The last two tips are the best. I started playing hunt with friends, and despite having played fps for many years, I had a 0,3 KDA after 100 hours of play, and was completely stuck in 3 stars and I never cared for those stats ever. I even only learned there was a freaking HITMARKER like 200 hours into the game. As I continued to play I eventually went over 1,2 KDA , and always continued to played purely because it felt FUN. I ocassionally get to 5 stars and sometimes fall into 3 stars when playing solo, but not caring about the rank and stats really is important. After all, it's always better to lose a 15 minute intense teamfight, than killing the boss on your spawn with an extraction next to it and never firing a shot.
I´m in a similar situation right now. Around 90 hours in Hunt but pretty much all of it with friends that were already good at the game so I mostly got carried (with very few exceptions here and there). Because of that I never really improved and even got frustrated with the game. Which is why I´m currently checking out videos like this one to try and get back into it, because its undoubtedly a good game.
I fell in love with this game 3 weeks ago. Stopped playing all my other games just so I can get better at movement and listening in Hunt. Sometimes when the fighting is done I just walk around the creepy buildings or look at the scenery. Night maps are awesome, thunderstorm maps are awesome, Just an incredible game.
Practice, practice, practice. And the best way to practice is to play. It's also worth remembering that you can lose a fight due to pure dumb luck. The guy who killed you could be an expert sniper. They could also have popped off a hipfire shot in you general direction to try and get you to back up into cover, and got lucky. Try not to stress out just because you lost. Just grab another hunter and jump back in.
I vary between the 3,4 and 5 star lobbies but usually I'm sitting in 3 star lobbies, if that's where your fun is then embrace it...I know I do. MMR is over rated and easily gained and easily lost.
Man, I really like your positive attitude. The last point is golden, gaming should be fun and not overly stressful. Most of the time WE are putting the stress onto ourselves. I'm currently playing Solo trying to get my last steam achievement (retire 25 hunters). Never retired any Hunters before doing the achievement and since you can only retire hunters at LVL 50 now it can be very frustrating losing a LVL40+ Hunter over and over again. It came to a point where I was really anxious to lose my hunters and didn't take any risks at all. I realized that I put too much stress onto myself. The achievement will come sooner or later naturally, and it should not ruin my fun in the game completely.
Very refreshing to see a video that talks more about the mentality of the players. That focuse on the attityd and taking the good with the bad. Most videos with tips only mention the same stuff.. DOn't move in the open. Know the colors of your outfit and try to find camoflague that matches you with the background. Use budget weapons but with broken ammo to win ez. Bring melee and stamina shot to kill boss within 30 seconds. things like that.
My tip: When bringing out a new hunter level 1 always have serpent. Having an easy quick and usually safe way of snagging clues (sometimes bounties) is really useful. All the clues are worth money and XP which means when you extract you have more XP translating into more points to spend on your hunter. Later you can always swap it out for something else. I usually keep it though.
the clues can usually just be collected without trouble so i dont see this being usefull, for sure the bounty but it rarely occurs that you can actually steal it. i always take necro resilience which usually keeps you and you teammates alive for longer and you will be able to extract more times than with serpent
@xCrazyTwix I cannot count the number of times I've safely serpented a clue, especially off spawn, and managed to kill or evade other solos, duos, and trios running in to take it at close range. But yeah if it's not your thing it's not your thing.
@@jumblestiltskin1365 yeah I guess my play style is more aggressive then yours so it's just boring to me, I prefer to fight rather than evade or ambush
This might be the most quality gaming video I've ever watched. The useful tips, positive encouragement, and pragmatic perspective are so rare. I am just getting into Hunt, but this video has me more excited to keep trying. Liked and subscribed. Can't wait for more content. Thank you.

That last one is so important, not just for hunt showdown. I noticed at the release of Tekken 8, i wanted to reach a high rank so bad and couldnt do it. Then i played for fun, sick outplays and downloading my opponent that i easily reached the rank, having the time of my life. Also was the same for my job, at first i loved every second of it and performed, then i got assigned only boring tasks for 6 months and now i quit. Just enjoy the experience
Good stuff Rex ! great tips for us grasshoppers ! =) also very very good point about just having fun when playing . more people need that in their lives!
