Somehow when I see mirror matches I'm just like "yeah, suspension of disbelief, these are just characters in a fighting game, no problem" but when I see matchups like Samus vs ZSS or Zelda vs Sheik, my brain is just like "this... should not be happening... what is the timeline...."

Your shmoovment, goated. but your Ftilts are what really do it imo
the movement makes it hard to get in and land a hit, but the Ftilts to safely knock the opponent away and reset, make that movement so much more powerful.
And the fact that ZSS doesn't get much off Ftilt at mid to high % would be tilting. They're not getting hit by a combo starter or anything, they're just getting hit by a "let me better player you" move
