Love the entire album, my favorite of hers actually but this song makes me want an entire Mariah album produced by Dev Hynes so badly man. Dare I say it, but i shall: CAUTION is my most mostest fave album from Mariah's whole catalog of music since her first album MARIAH CAREY. Every cut is so sharp and deep that I am decapitated every time. Not snatched but beheaded. From opening song GTFO to the last cut PORTRAIT. There are hidden vocal gems that I always discover every time i listen to it. Only MC can structure a song with so many layers of beautiful vocals that may not necessarily require any music. I LOVE ME SOME MC to the nth Degree.
maybe buterfly, but the others albums are only good in relation on this
@@pablovallejo199 hello?? daydream exists and is her best?
@@charliep9432 daydream is defo better than butterfly, but i think caution might be her best ever (as an album, vocally butterfly is her best)
@@aryanugraha28 butterfly isn’t even top 3 vocally tbh , although it’s my favourite one , her voice wasn’t at its strongest and healthiest there, her best vocally would probably be emotions , then daydream, then music box (and i’m a music box anti lolll)
*Let's give this track the recognition The Roof never had*
Preach 🙏🙏🙏
The Roof is much better. MUCH.
@@goliaboi both timeless bops

The outro is just beautiful. A sultry version of Angels Prelude 🎶💙
Love the entire album, my favorite of hers actually but this song makes me want an entire Mariah album produced by Dev Hynes so badly man. It just shows how Mariah continues to age like wine with time & only gets better over modern alternative R&B production. Also I shat bricks hearing Slick Rick spit bars after like what...a 20 year retirement from rap? This is my song of the decade.
Perfectly stated. A collaboration album with those two would be absolutely fantastic.
AND THEN he made sure to shout her out in her own song like "Yo...... Respect."
Giving Me Life is giving me chilled out Melt Away vibes with dem octave unisons!
Syafiq Rahman This song is what happens when you mix Melt Away and The Roof ahhahahaha
Mariah is going to the top again 🔥🔥🔥
Most definitely!
Yup. I do hope so.
Yessss
hell yeah she deserves it
Wendy Williams is always saying "we" don't care about artists new music. Speak for yourself big mouth. I'm down for music by Mariah. Old, new and future. I never thought I'd get to see Mariah live, but twice last year. 😆❤❤❤🦋🦋🦋
It’s like a modern The Roof 🖤💯🎶
Yes!
Jamaal Lee yup !
I was just thinking the same thing!!
Jamaal Lee yesss!!
YES YES YES!!! You took the words outta my mouth lol.
I’m obsessed with the entire album

Damn. When she sings it deep like that. Blood and her sound sweet together and Slick charisma is timeless and sounds perfect. And what a hypnotic ending. I was brought here by The Roof.
I love her ability to make her music feel current but still unique and in touch with original Mariah carey
Slick Rick and Blood Orange on one song, yessssss Queen Mariah!
i can feel her whole spirit in this album!!! Fire... never ending beauty.... like someone said before god blessed us with her...... never stop making music... a lot of us depend on it...
Antonio Russell that’s a great way to put it! It’s true. We can definitely experience her as an artist in the best way possible with this album! 🙌
AMEN!!!
She truly is a gift from god!
Loving her stunning low notes.......
mad shit she is a robbing bitch that cant sing high note a
I always preferred her low notes. Like in The Wind
I mean if this album it's not #1 on the billboard charts, people don t know what it s art anymore. Stream, buy the record. Support one of the few living legends, while she s alive.

I miss the old days where you had to go to the store to get the CD and/or the single. I saw it plenty of times when i worked at Sam Goody, people would come in and they'd hear whatever promo we had playing and liked it so much that they'd end up buying the CD. Including Mariah at times.
The whole album is extremely well done, but this track alone deserves millions of plays... magnificent!
One of the best hooks and song endings i ‘ve heard in a long while

Her lyrics are always brilliant. Such an intellectual. Mariiiiaaaaahhhhh❣
Two people she idolize
Her lower tone here, reminds me of “Melt Away” but way more funky! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Mariah's already back in the studio with Blood Orange (Dev Hynes), and I can't wait to hear what they do next. I also hope she continues working with new co-writers and co-producers because by doing so, she has revitalized her signature sound and delivered her best album in over a decade.
My favorite track of the album. Now we need to get Runway available to stream! The Butterfly sample is epic!

This is it, this song is the epitome of musicality (one of Mariah’s many tho...;) can’t help but get lost in her voice!!!
@Pink Panther *So Untrue.* Mariah did it again! 'Caution' is an Awesome album. I can see a #1 or at least a Top #10. As long as she's topping the charts.
@Pink Panther you don't like them? The distance and a no no definitely wasn't
At her perfect example? That's not what epitome means, man.

For the record, it's a tweet, not a thesis, dear.
Relax!

I been a big fan since the 90's. Always love Mariah's music/voice. Just brought the album. People you really need to get it. Great music. 90's RETRO - M.C.
Lyrics:
Hey babe, what's happening? How are you doing?
We can make it babe
Me and you, me and you, me and you
It wasn't really
It wasn't really
It wasn't really much at all
It wasn't really
So, it's summertime, a splash of wine
And forget about it
If you're so inclined, let's take a ride tonight
So then maybe if the stars align
We'll fix our minds on another tangent
And it's kinda like impossible to top this at all
Giving me life and it's everything
Thinkin' 'bout when we were seventeen
Feeling myself like I'm Norma Jeane
Here in my arms is where you should be
It wasn't really
It wasn't really much
It wasn't really much at all
It wasn't really
It wasn't really
It wasn't really much at all
My philosophy doesn't quite apply to you and me
But I won't think too much
So c'mon and feel my touch
It wasn't really much at all
Just a little sensitivity of the soul
Here in my heart is where you should be
Oh you are
Giving me life and it's everything

Why? Reminisce wanna be huncy hun
Follow sheep, from was the first chick, Clarks Wallabees on

It really is!!! Its the perfect aesthetic to the entire to vibe of the record. Iespecially love the way he says her name at the end of his verse. This could have easily been on Butterfly adjacent The Roof, especially during the 2nd verse. The intricacy of her genius never fails.
The one artist who can and has evolved herself continuously creating hits no matter the era. To say this woman is talented is an understatement. Then she tops an already perfect sundae with the the cherry, an iconic Slick Rick. WHAT! Forever fan here. Pure artistry. Mariah Carey ♡♡♡

For real..cant believe she did not do anything with this song. This song is a BOPPPP
The way Mariah's harmonizing in the background with the guitar @5:30 onwards I feel is a throw back to You Need Me's closing note where she imitates a soaring electric guitar by her whistle register during the fade out. Beautiful craftsmanship from her back then and I'm glad she's maintaining that level of intimate detail after all these years. What an artist!
