own, based the entire relationship upon.
It's unhealthy the amount of times I come back to watch this reaction even though it's already 2019.I literally have all of Ajay's comments memorized by now
Palacios Palacios yeah I mean it’s probably top 50 ever. It’s 100% the best pop album of the decade. It’s in my top five fav albums but not my top five best
There's no way you can dislike one of the songs of melodrama. Every time that I say I'm not a fan of a particular song I give it a second chance and the magic happens all over again
Samuel Johnny OHMYGOD RIGHT? I didnt like Homemade Dynamite that much when i first heard it but i listened to it again and now its one of my favorite songs!!!
At first I didn't like The Louvre, but lyrics have always been the most important to me, so when I heard some of the lyrics, I gave it another chance and it was amazing. I love that instrumental at the end.
The only song that caught my attention when I first heard the album was Hard Feelings (I hate the Loveless part). But now, every single song is my fave.
Maybe it’s obvious, but I have yet to see anyone point this out. In Green Light when she says “She thinks you love the beach, you’re such a damn liar | well those great whites they have big teeth | hope they bite you” she’s calling his “white” lies great “whites” like the shark saying she hopes his lies come back to bite him, like a shark lol. Also sharks obviously live in the ocean and he lied about liking the beach. That line is SO GENIUS
knowing she has chromesthesia (sound-to-color synesthesia, means she see sounds as color) i could only imagine what her songs looks like, it must be explosions of color. It surely helps her with songwriting, wow I'm so jealous of people who has this :((
Felipe Reblora I have this and melodrama is the most colorful album I’ve ever listened to. The album art portrays the colors SO WELL !!! So much pink, blue and orange all throughout the album.
I think I might have it but i'm not sure. I get feelings of certain songs being certain colors and patterns like green light being a sharp green in a flowing line sort of way, and the louvre being a dark purple mixed with black but then transitioning into a gray and soft yellow at the end. Is this the sort of thing that people with chromesthesia have? I'm not really sure because sometimes these are very faint and hard to process and for some sounds and songs, I just feel it as black and white.

I have been listening to this album on repeat since release, and that is no exaggeration. I have not yet grown bored of it and I was shocked to discover that I do not dislike a single track on it. Usually, on an album, there are a few songs that I just can't get into, so I skip them, but I absolutely adore every track on this album. That's rare for me. Bravo, Lorde!
Melodrama can’t be described. Hard Feelings/Loveless is simply a mystical experience, it makes me cry. I think Melodrama is Lorde’s masterpiece. I’m happy with Solar Power and enjoyed her third album as well because I felt a more “grown up Ella”, but this album makes the emotions of a human being supernatural.
Solar Power is nice but there's something about Melodrama that no album can replicate except folklore maybe. I mean when Solar Power came out I knew it couldn't be better than Melodrama. I doubt Lorde will ever be able to produce something better than Melodrama.
Lorde is one of my favorite artists ever. Pure Heroine is my favorite album of all time. I saw Lorde’s melodrama tour and it was an unforgettable experience. Super underrated artist and performer.
I think the reason I keep coming back to this reaction over and over is because I wish I was able to experience Melodrama for the first time, and since I can't, I turn to this video to get a taste of what it was like.

It's out. Her reaction though 💀
@@wildnfearless9840 CRYIJGJTFJFJFJFJJFGJTJGJGJ ... definitely something
Melodrama is iconic. And liability kills me everytime
The fact that this is still so relevant in 2020 is saying something about that album
RIGHT
2021*👏🏼
albums don’t expire that quickly?? melodrama is a coming of age album, it’ll always be relevant
@@nikolasscheeks a lot of albums are forgettable though
girl this album is an inspiration for all those basic music dolls out there... ok I might be wrong but... yeah
I always feel like crying listening to sober, its exciting but it has a deeper meaning about life and how fast it goes by and the memories you miss
Robert Smith Sober ll does it for me 💀💀
You should go listen to Pure Heroine by her
Like Ribs!
I rewatch this reaction every once in a while for clear skin
I have been listening to this album on repeat since release, and that is no exaggeration. I have not yet grown bored of it and I was shocked to discover that I do not dislike a single track on it. Usually, on an album, there are a few songs that I just can't get into, so I skip them, but I absolutely adore every track on this album. That's rare for me. Bravo, Lorde!
The Almighty Bean I'm still listening to it!! It's so so so good 😩
The Almighty Bean it's one of the most complete albums I have ever heard, so good!
Melodrama and After Laughter are the only albums I listen to these past months. Melodrama is a masterpiece that I'll never get tired of listening to.
Your reaction/commentary is amazing! I was literally searching for Lorde to see what other ppl think of the album and that's how I found you.
btw you should do SZA's album next it's another masterpiece album
Amori M. Same!!!
Lorde and SZA saved 2017
Lorde is white Sza and Sza is black lorde
ajay's best reaction videos:

now 4. blackpink album
@@elifpamuk55 Not even folklore, and you know it
LORDE WE NEED U HONEY... when you’re ready
We really definitely do❤️❤️❤️
she's in Antartica with the penguins rn lmao

Lorde is one of my favorite artists ever. Pure Heroine is my favorite album of all time. I saw Lorde’s melodrama tour and it was an unforgettable experience. Super underrated artist and performer.
Ayanna Squires yes yes 100% agree, I saw her as well and it was a surreal experience I could not stop dancing and singing along.
This is genuinely a comfort video, guaranteed smiles ever since it dropped :)

This video is STILL my ultimate source of happiness even in dec 2020
Why?? Help, why is this reaction video so loved
I watch this at least once a month - it brings me joy lmao
I think the reason I keep coming back to this reaction over and over is because I wish I was able to experience Melodrama for the first time, and since I can't, I turn to this video to get a taste of what it was like.
Alejandro Lugo Yep! Same here.
Oh my god THIS
ABSOLUTELY!
For me Lorde can just say boom boom boom boom and I'll think it's pure genius just like in The Louvre
I came back here after her tragic reaction to Solar Power Album just to cleanse my soul
