People really should not pass up the Herta store light cones, which can be a lot more flexible if you want the stats of a 5 star light cone.

I think really the only bad one in there is Nihility, it's trumped by Sampo's signature. I have Sampo's signature on him funnily enough, and they have an almost IDENTICAL passive - key difference ? The herta store 5-star only gives the DoT boost for 2 turns, while Sampo's sig is permanent. People call the 5-star his best-in-slot because it's shiny and a 5 and provides about 100 more atk, but you can make up for that atk with his relics anyways. Better to take that 100 atk loss over biting your DoT in the ass.
@@CoffinsApricity I don't have sampo's signature, so I've got the 5 star herta cone on my Guinaifen. Seems to do decent enough.
@@KiranasOfRizon It's decent enough, it's just the DoT boost only lasting 2 turns is a huge letdown when Sampo's sig has it permanently.
@@CoffinsApricity I agree with you, except your suggestion that you can make up for a light come lack with relics. Why aren't you wearing those relics anyway? No, it's simply that the atk loss is an acceptable trade for the DoT boost. But yeah, I hear the Nihility one isn't popular, although if you have all the rest, you may as well buy and SI that one too, you know?

Yah and theres also a word "Flexible" which was his point. Hes basically just speaking from experience since other hoyoverse games also has signature weapons whereas its not as restricted as it is to just one character.

@@raaaanndyyyy but that's why the whole counter to that point is defining the word SIGNATURE.. it means the item should NOT be flexible.. that's why you have 4 stars.. weaker items but more universal.. what's the point of creating multiple strong items if one of those is universal..? Just use the universal one then and never use the others.. that's how things should be.. you can be really really good in one thing but suck at the rest.. or you can be mediocre at everything.. variety becomes obsolete if one thing is really really good at everything..
Signature should be a perfect fit for their respective 5 star but not completely niche for the other characters. Sparkle's light cone is good but literally can only be used on her.

My welt has not even 150 cd or 70 cr and his skill is at like level 4 or 5 and I'm hitting some pretty decent numbers, I think the highest I got was 70k total

GGZ and Hi3 all have restriction on sig, I would say Genshin actually bad at balancing Sig weapons and their restriction and now it can be used on most characters.
Sig weapon is supposed to berestrictive, the whole argument cause Genshin exist is invalid cause they are the only one that have flexibillity.
Good on Genshin, but if most 3* food place is average, and then one 3* food place is actually better than the rest, it's either:
1. It's not comparable to other 3* food place, or;
2. It's supposed to be compared to other 4*/5* food place.
TL;DR Sig weapon supposed to do that, it's not a minus point on other games, but more a plus point to Genshin.

@@danifit24Genshin is such a bad example. Yes they weapons are much more flexible but than you have examples like homa staff who is the second best in slot for every character that wields a polearm.
Also you should consider that Genshin has a complete different weapon banner System. The possibility that you get a signature weapon you don’t want is much higher than in starrail.
The worst thing is relic farming, having a double crit piece roll all into flat HP.

@@CVdesu Oftentimes when I got a double crit piece it had a tendency to roll (and only upgrade)BE or EHR rather than ER. Or anything else for that matter. That honestly generated a lot of PSTD. If I saw a crit piece with BE or EHR, I would almost immediately scrapped it. My Ratio has so much Break Effect and EHR that his Summation is almost acting as the hard carry for how bricked he is.
Seele's lightcone works on a lot of Hunt units from what I've seen lmao what are you smoking
Sushang can definitely use it. Her SPD boost is huge. She can easily reach 160

Alot of hunt characters require high speed into their build, and with the glamoth planar set , the high speed benefits them alot since the glamoth set gives a high damage bonus at 160 speed , granted it is difficult to get a build like this and still have optimal damage because just like crit speed is rare, but still ,seele LC isn't as inflexible as the guy says.
I was just about to say this. Don't know what bro is on when making this, but Seele (Sushang, Yanqing, Dan Heng, Dr Ratio) and Silver Wolf's (Welt, Pela, Acheron) LCs are actually pretty flexible. Not to Jing Yuan's degree, but still flexible.
Half the harmony in the game have speed boosts, I agree with his point but Seele LC is a terrible example, Topaz and Jingliu much better examples of inflexible Cones.

