The dark green metallic in my Gemini 2 didn't grow mold, but had wax bloom that looked fuzzy (it was bloom!) and I got the ick pretty badly. That's when I learned that Melt pans are magnetic - I popped it right out with a magnet and now I have a non-icky palette and also have taken the opportunity to start mixing and matching between same-shape ones. It's still only a year old, so it's staying. Because it's my favorite (the competition with the first Gemini is fierce, though). Honorable mention goes to the Air mini palette - I love purple and orange together and it does it well.
I have Smoke Sessions 1 and Gemini 1. I wanted a few of the others but the mold issue made me nervous since they're so expensive. Same for the Patrick Ta palettes and their reported molding. But I love Melt's colour stories & packaging. Those Nightmare Before Xmas and the Bailey S collab looked interesting. Millennial Pinx lives rent free in my mind lol
The mold was only an issue in the first edition of the original Gemini palette. So unless you got the Gemini during the first release it wasn't an issue.
I discovered Melt only very recently when I saw another creator using the "Monsters" collection. I bought the Bride of Frankenstein palette and now I'm hooked on the brand. How did I not know about this brand before? I have since acquired the Electrip palette on sale. The shades are rich and fabulous, although I find the quality of the shimmers is not as good as Bride of Frankenstein. Thanks for sharing!
Melt's formula can be inconsistent throughout their line. However, I love some palettes that other people didn't. For me: if it's a color story I like I tend to buy it and I usually end up loving it.
Hi Maaike I don't own any Melt palettes. They were just too dark, too warm or too bright for me tbh. I know myself well enough to know I need light shades with a few mid tone and darker, rather than the other way around. Everything pulls darker or warmer on me than everyone else, so that's another issue. I like the look of them and have no doubt they're really pretty on most people, but I knew I wouldn't get the use of them. I used to wear a smoky eye throughout my teens and twenties all the time (rock chick biker) and even into my thirties as a night out staple. However my forties and fifties have lightened up my eye looks and played with some colour - my skin tone is lightening even more and makeup has moved on to showcase textures and colours. For that to show it needs to be lighter for my skin tbh and I am more willing to experiment too. Best wishes x
I haven’t tried Melt. If I were to I’d go with Brunet since it’s lighter and a neutral color story but it looks too warm for me. It looks like Sephora in the US is not stocking them anymore. They only have a few things, all on clearance. I’ve seen several palettes in TJ maxx discount store. They had 3 different holiday palettes, the zodiac palettes and Electrip. This was the first time I ever saw Melt in person. If I see Brunet there I might try it. I’d have to see it in person and see how warm it is.
Ahhhh melt. One of my all
Time favs ❤
So kind subscribers that gifted palettes to u so we can see this nice review ❤❤
Yes! I have some of the best subscribers.

Ah that's a shame! But glad you found a way to still make it work.

Agreed. I don't think you would like any of these.

Brunet is one I don't own for the same reason but I have to agree that it looks like a stunning palette.
I don't own your winner but love combining my Geminis.
They are so good together!
