    This is awesome! Thanks for sharing your technique. I’m thinking of making individual portraits of each of my seniors as a graduation gift.

    My art teacher used this method with our printmaking class and it went wonderfully! I made a gorgeous print of my cat this way

    I've not done monoprinting this way before. I can't wait to try it myself and then try it with my students!

    Great to see a variety of options and that you are willing to show all of them and not just the prize winning. Learnt a good bit. Number 4 is the one I'd keep.

      Thanks! Yeah. I don't have enough time to wait on the perfect piece to show. Lol.

    I have a suggestion. To create shadowed areas on the faces try tracing lightly with soft pressure using your finger instead of the pencil in shadows

      Excellent Idea. I recently did some new small monotypes on Artist Trading Cards. I used that technique with great success. thanks.

    I would try distorting the original image on photocopy via machine or Photoshop for a fun result, e.g. longer thinner face.
    I am frustrated cameras do not allow for more distortion creativity when taking the original shot, as it would save time.
    Yeates Makes channel uses a ballpoint pen for transferring images to gelli plate.

      Great ideas. I might make those ideas into a video!

    You can create shaded areas by pressing with your fingers to transfer gray marks.

    You placed a piece of newspaper quickly over your ink for some reason. What is the purpose of this?

    • @theartproject
      @theartproject  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      To take off a little bit of the ink. The thicker the ink the wider the line and the messier the background.

    What to do if the paint drys out in the paper and it doesn't turn out well?

    • @theartproject
      @theartproject  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do it again. It's the process of the artist. Make an adjustment and try again. Different paper, different paint. Work faster. I can't be for sure untill I know what you're using. But always tray again.
