Kite flying is a traditional practice in Chile too, in September all the kites decorate the street corners for the children to buy.

I am really curious about Filipinos in Hawaii because I just feel they have to balance 3 identities - their Filipino heritage, being a resident in Hawaii and being an American citizen.

Aside from being a Filipino, they are also regionalistic with their local heritage Ilocanos, Visayans.

@@francis802usDescendants of earlier Ilocano and Visayan migrants to Hawaii do not really identify with the Philippines. Nation building started only after we officially became an independent country from the U.S. and the plantation workers were brought over there during the Commonwealth era.

Maybe they just see themselves as human? 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@anatoliagolden-hall4553 being human is already a given. But being a human that has to balance 3 cultures, i find it very interesting.

The Spanish DID NOT INVADE Filipinas.. You don't create culture with an invader, but with a foreign culture that becomes married to the indigenous culture. Esgrima began in Barili, Cebú, and my mother's mother was Petra Cañete. The Cañete family brought esgrima to San José, California.
