I love how in the first minute, amidst the calm ambient, this wall of a guitar sound just collapses onto you, burying you underneath. I keep coming back to this song for this feeling.

someone recommended this album to me when we were talking about shoegaze and i kept meaning to play it. one day while driving home from a doctors appointment i put it on and the second the the guitars hit i was floored. i wish i had put it on at home with my headphones but maybe i needed the cheering up most then. im so glad i found them
this tone is nuts for Triple Crown, it's more metal than indie, and the vocals are in great contrast... this is fantastic, keep it up.

In the second time that I'm listening this song, I think that the mixer couldn't control the chaos that sounds from 4:45 to 5:54. It could have been a fastastic song if would not be a lot of "noises" in that section
@@gstrizzolo idk man I think the swirling feedback is kind of part of the sound. The vocalist is screaming for most of that section so it fits to my ears
@@gstrizzolo I agree. I usually listen to heavier music than this but I find it very hard to enjoy. I know it's probably part of the aesthetic and intended like this, but it's just too overbearing and noisy and it just stresses me out. I think they'll probably do a better in the future as they learn to write and orchestrate better and I think they already have done better on newer songs.

@@MiguelRamirez-cr7gh it has been at points! It's a toss up between that, Saturday Night Wrist and Self Titled but they're all fantastic! White Pony is an excellent album but it's a bit simpler, less complex and melodically subtle, so I can't listen to it as much. Generally my favourite albums are those that need a few listens to get - more reward, more staying power, less likely to get enough of!
I'm in the minority - Diamond is my least favourite. To my ears, it's like Disney music compared to the others. Still far superior to most bands' best album though!
As far as the song title goes, I'm a sucker for cool, non generic song names, and I think that is one!

this is shoegaze and post metal mixed. Deftones has no shoegaze sounds in any albums whatsoever.
@@srmitch9260 Be Quiet And Drive, Cherry Waves, Minerva, Beauty School, Hearts/Wires, Gauze - just to name a few - that have that shoegaze sound. Ofc Deftones aren’t shoegaze and shoegaze has a tendency to be like the junk drawer in the kitchen, a lot of stuff ends up there that seems like it belongs but doesn’t. But people who say that Deftones have “no shoegaze sounds whatsoever” are either not paying attention, are morons or both. What HF does as good as Deftones though is dynamics, the soft/loud. I also heard a Deftones vibe from HF but because of those careful considerations when it came to dynamics.
