    Good morning! I am growing the purple Lagos Spinach hydroponically. I love it! Just steamed some for the first time today. Such a blessing to grow here in Florida, as regular spinach is hard. :-) Thank you!

    Thank you! I'm def going to try it! I'm in Canada, but the heat waves are getting more serious in my area so I'm actively looking for plants that can take the extra heat!

      Sissoo, longevity, Okinawa and Egyptian spinach varieties are perennial, LOVES the extreme heat (needs protection from frosta and cold weather though) so tasty and nutritious as well.

      @@JCC_1975 Thank you, I'll look into them!
      So far I've been impressed with Orach that seems unbothered by relentless drought and weak cold snaps.

    Thank you very much for the detailed information, does it mean that not all Lagos spinach has flowers I planted some Efo Soko seeds and I noticed that some has flowers with narrow leaves while the others have no flowers with broad leaves, looking forward to your response.

    This is wonderful. Thank you. Can it be eaten uncooked like spinach? Is efo shoko Yoruba or Ibo or another of Nigeria's important languages?

    • @YAJESGARDEN
      @YAJESGARDEN  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Efo shoko is Yoruba. And yes, the leaves can be eaten fresh as in salads. Thanks so much

      @YAJESGARDEN  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve spent the last hour researching this question, and I’m from Cameroon! This is my first time growing the vegetable. I am also learning about it. I’ll get back when I get answers

    Here is what I find confusing - is Lagos spinach not the one with purple portions on the leaf?? I thought the all green one was African Spinach and the green/purple leaf was called Lagos Spinach?? You show both types in your video, however they are certainly two different species. Also, I like to know if they are same as Amaranth family??

      Yes, same family
