A lot of American owners are so ignorant of football, but especially English football. The ITFC owners are actually quite rare in that they know about football in America, and they know their limitations enough to appoint the right people with knowledge and experience of the English game.

Hello gentlemen I’ve followed ITFC since 1954, this season reminds of Sir Bobby’s promotion side

Bobby Robson never gained a promotion with Town. perhaps you mean Bill McGarry in 68?

I understand everybody thinks every successful manager is a mercenary. But I think for McKenna its much much more than that. It's the project, it's the stability, its the alignment of values and ambition. I believe he is here for the long term. Jumping ship at the first opportunity I just don't think he's that short sighted.

Football management is a precarious profession and opportunities to manage one of the bigger clubs don't happen very often; managers/head coaches can't be blamed for accepting those lucrative offers. However, things don't always work out as intended. Schumacher may have come to regret leaving Plymouth for Stoke City. McKenna is still a relatively inexperienced manager and I think he'll be with us for a few more seasons.

@geoffpoole483 I don't know if even KM could do well at Utd. with the way that the club is run. You can't blame a manager for taking a payday, but if KM was actually interested in the Palace job, he would have gone way down in my opinion. Stability and potential will overcome instability every time. You'd imagine that Schumacher would have kept Plymouth up and he should keep Stoke up. That move makes sense as Stoke have much more potential than Plymouth. If Stoke stay up Schumacher will have the whole Summer to make his mark. We should keep in mind that KM did not grow up as an Ipswich fan and he didn't play for us, so while he is a club legend, I don't see him as living in Ipswich and appearing on Town TV in 20 years.

@@charliemilroy6497 I agree. Stoke City are on their third manager this season which would suggest something isn't right. It's a similar case with Birmingham City; why they hired Rooney I'll never know. You make a great point about potential overcoming instability. The days of the long-serving manager are becoming increasingly rare; most stay at a club for about five years before moving on.

21:56 - From an Ipswich perspective, the first two that spring to mind are Danny Haynes vs Norwich and... there was def a DJ Campbell one around the time Mick took over; both totally legit goals and not handballs into the net, obviously ;)

I think after the new signings I am more hopeful we can go up via the playoffs,we have a chance of automatic but it's a tough ask in one season.we are in a unique position of having a goal scoring forward on the bench that cannot get in the side because the guy ahead of him is also on top of his game,we certainly have the firepower to go up

I knew we wouldn't drop away like many expected. As soon as Hurst got injured we lost that reliable cutting edge. I had confidence in our recruitment. The only negative was how long Bournemouth held onto Moore. I wouldn't put money on any team. The surest prediction would be to back Leeds. I'm 50/50 on Leicester and us. Leicester always seemed so fragile. Leeds put us away, but Leicester never got the second goal against us and the team spirit and club support are terrible.

Lat season Burnley and Sheffield United were miles ahead for much of the season. This season's automatic promotion spots could remain undecided until the final day of the season. Leeds is the only top 4 club not to have had a significant drop in form. They've been consistent throughout the entire season.

VAR is a classic example of TV ruining the game completely ignoring the spectators actually at the match.Football is not important enough to have perfect decisions. No team ever won a league or got relegated because of referees.

VAR isn't the problem, but it gets blamed for everything.