Keep in mind that you have 4 free 5* light cones from Herta store and while they’re not the best in slot for most character, they’re often the second best options for most characters
The hunt and destruction ones are decent second options, the others tho are straight up garbage

@@wraithhe The Preservation is working pretty good for me on Fu Xuan. Her light come is probably better, but I saved up on jades cause it feels pretty good. Went for Boothill's instead.

Just use 4 star weapons that are literally made to be worn by those 4 stars? How's a 5* signature for the other character makes building 4* characters any harder lmao. Argenti's LC is barely any better than QQ's signature 4* for crying out loud.
@@Tiberium9000 Argenti LC is actually better simply because it lessens the need for crit grinding. Got the Argenti LC for Qingque and it's been a massive boost to her damage

One redeeming quality with the lightcones however is the BANNER
IT HAS NO FATE SHIT MECHANICS. Its as easy to get as the characters
it's even easier to get them than the characters, since you hard pity earlier and you're 75% to get the rate up weapon

@@nt0027 Genshin has 2 rate-up weapons in its weapon banners. making it so that after you win the 75% you also need to win a 50% to get the desired weapon, so the true odds are 37.5% not 75%.

@@kurimiaisukurimuA lot of the 5-Star ones absolutely are though. Every Polearm character can get great value from Staff of Homa, Staff of the Scarlet Sands or Primordial Jade Winged-Spear. Bow characters have Aqua Simulacra, Polar Star, Skyward Harp, and Hunter's Path (and Elegy for the End for support). Claymore characters have Beacon of the Reed Sea, Wolf's Gravestone and Redhorn Stonethresher. Sword characters have Primordial Jade Cutter and Mistsplitter Reforged (and Key of Khaj-Nisut for HP scaling characters like Nilou, Furina or Kuki). And finally, catalysts have Kagura's Verity and Lost Prayers to the Sacred Winds.
Hanya can actually utilize earthly escapade pretty well. I got a double of that cone from a 10 pull and she does great with it! So does my Sparkle (obviously)

Hanya for sparkle LC, welt for LC, any hunt character realistically can use Steele LC, jinglius lc is great for a fight with high aoe (I use it on il its really good). I understand your point but they aren't necessarily inflexible you just have to know who can run the sig LC viably
I think people are misunderstanding sparkles lc because recovering skill point also includes using a basic attack 🤡 and most of the harmony characters dont use their skills every turn like Ruan mei,ting yun, asta sooooo you will get the buff in the the 29th cycle in moc but it still works because doing a 3-4 cycle clear per side is a respectable clear time
I have Sparkle und her con. But she wear Bronya con(for energy regen). Her con I give Hanya e6 and she become a monster.

Yes bro. Honestly, the most versatile light cone I can think of is DDD and Breakfast. Most 5 star light cones are a perfect fit for their respective 5 star and very niche to the point that the only reason you'll really be using them with 4 stars are because of the stats

Conter point: That is a good thing because if you really want to invest in one specific character you can get their signature lc (with $$$$), but if you just want a general lc there's tons of events, craftable and herta's store lcs available for free
If signature lightcones were to flexible and new ones who continously become less value to pull. It's supposed to be niche to the character they r based on and if the work with others thats nice, but if not you womp womp ur not forced to pull for all of them.

