I know I probably shouldn’t but I do with the grill just inside the wide open door with the service door and windows open when raining. Also have a fan running. But I am more worried about the rain and the electricity causing shock or shorting out the grill.

Sounds like you're taking some precautionary steps and it seems fine. You'd be surprised how well pellet grills can work in the rain as long as the hopper and electrical controls stay dry, these things work like magic. Truthfully, I toss my pellet grill on my covered porch when it rains so I'm right there with ya!

I need to get back on it since I've been using my pellet grill but just never hit record!

Wouldn't the grills smoke end up staining a covered area? I'm considering something like a temporary pop up gazebo or something but unsure about it handling any smoke heat.

The grill's smoke can definitely stain a covered area. If you're using a temporary pop up Gazebo then Traeger recommends having at least 40 inches vertical clearance so the smoke can safely blow away. You may want more vertical clearance if possible so the gazebo material doesn't get too hot.

Can you please tell me the health reasons why NOT to use the pellet smoker in a closed up garage ? I need to convince my husband
