I think having your own system is truly a blessing. It helps in so many ways, especially being very significant in the development of your children. You are 2 parents who have stepped up fully and are hands-on with your children. This is something that is missing in many families. This is one reason why your videos are so necessary. I 💯 agree with what you’re saying. Sometimes we have a hard time asking for help as women, for many reasons. We either tired of rejection, people throwing that in our face later, or past relationships trauma, or people using that against us later to manipulate us. When you experience trauma or abuse in relationships, it stays with you. Even if you’re not in that situation anymore, you always have that feeling in mind. we deal with so much in our lives as women that we learn to rely on ourselves. It’s not easy, this topic you’re talking about, a lot of woman deals with it.

I’m sorry I know y’all gonna get tired of me. See I didn’t have a sibling in two hours eight years old and I was so mad I did not want to sibling. OK then she came then I was kind of responsible for her and I’m not gonna lie I regretted that and resent her for that because I’m like I’m already your mother before I even had a child so it really made me not want kids. I have already raised kids somebody else’s.

It's really untrue that if you bump heads with Nana, just imagine how much more you'll have conflict with hired help. Free help is often not really free and comes with the permeable (or nonexistent) boundaries that are natural for family and friends. Whereas childcare providers/hired help are professionals at executing YOUR vision for your home and family without their own agenda. Plus you can find the people who align with you since you get to choose the mutually best fit. You have people in your comments saying "You can do this on your own. Our ancestors were enslaved and went straight back in the field to work after having a baby." but that's because they were dehumanized. To me, it's a civil rights issue that, deep down, many black women still think they are unworthy unless they are overworked to the point that we negotiate our way out of ever truly resting.
You and Samvia have such an organized way of running a household! You are preparing them for life! I feel you are doing a phenomenal job!! God is in the center of everything you do. He is guiding you and showing you the way. Keep on doing your very best!!❤🙏🏾

I agree. You are not a robot. You have to take care of you medically/physically and mentally. Let me ask you a question, you don't like the medical staff? Doctors/Nurse Practitioners? Even the new baby Lola, has she been seen by a medical profession who diagnosed her "tongue tie" as that can be corrected by a pediatrician. Also, it seems to me that you're trying to have the least contact (minimum) w/the baby Lola? Detachment is definitely a strong indication of postpartum depression. The newborn Lola needs that bonding w/Mom. You n your husband have a beautiful family but remember you're not always right. It doesn't hurt to get outside advice and assistance. If we didn't care, we wouldn't speak out. Many of us have dealt with similarities in our own families. This is sent w/Love. ❤❤

Getting some assistance in the home can be selfcare. At times, keeping up with everything, all the time, can become overwhelming. We create our own sense of perfection. It’s not all black, nor white. It’s great that the older chn help the way they do. Do whatever works best in your home

Move around the house, make your bed, cook for yourself then rest and take care of your baby and yourself.
At least to my own experience as a mother of 5, the first day after giving birth its horrible, painful,and it's the time I needed help most but third day. It's better and better.
After the 10th day or on the tenth day, it was my time to move outside the house working doing handwash my baby clothes but not lifting anything.After 30 days I would start workouts to get back my body.

I have 5 kids 4 still at home. My oldest 2 (13&11) alternate weeks cleaning kitchen and help cook when I need them to. The 2nd youngest (8)alternates dining rooms a living rooms each week. The youngest (4 yr old) is learning to tidy up and help everyone. They are responsible for their own rooms and work together on the bathrooms. They all help with laundry. I don’t play lazy children in my household. They all contribute and they have to learn to maintain a household so that I don’t have to worry about them being ok when they are on their own!
You are so right. You have to teach the children so they will know how to take care of themselves when they get older.

I wholeheartedly agree with you guys. Our young people don't understand how to be independent. I love the way you guys raise your babies. That's how my parents raised my sister and I. So now we are independent women. Without our parents instilling God's word and teaching us to be responsible we won't be who we are today. Awesome job to both of you! I just gave birth to my 5th baby and got ZERO help. no one stayed with me- my husband got some time off work but I mean OUTSIDE help. I think as a mom of "many" kids its harder to ask for help bc people see it as "you chose to have another baby" BUT people choose to do hard things all the time and still dont get the same "stigma" as people who have large families.
I also notice fewer people offer to help when you have more kids bc its not "fun" for them anymore. coming over to hold a newborn and take pics is not helping- when you have a NB and 7 older kids people know they will actually have to HELP if they come over- so its more about them being hosted, than it is about helping us.
all I know is if I have a daughter or son who needs HELP after having a baby- starting a new job- being in school- moving etc- I will be first in line to volunteer. bc I know how it feels to have almost no support. I take it as a blessing of wisdom that I now UNDERSTAND how it feels- and will do what I can to make sure none of my people feel that way.

