    I spent time with this precious jewel, her husband and daughter DeeDee while in Charleston last week! If you are ever blessed to meet her you will walk away with a wealth of knowledge about our heritage, beautiful treasures made by her hands and a friend for life!! Mrs. Hicks I miss you but I'll be talking with you soon My dear friend forever! Love and blessings.

    Great to see folk, black and white walk into her shop with smiles on their faces. Local icon, we can’t wait to hear all about herself, the people and her weaving skills most likely handed down through generations 🙏

      It's always been like that. They respect each other and lived among each other since beginning of this nation. One of the oldest communities. Sweet Grass baskets are beautiful and a trade for centuries.

    She got the Ghanaian characteristics..definitely Ghanaian if you ask...I will won't miss it even her DNA WILL CONFIRM IT

    Everything she has there, the fulani in Afrika made those same things. Is amazing to see the similarities everywhere you find black people. You doing great job Jay, keep it going.

      Sweet Grass Baskets. These baskets have been made by the Gullah ancestry in Charleston for hundreds of years and with great quality and very expensive. One must go there to see the culture and these wonderful baskets.