But 5 star weapons in genshin are usually always flexible and works on more than 2 characters and even in some cases can be used on other 5 stars of the same type

this is the worst thing bc...? who's spending so many jades on a lc just to put it on a 4* instead of getting the character who the pc was meant for? be fr it's called a signature lc for a reason it's not meant to be used for every single character of that path it's meant to make the character it's meant for stronger f2p players get more value to their acc by pulling the characters than the lc (unless they have the character the lc was meant for) really the worst thing is the relic system
Seele lc is pretty universal tho, 18 cr, most Hunt characters are usually build with around 134 spd or above so it's at least 18% dmg to skill and 36 cd for ult

It is almost like you have to pull for a 5 star lightcone to get a sizable damage increase for that 5 star character. You literally don’t have to pull for the 5 star lightcone if you are not using it for that character it is meant to be on.
no a lot of 4 stars and free 5 stars light cones are good, yes its not optimal but thats why theyre called BEST IN SLOTS.
Just a correction - Seeles lightcone is actually a tad bit more flexible, because its also the BiS for Yanqing ( since he also reaches 160+ speed like Seele), and at least in the future there is bound to be other Hunt characters that play off of speed
i think topaz one is quite flexible no. i kinda forgot but its soemthing like u get a dmg bonus or debuff on enemy when they get follow up attack so any follow up atk in the future that can follow up often and the hunt can abuse it. himeko is also flexible since its always in good in pf

Seele lightcone was actually very and I mean VERY flexible on other units at release.
Because we literally all received a character that boost speed with her Ult (Asta)
160 was easily doable. Even without speed boots on Seele because…. It’s Seele time anyway.
But other could reach it with … 2-3 speed increase (meaning +4/6) on average on every pieces?!!

Welp its a signature light cone for a reason. You wont risk getting the other characters signature light cone unlike genshin so if you pull for a certain LC ur most probably gonna be using it for that character
While going for 5 stars LC you are bound to get 4 stars which are probably the flexible lc rather then the 5 star who are meant for their main holders/character

I think thats totally fine, if u want flexible lightcones you have many 4 stars that are all pretty good and some stamdard 5 stars and 5 stars from the SU, i believ that they are called signature lightcones for a reason they are specifically made for one character and they should remain that way

Exclusive cones are exclusive for a reason as they don't work on an effect acquired through equipment or status, but rather through the user's exclusive ability
Unlike standard cones like Welt's or Himeko's that work around a pathway effect, be it effect or damage.
Exclusive clones work exclusively on the skill of ONE character, not the path.
After all, they are related to SOMEONE'S stored memories
As i said here on a reply, this problems exists due to the Atk-hp-def as base stat instead of a more flexible stat and then a passive, to get crit, regen, break or whaeter stat u want it need to be on the passive of the LC and those will tend to be specific
That's why I mostly don't bother with LCs unless I don't have a good option for that character. My Jing Liu for example is still happily running Fall of an Aeon for example

sure it would be nice if these light cones were more flexible but you have to keep in mind that they are made specifically for the characters. the standard banner light cones are a little more flexible for general use and you can also get some good 5 star cones from simulated universe. in my opinion the argument that a weapon designed for a specific person is too targeted at them is a stupid argument.
The thing is, there's a lot of options other than the signature lightcones for the character that are also viable and good for those characters, so the fact that you can't really use signature lightcones, especially considering how easy they are to get and how many free pulls you get in HSR AND that youre probably only getting them when you have the character already, it really doesn't mattwr at all.
They are also much easier to get then the sig weapons in GI that is the tradeoff. If you think they will change a more forgiving system then the one they use in GI and GI makes them more money and is less forgiving you must not be that bright

Signature = they are fixed for that character.
In fact MHY doesn't put 2 cones in one banner like in Genshin so you would not afraid of failing for the other weap. That's why if you pull the signature weap in HSR, most of you are sure to use it on the signature character.
They don't want to make the same mistake like Genshin did. In Genshin 4* Weapon are so Universal that you don't actually need *5 weapon (I am talking about you Favonius Blade)
This is because the signature LCs are easier to win so the drawback is that it has to be inflexible, just as how Genshin has more flexible signature weapons but are MUCH HARDER to win. Moreover, HSR is still at an early stage so who knows what kind of kits future characters would have. This is all about long-term investment in that regard, I think.
Seele’s LC is definitely usable on a good chunk of the hunt path characters.
Majority of hunt characters, if not all, have a high base speed. So hitting 160 speed is not a joke.
I will agree though that a majority of signature LCs aren’t really flexible, but it’s more so got to do with the fact that the 5* in question is very unique/niche compared to the 4*s available.
Luocha used to have one of the most niche LCs but come Gallagher and it’s now also useful for Gallagher, arguably more useful than most other LCs cuz of the nature of his kit.
I mean, if you’re pulling for signature Lava that frequently, you likely have at least one copy of the more flexible 4 star ones. Not to mention, new events frequently bring around some fantastic LCs, I.e. the current event being a fantastic workaround for Robin. Banner 5 star LCs are meant to be signature.