Thanks Erik! ♥As you already know I practise this mentality in my own gameplay. It's something a lot of people seem to have forgotten and I really wanted to make a point of that with this video! 😃
I just got back into Hunt after a break for a year or so and on one side it's very challenging to get back into it, it's also so much fun with the changes, events and new stuff. This vid is great and although I got a game for a couple years now you still said some things I will consider now! :)
I agree with mostly everything but one single thing. You're partially right about load outs, but if you play against the top end of players who are either legit or use derendering methods, etc while playing mozin-spitz + uppercut/dolche, you can basically only have a fair fight by playing the same thing yourself. The closest to a "budget" loadout you can have to play against them is Sparks LRR + nagant officer but even then it feels like you're always at a disadvantage. But in lower lobbies I do agree that you can play basically anything you want, I've been there since mmr fluctuates as you say
@@REXNOR_TV Oh yeah I get that! It's just that I've been MMR 5 ever since the early 50 hours because of past experiences with FPS, so I've been stucked learning the game with monsters, dying from things that I had to ask my friend with experience how I died and stuff. I was looking up videos like these a lot at that time even if I was juggling in mmr 5 and 6 lobbies! In a game like Hunt having good aim but not knowing anything still makes you a beginner in a lot of ways, so many things to learn every day
No. 1 + 6 (do not care about money + reflect rounds) are very, very important each hunter should remember in any second of their hunter lives! Nice Video Bro!
I feel like the weekly challenges contradict point number 8, since it's constantly asking for different types of gun types, ammos, and using specific guns that you as a player might not even like which I actually hate, but I want my event points and BBs. I wish I could use my favorite 1 or 2 loadouts without having to change for these challenges, I'd have a lot more fun and also still get the weekly BBs.
Yeah these are actually some great points, hiding your mmr is an especially the tip I will implement in my games. Having to frequently fluctuate from 3-5 stars in my hunt journey, I get too fixated on the mmr at times. I think I'll have more fun/less stress in my games with it
Absolutely! Despite being a very experienced player I still hide my MMR just because it doesn't provide any value to any aspect of my gameplay experience. It might make you frustrated if you drop or give you an ego boost if you rank up, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter much either way! I tend to just focus on enjoying the games and whatever star I am at is where I'm at! 💪
Thank you for this. I just started hunt because of the steam sale and have always wanted to get into an extraction shooter, I am less discouraged thanks to your tips, thank you!
I confess, I was about to just throw some shade when I saw the stack of Reptilian skins, but your points and over all attitude here won me over. For what little that may be worth! Cheers for the video and see ya in the bayou!
Thanks! 💪 Reptillian was the first skin I ever bought, so he is my favorite overall, but I generally switch skin every prestige 😊 Glad you liked the video!
I just played my first game in Hunt showdown after doing the basic tutorial and used what I learned from it, I killed a team of 2 people and extracted (playing solo) I already love the game, I know Im going to die many times soon lol but it's fun and I already want to play more. Very useful tips, the last one is important in every game :)
about the hunter thing expendable ..u get exp rewards money evrything even if u die but u get less for sure but its not like u played for nothing i love it get urself a legend hunter first with ur token as they cost only 100
Thank you for this video. I really love this game but I needed a break from it now that I've seen this I can't wait to get back on it and help the other teams to get some kills. 😅❤️
The same Loadout tipp is great, however there is so often an Event going on, that forces you a loadout for the challenges. Unlucky i seem to get shotguns more often as I would like :D
I never thought of keeping one or two loadouts was a good thing...I always thought that I needed to play with all the guns so I can get good with them all....welp time to look up your other videos on loadouts lol
@REXNOR_TV yeah. I only have 500 hours so a lot of people call me a baby at this game. Even in Cryteks stream they said 500 hours is just the tutorial. So definitely going to be doing this
‘Separate jump and vault’ I can’t 😢 Hoping PS5 upgrade comes with fully mappable controls. Including mapping the whole D pad as you want, with tap, double tap and long hold all mappable with different functions.

regarding playing hunter or gunslinger, do you think it's really important to play hunter from the beginning? does it make that much of a difference? it's just that it causes me a lot of confusion having to click on a button to ads.. 😬
just played my first matches yesterday. people kept leaving the lobby as soon as they saw me. i died first every time. i tried solo and died within 5 minutes of start every time even when i decided to not go for the bounty at all and just try to fill one of the contracts. i'm realizing that the bounties aren't the real threat at all, but it would be nice if there was a way to play without the enemy teams and just get a feel for the mechanics in a slightly more organic way than "gun-range full of targets that don't move" or "explore the bayou with no enemies at all" kinda like the tutorial, but expanded. i guess i just really want to like the game, but i'm just not good at competetive shooters anymore since i'm getting older.
