Farm iron ore, turn into steel ingots. Far more xp than with salt, including taking the time crafting into consideration. The extra benefit you get, is that you can then sell those steel ingots to merchants for quite a few energy links. 1700 iron ORES equals around 15k energy links, when processed into ingots.

BIG TIP AND Update for anyone wondering how much xp it gives: Currently getting 89 xp per batch of salt 5bp xp THERE is also a way where you can put a water storage right next to your while collecting seawater and press on it and as your bag is getting heavy just click it and it will store it while ur collecting it. Meaning u can go afk if u want and just do simple clicks to fill it up. If that makes sense to anyone
this still works for phase 1 i have 15 stoves running and base is next to sea....going afk gathering water and storing them next to you to a container...im close to 40 phase 1
Another great vid, keep them coming man!! I think energy links are actually the most important resource, because of how many things you do require them. Gonna be farming for them big time over this next week. 😂
just tried it, boiled water cannot be sold for xp ... boiled water is more efficient if ur only collecting and boiling water ... the salt is more effective if u are actually trying to play the game for 30-40 minutes while the stuff cooks (+ u get energy)

It's not really passive exp if you have to manually gather and repeatedly set up the crafts, it's more just delayed. It's indeed faster to just kill things but at least you get some salt out of it.

I noticed this when I was getting salt for drying food, I didn't make a farm out of it tho. Think unclemusclez was the first to make a video but not sure on that.
That part itself isn't passive but barely takes any time. If you have a lot of stoves you can cook them for a while, allowing you to go do quests while you farm XP passively at your base.
I already had this setup before everyone started to do it. I however have water pumps pushing a lot of salt into water tanks. Like I have 24 water tanks. I currently have around 76800 sea water xD
You need Solar Panels on your roof or yard and connect wire in the building mode (X button on PC) to anything you want to be powered. If you want it to look nice and tidy you can use the things mounted on walls to run your cables, but its not required. The only thing that matters is to get cables from panels to your electronics, no matter how. Usually (without any power output perks) each panel produces 15W, so the more stuff you want to get powered, the more panels you need. There are also movable batteries useful for PvP servers, which you can take to power some stuff outside the base.
@@huntcringedown2721P.S If you press L while in your build menu, it will hide all your cables! Another way to keep it looking tidy without the wall mounts and pylons
it shouldn't get nerfed there's numerous other stuff you can craft that gives you same xp even killing an enemy should result in same xp if im not wrong its more how passive you can gain xp, lets say you go out for a mission then right before you pickup as much saltwater then set the stoves to make salt, after the mission is done you return to base and have a lot of salt

Hello , nice for sleepy Players 😁
This is a lot of xp but it's far from passive
All the time wasted when you just built a water pump
My xp bar wasn't moving at all
What the point farming xp ? There is no benefit for being high level without material and gear
Then dont use this method.
I hope this doesn't get nerfed soon 😭
It’s not good you can get just as much xp from crafting things that require easier materials.