I think that's why lightcones are not in dual banners, so if you win the 50/50 you are getting the one you want and you willingly pulled for.
The reason the Light Cones are made inflexible is because in the future, certain new characters may be able to use them, but at the same time the value of the Light Cone is maintained for the newer character.
This is in contrast to Genshin's Weapon system. Mistsplitter Reforged can be used for literally any Elemental Sword DPS and can end up discouraging the new weapon Banners.
I mean yeah their called signatures for a reason plus there’s every other 5 star light cones that is far more flexible I mean Himeko’s Signature light cone works great with any character of her path cause she a standard banner character so all and all if you want flexibility use the none limited banner light cones

I am pretty sure that Jingliu’s LC get stack quite easy like if enemy hit your unit

Although perfect for jingliu, it still stacks up.. On the damage the enemy does to your team.. meaning if your team gets hit three times, Boom.. maxed out.

Just don't pull them, the problem raises when we talk about 5 star standard banner lc, we don't actually need it but we just got it, so it should be flexible since we may not have the said 5 star char
They are called "Signature Lightcone" for a reason and the keyword is signature. For one why put it on any other characters other than the actually charactets themselves and second why pull for a lightcone where u dont even have the character that the lc is ment to be
I think people dont understand that the point of sparkle’s lc is for whenever she uses her ultimate she gets this buff. You don’t have to use normal attack 4 times thats just insane.

Half the lightcones you picked were for characters that are unique for their roles (Like acheron, the only raw dps nihility character and sparkle, a character who literally changes the base mechanics of the game)
Nah. Relics. The farming is miserable. The RNG is just as miserable.
I think HSR is building their content around late party players. Topaz lightcone was also very situational until Dr. ratio came out, Luocha's light cone was very situational until HuoHuo came out, Kafka's light cone was very situational and even skippable until Black Swan came out, and Gallagher's best light cone came out before he did.
There's not enough characters to dictate the meta, but it is true the existing ones are not getting a lot of direction because of it, all of those cones are generalist "your character gets better if they do this" so I feel there's a lot coming for them also.
Acheron LC is insane for Pela. It makes any attack of her rechargr almost half of her energy, because Pela has a traces that makes her energy go up when putting a debuff
Pela just becomes a DPS with Acheron's lightcone lmao

One thing, it's not HSR, it's every other Hoyo game, nearly all sign weps in Genshin since about second half of Inazuma is like this, in HI3rd it was always like this, due to signature also really exist to amplify character main mechanics.

Instead of Relics/Artifacts they use Stigmata. Its the same system of Relics/artifatcts but you have you gacha them in the benner. You have to get atleast 2 of them to get the set bonus, and 3 of them to max the set bonus.
And there is still weapon benner. In the Hi3 some character dont have a skill, they get the skill from the weapon. So if you dont have the sign weapon your character will only have basic atk and ult.
Why would you pull a signature lightcone if not for that specific character though..? It's not even like in Genshin where there are two weapons on one banner. Of course they would work amazingly for only that one character, it's Hoyoverse's way of saying "this lightcone gets a bonus ability if used by X character".

I never liked this about most gacha games. Having separate gachas for characters and weapons feels weird, as you need both to function optimally. The one thing I liked about Fire Emblem Heroes is that when I pulled the character, I got their weapon already, and I can inherent different skills if I want to or just use their base kit.
Yes but also this raises the question "why are u pulling for that lightcone if u dont have that character?" The 5* lightcones arent meant to be flexible because theyre signatures for the specific character. And theres no way to obtain said lightcones without pulling on that banner. It's not like in genshin where theres a chance u accidentally get a signature weapon that you dont want. U have to intentionally pull on the lightcone banners.