1 more tip to add. Bind a deafen keybind to discord if you are playing with friends who can't stay quiet when they die and start complaining when they do. You suddenly hear so much in the game it's insane.
Small tip but a nice adjustment : disable the setting for highlighting doors and windows. Makes the gameplay slightly more immersive and less annoying And a big game changing tip: get headphones for BOTH ears, and crank that game volume all the way up
Me watching this as 1 armed controller player when you said about key binds I felt that I've had hunt for a few years now and only played it a couple of times as I can never get put with anybody that stays in the game on PlayStation anyway 😢
They fully changed MMR now, it is only based on kills vs deaths. If you die a bunch your MMR drops, if you get a bunch of kills it increases. The opponents MMR no longer matters except for pitting you against similar skill levels
Honestly... I really love hunt. But i cant play it solo even when i want to. I tend to always get really jumpy and stressed each time im getting into any shootout and my hands start to shake and heart starts pounding like crazy, which only rarely happens when i am playing with friends. ^^' Any tips if someone was going through something similar?
When I using headphones that has microphones, the game becomes muted during the matches. The same behaviour happens when bluetooth headphones are in place. The monitor sound works fine as well the small philips wired p2 earphones. Anybody knows something about it?

No! :) Hiding your MMR is a great way to prevent your rank from affecting how you feel about the game and your own performance! Enjoy the game and don't worry about rank!
Istg the game let’s you shoot at least a full second after you should be dead. I headshot and killed a guy, but he was somehow able to get a shot off after my shot landed and I got the hitmarker
I was 1.43 kd and now it dropped after messing up my dpi and never getting it back, now i have a kd of 1.37 and i hate most of my matches and for some reason hunt decides to put me with people whose kd is like 0.23 kd or 0.33 kd how is that fair
Yeah, but can you explain to me how to get shotguns to work? Me and my two buddies die every single time we use a shotgun. We could get the drop on the opponent, be within 3m, hit them 3 times and still die to whatever they have. YET... 80% of the time we face someone who has a shotgun, we die in 1 blast. We've tried every shotgun in the game, pennyshot, flechett, dragons breath, standard ammo... it doesn't change our experience. Please, tell me what we are doing wrong. It CAN'T be simple RNG at this point. We are waaay past statistical outliers. I've vowed to never using any shotgun ever again after I magdumped a Crown and King into a dudes back only for him to turn and 1-shot me with the same gun from the same distance. My buddies are still trying.
Unfortunately I don’t have a good answer for you. I’d recommend hitting up the shooting range to get a better feel for the damage and kill range on some of the shotguns, and maybe check out my “Caldwell Rival Mastery” video to see how I play it 👍 Good luck! 💪
There's also other tips for newbies that I aknowledged after 1000 hours. 1. You should do not care about KDA 2. If you are not a streamer or a TH-camr, do not play solo most of the time. Because In my view there is such a waste of time play hunt as solo. I mean you could if you like, but mix it with your friends sometimes. 3. Play as you like, do not listen anyone, just do the stuff that you like. Rat stuff, sniper/shotguns stuff, bushes stuff, corner, whatever. No matter style you are playing, only the reason is that you should enjoy the game. 4. Mute your VoIP. I am not joking. The developers are do not care about many things in hunt showdown, but money. The point is that is hard to communicate with people even if you like the idea, because of range 25 meters. Seriously? Not even 50. So that's a useless thing, because you can never trust another hunter at that close range. Believe me. I love VoIP, but 90% time you will just die because you like the Idea to communicate. This is not the full list of course, only that I could remembered. Cheers😊
I agree with the KDA 👍 As for solo, a lot of people enjoy that more, and I personally played a lot of solo before I started streaming. Also agree you should play what you enjoy 💪

it's just that it causes me a lot of confusion having to click on a button to ads.. 😬
I play gunslinger. Always have, probably always will 👍
should I keep the same weapons on the hunters that they have by default? Or are there some that are just a must buy every time and are meta weapons
No, you can switch it up if you want! No clear meta in Hunt atm after the update! Try different things 💪
great guide! thx
Glad you liked it! ❤️
@@REXNOR_TV a Friend recommanded your videos and now i am back into the Game🫡🤌🔥
Thx big shout out to you 💪🤩🔥
horsey smile made me like :D
😁
just played my first matches yesterday. people kept leaving the lobby as soon as they saw me. i died first every time. i tried solo and died within 5 minutes of start every time even when i decided to not go for the bounty at all and just try to fill one of the contracts. i'm realizing that the bounties aren't the real threat at all, but it would be nice if there was a way to play without the enemy teams and just get a feel for the mechanics in a slightly more organic way than "gun-range full of targets that don't move" or "explore the bayou with no enemies at all" kinda like the tutorial, but expanded. i guess i just really want to like the game, but i'm just not good at competetive shooters anymore since i'm getting older.
