@DONWASABIJUAN what “need” do you think he fills? Soft forward, sus defensively, with attitude issues, who can’t even put up a half-point per game? 🤣 …or, solve the second D pair and we make the playoffs.
@@hckytwn3192for starters, this team cannot score after the first line. We are lucky to get any depth scoring whatsoever. What current Red Wings player (outside of a 35 year old Patrick Kane) or player in the system has the playmaking ability of Trevor Zegras? Name a single forward that will be here in 2 years that has the potential to be that dynamic. Just one. I don’t disagree that we need defense, but why would you not take a flyer on a 23 year old previous 60 point player? I wouldn’t give Anaheim the world, but I’d certainly give it a shot. This team has drafted plenty of 200 foot responsible two way players. Did you complain when we signed Kane cause he doesn’t play defense and had a reputation of having attitude issues? Lastly, this team is not a second pair dman away from playoffs.
People complaining that Zegras isn't "yzerman material" is the exact issue. The "Yzerman material" lands you Andrew Copp and JT Compher. Yzerman SHOULD go out and trade for Zegras who can very much still be a 70-80 point guy and has a TON of upside. Trade Mazur + 2nd + a throw in like Rasmussen or Veleno, and boom you have a great player with a ton of upside Future center core of Larkin/Zegras/Danielson/Kasper is NASTY
Tbh I don't like Zegras as a player at all. He should be a winger with how he plays. A center should have a good 200ft game since they play deeper in the defensive zone and are like the 3rd dman at times. Zegras also isn't that great in the faceoff circle. Lastly I don't think he's a good fit for what the Wings are trying to build right now. They want a team that's responsible defensively yet they have guys like Kane, Tarasenko, Gustafsson, etc. If you want to run a more defensive system you really gotta limit the amount of roster spots that have guys like that. Nothing wrong with having one or two for a boost in scoring, but too many and you're working against your identity. The way this team is built now they should be running a more offensive style if they want success right now. My other problem with guys that are offense only is when it comes to offense it can be streaky at times and if they're no good defensively they're basically useless in that time between.
Honestly always wanted to see Zegras as a Red Wing. Players that dominate us seem to play well with us, would be so happy to see him in the winged wheel.
No more Zegras trade rumors! The Ducks shouldn't move him unless they get a massive haul (they won't right now). He has heated up a bit the past two weeks and he is literally playing a better two way game. Best to see how much he grows over the next year and a half.
If Yzerman makes a trade for Zegras, he's dumping at least 2 expiring contracts. 1 player I'd like to see go is Kane. Trade him to a contender and make him happy. Also 1 move I'd like to see Lalonde make, put Rasmussen on the power play. We could use a big body in front of the net like Holmstrom back in the day. Either that or bring up Soderblom and use him there. Big guys like Phil Esposito made a career of standing in front of the net and scoring.
Not sure where he fits. Kasper is playing well as 2C right now and there’s no guarantee Zegras is going to get back to his previous production levels. I’m not saying I don’t want him, but for his price I don’t think it’s a worthwhile trade
Kasper is not putting up points but he is very competitive and in the right spots. Very smart player that he was projected to be. Now he needs to improve that shot selection
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! Just a quick off-topic question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
1. Zegras is not an yzerman guy. Does he go back to his previous production? Who knows, but it’s a shot the wings should take imo. 2. This franchise is boring and predictable. 3. We stand pat all year. No trades and no coaching shake up 4. See you at the draft where we pick 10-15 and draft a nice guy that plays a 200ft game that can sometimes chip in offensively. Projected 3rd liner with a point window of 30-50 points. 5. We are the new Minnesota Wild
When trade talks come up I always have to ask how? Prospects for maybe talent is a bad bad move and nobody is gonna take any of these bad contracts for copp, husso, or holl. you can't trade for Veleno. How? You need to upgrade the Defence so the forwards can spend their time trying to score and the goal tending has some help. Enough said. And if Zegras comes to detroit that's when I would seriously wonder what Yzerman is thinking. Zegras is middle 6 talent. We have plenty of that.
Ducks aren't trading Z. If anyone has actually been watching him this year, he has been more of a complete player than he's ever been. The numbers don't tell the story. Ducks rebuild is complete, they just need to develop now and Z is part of that puzzle. It's not happening. He also seems happy in Anaheim. With his teammates at least. I think they're all frustrated with Cronin.
I agree. Most people, especially on the east coast don't watch many west coast games so they haven't seen how Z's two way game has been improving. I'm not sure if the re-build is completely done. I do think the Ducks need a big, mean, shutdown defensive minded D-man to help with the penalty kill. They have some potential with that in past draft picks, but there are also a couple in this years draft that could be very good in the defensive end.
The only redeeming aspect is his youth otherwise Detroit has plenty of people to fill the middle six core forward group. Idk I'd rather just wait until the off-season tbh. Idk if Detroit revitalizes Zegras tbh.
with the Price Ducks seems to want for Zegras not worth an trade sounded moore then kain needed and second hand i rather have kain anyway then then the primadonna :)
How is Zegras a Primadona? He hasn't gone to the media complaining about anything and he doesn't have many on ice antics or any off-ice antics. So, do explain how he is a Primadona.
Probably take the likes of Edvinsson and an unprotected 1st round pick (and extra picks/prospects). Detroit probably would have to take a cap dump older player like Ryan Strome along with Zegras. Right now this roster needs a jolt before they jettison LaLonde.
@@GeezIDK I have a feeling you haven't seen Zergas play a single shift in a very long time. His two-way game is significantly better than it has ever been., but I guess trolls need to troll.

Veleno for sure is disappointing, in the same way Ras is… at this point they NEED to be producing points and providing a physical presence… I have zero problem moving them but please not for a whiny little turd nobody likes.
Wings need to change their complete approach. Stop with this defensive play, and bring in some speedsters and bangers man. Get the coach you need and try to develop a team that controls the puck and keeps moving. It was fun watching them win and make the playoffs for 25 straight years. Hard to watch now.
Zegras with Wings would be great. Berrgren and Veleno and 2nd round pick, i would also try to go after Whitecloud and Braden Schneider for Defense, i hope Edmonton does not sign Bouchard in free agency, be nice to get him also.
Swap him with Veleno. Realistically I have no idea what DRW have that Anaheim wants to make a trade work.
Wdym we have so much to give
