Thanks for watching Sage! Yes that lift system is awesome. And the whole place is kind of the perfect best practice of how to revive a region with mountainbiking as the main attractor for visitors. The village - it is actually called St. Corona (and no it has nothing to do with the virus) - was one of the few spots for skiing near Vienna until 20ish years ago. Climate change and much more attractive resorts in the alps made that unssustainable. A few years ago some local investors decided to build a little trailpark there. Local bikers started to come to the area quickly and so they could expand their project. They started to organize shuttle service, built new trails and finally this year built this lift. It has become one of the top spots for Trail biking in eastern Austria in only a few years. It even hosted the Austrian Enduro championships last fall. As for the hiker. There's a vast network of hiking and biking trails there and while they are marked pretty well, it sometimes happens that hikers get astray. I ran into her on a slow part so it didn't matter too much ;-)
Ja optisch zieht's einen da auf der Kuppe irgendwie gradaus bzw. eher links. Bins an dem Tag zum zweiten mal gefahrem, daher hatte ich schon eine Idee. Hoffentlich ist nix gröberes passiert!

Hey, plane gerade den Urlaub dort. Finde kaum Freizeitaktivitäten außerhalb des Bikens. Muss meiner Regierung für die Radfreien Tage ein Programm bieten. Kannst du mir sagen, was man da so machen kann? Gruß
Hallo Nico, da ich selber nicht aus der Gegend bin, kann ich Dir da auch nur bedingt weiterhelfen. Es kommt ganz drauf an, was Deine Regierung für Ansprüche stellt. Neben dem Bikepark gibt es noch die Erlebnisarena (erlebnisarena.at/de). In der Umgebung kann man auch recht gut wandern. Dann wird's schon eher knapp. Die eine oder andere Burg ist noch halbwegs nah zum ansehen. Grad im Sommer ist das Angebot zum Baden in der Nähe eher knapp.

Bin den trail heute zum ersten Mal gefahren. Bei der stelle bei 5:59 hats mich ziemlich zerlegt :) war auf die Kompression nicht vorbereitet :D