Hunt is a tough game to get into! Check out my guides on my channel, they might help you get a better start! 💪
This game has a steep learning curve hang in there it is very rewarding but it is not easily learned tbh
Thank you for nice tips😀
Glad you liked it! ♥😃
1 more tip to add. Bind a deafen keybind to discord if you are playing with friends who can't stay quiet when they die and start complaining when they do. You suddenly hear so much in the game it's insane.
🤣👍
I stopped playing Overwatch because i started sweating over rank. I'm kinda happy I learned to mostly ignore it in Hunt. Comment for the algo.
I used to feel the same way in OW. Rank focus has rarely been a good thing! Thanks! ♥
Small tip but a nice adjustment : disable the setting for highlighting doors and windows. Makes the gameplay slightly more immersive and less annoying
And a big game changing tip: get headphones for BOTH ears, and crank that game volume all the way up
💪
Hail to ur spirit man !! i'll hide my MMR immediatly !
Awesome! I hope you find it helpful! ❤️
indeed nice tips
Thanks! ♥
Nice Guide!
Thank you! ♥
Me watching this as 1 armed controller player when you said about key binds I felt that I've had hunt for a few years now and only played it a couple of times as I can never get put with anybody that stays in the game on PlayStation anyway 😢
What do you mean?
Which weapon-skin are you using at 1:00 ? And how can one get it? :) ty for the great video!
It’s one of the battle pass unlocks for the current event! Thanks for watching! ❤️
Sir , can you make exemples of good cheap loadouts?
I’ll do a video on that at some point 💪
They fully changed MMR now, it is only based on kills vs deaths. If you die a bunch your MMR drops, if you get a bunch of kills it increases. The opponents MMR no longer matters except for pitting you against similar skill levels
KDA & playtime factors in but that’s just a part of the equation. It’s not based on kills and deaths only.
Honestly... I really love hunt. But i cant play it solo even when i want to. I tend to always get really jumpy and stressed each time im getting into any shootout and my hands start to shake and heart starts pounding like crazy, which only rarely happens when i am playing with friends. ^^'
Any tips if someone was going through something similar?
I used to get that too. It gets better with time. You just have to expose yourself to it until you no longer get stressed out! 💪
enjoy the gameeeeee, ty rexnor for tips
❤️
"stick to one loadout"
No....
I dont think i will....
I use whatever i have to hand and hope my enemies prayed for mercy.
👍
Savage video
❤️
When I using headphones that has microphones, the game becomes muted during the matches. The same behaviour happens when bluetooth headphones are in place. The monitor sound works fine as well the small philips wired p2 earphones. Anybody knows something about it?
Strange. No idea what’s causing that unfortunately 🤷
good video rex
Thanks! ♥
i always wanted to change the vault/jump key.. but after 2500 hours i fear that i mess that up all the time
I can’t even do it😢
It was much easier to get used to than I thought. I was thinking the same thing before I changed it! 😊
Recently I play only this game ❤
❤️
Can you lose a hunter that you’ve paid for with actual money?
The hunters you buy are skins and you can recruit them as much as you want 👍
@@REXNOR_TV thank you 🙏🏻
For some reason I never use my money then I prestige with 30-40k 😅😅😅 I hate it
Start wasting your money and don't look back! Money has no value if you don't spend it! 💪 Check out my money guide if you need some tips and tricks to help you earn faster, that way you can spend more without caring as much! :)
me with 3.5k hours still watching this video lol
♥
Wait, you gain more xp/for lvling mmr by hiding the mmr???!?
In the video he says that to hide your stars so you don’t worry about stars and it doesn’t affect your mindset
There are some issues with desync/ping from time to time 😕
I was 1.43 kd and now it dropped after messing up my dpi and never getting it back, now i have a kd of 1.37 and i hate most of my matches and for some reason hunt decides to put me with people whose kd is like 0.23 kd or 0.33 kd how is that fair
Why do you care about KD? 🤷
@@REXNOR_TV
I'll definitely do just that. I think the Caldwell is the only shotgun I've gotten an honest no assist kill with. Thanks for your time!
switching gunslinger to hunter :)
That’s very individual! I play gunslinger and always have 😊
There's also other tips for newbies that I aknowledged after 1000 hours.
1. You should do not care about KDA
😃
