Hello, the sail is made of (Australian product they call) Wallwrap. Typically used in construction. Much better quality compared to Polytarp. However, I'm looking for other materials that are easily available here in the Philippines. The Edging are Cloth Tape sewn with Zigzag Sewing machine.
I love your sail, just what I'm looking to replicate for my inflatable dingy =P I intend to attempt recreating this as a jib sail on a 5-6 foot (ok maybe 6) mast.
These are the Roller Furler video in action after it was made about a year ago; Our longest run from Laguindingan to Opol, Misamis Oriental; Squire Kayak Catamaran Sailing, Laguindingan to Opol, Misamis Oriental, Philippines Our heaviest load of 4 crew on an Upwind Sailing in a Kayak Catamaran; Duka Bay to Portulin, Upwind Sailing with 4 crew, 13July2014 Our easiest run on a light wind with 3 crews; Axel is Learning to Sail a Kayak Catamaran, 13 July 2014
Do you have an idea how much a sailboat cost? My project cost only a FRACTION of a typical sailboat like Laser and similar boats. My project is many times cheaper than the cheapest Hobie sailboat model you can find.
@@KayakDomain Kyle Bennet is obviously rich, he can't understand why someone like us would cobble together a sail for cheep as oppoed to throw a thousand dollars and just... buy one flat out. I'm currently cobbling together a sailing vessel out of my barely used but proven and capable 9 foot by3.5 foot inflatable dingy. It will have a gaff rig with a 5-6 foot mast (prolly 5) It will most likly also have a smaller spanker (pusher) but due to the main sail being so far forward I'd like to have a jib sail that folds like yours.
What's your sails made of? Edging etc. BTW great job on the setup.

Sorry, I didn't make any video on how to make this Roller Furler because this is very easy to make.
Just get a SAILBOAT bro.
Don't deny.
Unfortunately, I cannot afford. That's why I make my own.

The cable should not be spinning
Cable is directly attached to the jib.
