- Fully Upgraded Level 399 1083HP Porsche 918 Spyder gameplay for Need For Speed Payback. Showcasing it's overall performance in 3 events. The speed cards/upgrades of the 918 Spyder is shown at the end of the video. Played with keyboard and manual transmission.

Porsche 918 Spyder Race Spec Performance review:
In my last video, I've mentioned how the Huayra BC is possibly the 3rd best car. After driving this though, I feel it's a very close tie for 3rd place between these 2. Like the Huayra BC, great acceleration, NOS power and overall handling. Again just a tiny bit weaker than the 911 Carrera RSR. However the 918 Spyder's drifting is completely different than the Huayra BC yet ticks all the boxes of the 911 Carrera RSR's handling character.
The drifting is completely different from Huayra BC. It's much lighter and a much larger drift angle compared to the Huayra's limited drift angle. The 918's steering and grip is manageable compared to the Huayra's ultra sensitive steering. However, the large drift angle also become the car's weak point if you compare with the Huayra's limited drift angle.
It's a small issue of course but at low speeds, the large drift angle requirement at low speed slows the car down a lot while the Huayra's limited drift angle prevents that and maintains higher speed. The large drift angle also means it needs more time to straighten out at corner exits to regain the drift speed boost. It's not as strong as the 911 Carrera RSR's exit speed but it's good enough to be the top of the race spec class.
How does it compare with 911 RSR and Regera:
1 second slower than 911 Carrera RSR, identical performance to the Huayra BC but with a different drifting style. Like the Huayra, the 918 Spyder is another great alternative to compete with the OP duos in online lobbies with it's acceleration, light drifting and cornering speed.

1 second of a difference here on NFS is not the same as 1 second of a difference in other racing games. The RNG factor in the traffic and the unpredictability of the other racers makes it much more about driver's ability to adapt rather than technical advantage, which is a good thing.
They should add a MSWGR difficulty

It is an utter beast in Horizon 3. Download my tune for it and you'll see what I mean. (Search Gamertag: Derrick And Max) Only just over 1000 horsepower, but tuned for cornering ability in S2 Class with no turbos.

Yup, this is the 918's greatest problem... The large drift angle means it slides way too much... Low speed cornering is a bitch with this thing

this is one of the easiest race spec cars to max at 399. it needs only 1 speed perk to reach the 377 kmh speed cap and it reaches said top speed at 5th gear, making it fairly easy to handle for manual transmission drivers. the only perks actually necessary for this car are mostly acceleration and NOS perks, which speed and brakes being mostly optional thanks to the maneuverable handling.
You seriously need to take a look at the VW Beetle. Mine is Lvl 393 Race build and it goes 0-60 in 1.73 seconds and it does the 1/4 mile in 8.33 seconds. If you can get the cards perfectly you can bump it down to 1.7 and 8.23 seconds respectively. It handles like a champ and has a top end at 227 mph. Can potentially go 231 mph with the right cards. It's a legitimate contender to the rsr. I'd argue that it's even better.
*IsuckAtDriving (MSWGR)* This is awesome and you were being so specific and precise about the 918 Spyder's statistics, strengths, and weaknesses. You should fully upgrade the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and see if that car is a great modern muscle car.

I have the same setup for my 918 and NSX, it takes about 10 hours of Hyperspace Circuit grind to get the card tokens to get 5 3mod cards pertinent to your build.

He likely just avoided shifting up due to higher gears maybe having weaker acceleration like some of the bugged 7th gear cars in 2015.

It actually has 6 gears, but somehow it doesnt really go further than 5, except after a jump or something if u use automatic shifting. But the 6th gear is indeed just weak and useless

Yeah, the community pretty much nitpicked the game and kept throwing nostalgic shite at it. Apart from the upgrade system, the game excels on what it does.

Unfortunately there are not many tournaments for racing games these days, at least not for games like Need for Speed. There are some tournaments for Project Cars 2 but that game is horrible to play without a steering wheel.

Payback has drift handling like the other NFS games from Criterion and Ghost Games. This means you will be faster around most corners if you are drifting. You can start a drift by braking while staying on the throttle.

How does Payback's Physics compare to The Crew?

Thế Hoàng Nguyễn the crews physics don’t handle jumps and downwards momentum well at all (nfs doesn’t have a problem with that) also cars tend to feel light in the crew while in nfs they feel like they have a weight to them
+Thế Hoàng Nguyễn The Crew and Payback have completely different physics. Payback has drift physics like the other NFS games from Criterion and Ghost Games. The Crew has grip physics. It is more similar to the older NFS games.
Paragleiber (Gleiber) well in the crew cars will slide when turning but in nfs you have to brake to get the car to slide

But 918 is really unstable, even if you compare it to other cars. It should be a bit more planted to road, but instead it wants to fly other than drive :(

You also don't go off-roading in a Vulcan in 200 mph and go 50 yards in a single bump. But then people still keep playing this because of the enjoyment and the sense of fun.