I totally get it! I get the independence (it’s a native-New Yorker thing 😉) from having to assume responsibilities early on (I had my first child at 18, three months after I graduated from high school)!
As much as I enjoy seeing your mom there with you, I totally understand that she has to go home-she has a life too-and that her visits are in specific increments.
I just got back last month from an 8-day visit with my younger daughter and her family, across country. We were celebrating my grandson’s H.S. graduation and 18th birthday.
I will be going back again next month, mainly because I will stay with my 15-year-old grandson, while his parents and big brother get him settled into college.
Again, the visit will be in an increment…I’m not trying to live there, and they are doing very well taking care of their little family themselves.
My oldest daughter is only a state away/a few hours drive from where I live; and, I only visit by invitation or mutual agreement…and never unannounced. Her nest is empty now, so I don’t know when she’s even home, traveling or available. Basically, I (have learned to) respect boundaries.
And, all of my “children” (which includes my daughters, their spouses, and the grands) know that I am there for any of them (by phone, text, or video) and only a few hours away by car or by plane.
I love you and the family’s transparency. Honestly, I believe that you are very generous with your sharing; and, it does make me feel like I’m part of your family.
As the mother of two adult daughters, and grandparent to their offspring (three of which are-or would have been-adults), I’ve learned to stay in my lane, and not to do anything contrary to my “kids’” wishes in their child rearing.
That’s, primarily, why I don’t express my opinions too strongly about the things that you do or don’t do when it comes to your own body, marriage and/or raising your children.
When I was working, and while I was simultaneously, raising my kids, I never outsourced laundry, had people come in to cook, etc. At best, I was fortunate to have siblings and/or good friends that would watch my kids, or I may have hired an occasional babysitter for a few hours so that my children were supervised in my absence. But, honestly, I’m a private person that doesn’t want people looking at my dirty laundry (dual meaning); and, in my opinion, not many cook as well or better than I do. and, I never wanted anyone cleaning my house, ironing, my clothes, or even washing my windows; because, I always wanted my own touch… And no one else has it but yourself.
As the fourth child of eight, and the second daughter that was home for the majority of my parents’ child rearing, I learned these things because my parents gave me the opportunity to be involved, and to do what I was capable of doing as one of their children.
I realize that your content is one of your means of income. But, I also recognize that you guys know the balance necessary for your physical and financial well-being.
All I could say, is like I tell my own, do you. I have every confidence that you’re on the right track! And, I’ll still love you. ❤
I have 2 kids. 1st one I was on my own since the doc said I was pregnant. The man disappeared gave birth at the hospital brought him.home limping. I was suffering from a terrible autoimmune disease at the time that affected my teeth I was on antibiotics still took care of him. Later I got married gave birth another son I did everything by myself. He barely did anything. No family.no one. Sometimes it's just yourself you have

I have this problem because my mom put it on me to help her young as her husbands never did. I am in counseling now and they said I have OCD mentally not physically. It also happens for gifted women. Maybe some counseling and mommy retreats here and there.

And don't want the support of my husband people cause we run or home differently my husband and my children are the support system.
You may want to see an actual doctor and have labs done instead of self diagnosing. That's extremely irresponsible on a social media platform. It's great to recognize various signs and symptoms, but to automatically put this out there without seeking true professional help is irresponsible and dangerous for both yoyrself and those who may be uninformed or uneducated on the subject. To repeatedly have children without seeking help for something you say you're mentally prone to is dangerous. If this is truly how you feel and what you think it is, get help and not validation or sympathy from your comment section.

See I never wanted kids because I love my life and I have no regrets in not having children. I am so glad that I don’t have grandchildren because most likely some child will be becoming the drop off the child at my house for me to be raising their kid at 51 and I learned how to do these things really really young like by eight I knew how to you know so I don’t know if you have teenagers and they don’t know how to wash their own clothes and do certain things then that’s a problem yes

I never ever ask for help. I just delivered my babygirl in Oct after not having a baby in 16 years. I was 19 with my second and 16 with my first. 35 with my 3rd. I had a c section with all 3. 2 having pain management and the 3rd i did all by myself with no drugs since I'm 8 years sober and wanted to do everything I could to bot take anything. I went back to work 2 weeks after giving birth an I own a small cleaning service so instead of asking for someone to watch heror maybe take a month or 2 off I went and did a move out clean with my 2 week old daughter. I had a horrible dv situation so I don't ask my husband now for help ever. He does try but I always end up doing everything on my own bring a women with lots of trauma can really suck

I totally relate. This is so me as well everyday . I calmed down alot but its only due to me realizing I needed to because I actually did go through a burnout and spiritually The Creator just literally made me sit down and rest . I was slowed down because I was overwhelming myself. It truly is so hard to ask for help.
You two are anointed and just listening to your testimony reminds me when I was a young stepmom, and later having my first born.
God is sooo awesome and it shows.
Continue to be you, wash your own undies 😁, accept help...there's plenty of assistance around! If I could have been blessed to have more angels, I certainly would have!

I only have 4 kids and truly wanted more but I knew that my husband and I were becoming burnout and spread so thin. Trying to be present for every kid of different ages 13,8,4,2 with different needs and activities and etc. Trying to be super parents. Like you it’s just us with no support so I couldn’t imagine having 8 children. I know you’re spread super thin daily but at postpartum you have to let your body recover and the best way to do that is rest and nutrition. Please just rest take those 4-6weeks to be taken care of when you can ❤

Sometimes trauma brings on a controlling nature. You learn self preservation snd will find it difficult to let others help, and always control everyone and everything because your mind says I have to remain in control. What is obvious is mom has trauma and it was obvious before baby number 8. Everyone seems on edge as though they are waitng for mom to give them the next order.When the kids came from vacation bible study Lisa and her sisters stood like soldiers looking uncomfortable as though waiting for mom's cues.We dont see her interaction with her children once the camera is off. But mom is very rigid, type A personality and has trained the family to wait for her commands.Even Antwan. We keep hearingnpostpartum, Im a mother of 8 as though its her brand. Therapy will help mom to deal with her trauma so that Lisa can have more confidence. Not once have we heard how the husband is doing.We just hear her talking about herself.He went through an ordeal too.
Baby girl is so cute 😊❤ I'm 36 weeks and due in 3 weeks I definitely have problems asking for help to, I'm a single mom with two other girls and have always had to take care of myself
People have different schedules, commitments and influencer sponsorships and companies they do business with as Influencers.
You have your way of doing things and other people have their way of doing things. When we respect other’s choice in life, it makes sense why we are all different.❤