The features are general enough that they can be easily used by other characters in the future For example, using Dr Ratio's lightcone on Yanqing, despite the RNG of his additional attack, the damage is massive.
Its actually not, if u played another turn based game, most of them is more restricted than this , like signature is only can be equip by the hero itself or else the passive doesnt active, thankfully hsr have herta lightcone and 4 star lightcone which have many flexibility for many heroes.

On the Seele LC, bro has never used Sushang before. I accidentally made her have like 211 speed once, without party buffs or sim uni buffs.
one time i saw some 110% crit rate dr. ratio build an he wasn't even on his sigature lightcone he was using a s2 copy of seele's lightcone

@@loppedoffhead1 and this argument is completely wrong, Sparkle LC S1 Crit Value for the party is 55,5, besides looking way less than her own Crit Value buff, it is actually 35% of her total Crit Value buff.
@@RafaelAraujo-by8kb Bronya’s signature can provide a 10% energy regen buff on top of the buff for the next ally taking turn(which is almost always the ally that sparkle buffs) when sparkle uses her skill. But ofc this lightcone option can only be equal to her signature if you are using heavy sp usage teams, like Dan IL or QQ.
@@loppedoffhead1 i main QQ and IL and I tested both LC, Bronya LC isn't even near of Sparkle LC on Sparkle for both IL and QQ cuz they have much more Bonus Damage% than Crit Value, SP generation of Bronya LC is nowhere near changing bad SP results, better just play right SP than be dependent on a inferior LC. Bronya LC just works on Sparkle, its a little good addition, but DDD S5 can do better im most of scenarios.
I say the worst thing in HSR is how the lightcone art does not go with the character path it represents
On the flip side, there is no reason not to use Jing Yuan's LC on all Erudition chars except Argenti with his own signature. Both scenarios suck. Lol
Oh boy, a lightcone SPECIFICALLY made for that certain character should also have priorities that HELP EVERY OTHER CHARACTER, silly me! It’s almost like THEY NEED TO MAKE MONEY! But that can’t be right now can it?
I mean yes it is not flexible, but that's the point because they're signature light cones for a reason, it's same case for Honkai Impact 3rd, mostly all of the limited signature weapons only work for 1 specific character, other people may seem to build around it like how Herrscher of Thunder Mei's sig weapons can work on any Lightning sword DPS, even if other characs cannot benefit the full buff, but atleast the general buffs that come with said weapon like boosting Lightning DMG bonus, Total DMG Bonus, and more, so it's also the same case in Star rail, only some characters can benefit from said lightcones, like how Welt can use Acheron's LC or how Topaz's LC can work on Dr. Ratio and that's what you call Stat Sticks.

So what you want out of 5 star lc is just 400% damage, that's it. That's the entire description of the light cone.
If you guys think inflexible lc's in hsr is bad, in hi3 signature weapons and stigmatas have effects exclusive to certain characters. Meaning those effects wont even activate if not equipped on that specific character.
It's not like it's called a "signature" light cone for a reason

Funny thing, you ONLY have mentioned signature light cones that were designed pretty much ONLY for a certain character. Non 4 star light cone were mentioned that are extremely flexible. Nor Herta`s shop lcs were mentioned which are the "flexibility" you are looking for. I guess u did it only cause of the amount of stats which signatures are providing, but thats the case, you will never get flexible light cone with amount of signature lc stats
This is why I use 4 stars, those LC has effects you can actually sometimes activate without going out of your way to do it.
I mean later on 160spd should be an aim for every dps with speed boots, especially with TY and RM speed buff
Herta shop Destruction and Hunt lcs are insanely flexible to fill in these dps lcs gaps.
Honestly treat most LCs as stat sticks, especially the crit ones.
I'd say the most flexible is Argenti as its doesn't require any FUA but up to I think either 160 or 180 Energy Ult Cost that gives overall DMG%.
