I guarded the OV-10s at Osan AB in South Korea in 1980. A few had ABD (Aircraft Battle Damage) patches from being involved in the SS Mayaguez incident which happened in 1975 on the coast of Cambodia. Patches were autographed on the inside of the fuselage by maintenance crews. A great FAC (Forward Air Controller) aircraft in Southeast Asia. Loved the sound of the OV-10 taxing out of the Tab-Vee hardened hangars. Looking forward to the build. Thanks!

I have one of these Broncos, I fly Jeti and went all serial using elites system. I have a 6 channel expander in each of the main wings outer opening and then all the servos in the tail and boom plug into the expander so that there is only 3 wires that plug into the main receiver instead of at least a dozen in a normal install. I also put my batteries on a carbon plate and they slide into and lock in a bracket that I made, sort of how heli batterys are installed. I have a few videos on my channel showing all the mods that I made on my Bronco. Will be interesting to see your take on the setup. One more plus is that this plane comes with a lifetime supply of bubble wrap.
That's a cool setup idea for sure! That method didn't even cross my mind but makes sense!
Ive built 2 of these, totally fantastic model. Mine were done in electric on 12s with quarter scale pilots. What your doing will be fantastic. Looking forward to seeing it.

My neighbor when I was a kid flew these in Nam. He was a Lt Col who took a surface to air missile that was shot at his helicopter right off his chest and shoulder. He loved to talk about flying low and attacking the enemy (he used a colorful non PC term).

I had the job of installing the guns and weapons on the OV-10 in Vietnam.

Never heard of this, I see it's sold as an ARF, not bad value for a plane this big and with retracts. Watching videos it's fairly aerobatic too and with electric power it has instant torque. Nice.
Yea it's bit of an ugly duckling but cool scale plane. And fun to fly!

My first "RC plane" was a dual Cox glo plug engined Guillow B-17 with control lines. I thought that was huge lol. The planes you unbox make it look like a ant lol. Took me 8 months to build and an hour of flight before a tree jumped out and tackled it lol.

That will be a really cool build! Glad the covering is coming off. It seems a bit of a waste to manufacture such a cool/expensive airframe and then use pre-printed covering lol! Great work with your videos, I truly appreciate how much I learn from watching them.
Yea I get it. It's to hit a pricepoint but once it comes back it should look stellar!

@thelightersideofrc I think you should do a dual turbo prop on this one…. There is one in Germany that has 2 xicoy X45TP on it.

Hello Jonathan nice one 👍……my club mate has one of these and they are superb flyer, but he has similar gripes about the stock covering so really looking forward to the outcome after glassing.

Thank you for all your videos! When do you expect to be able to do this build after the covering has been replaced? Iam going to wait on building mine till after you finish yours! I was going to use the E Flite Power 180 Motor 195:Kv with Avian 120 Amp Smart ESC & Spektrum AR20410T 20-Channel PowerSafe Receiver with Synapse.Iam open for suggestions. So, all your help is appreciated I love your channel.

I will speak for you lol. The printed covering is Caps lock terrible. I'm interested to see this model after it changes hands a few times applying different building and finishing techniques

I like the Hangar 9 Bronco. But something that bothers me about this Hangar 9 aircraft is the weathering.
Many model builders would rather do it themselves, especially it comes across as stupid when you are on the field and everyone knows that the weathering was already included on such a model.
I'm very excited to see what the model looks like when finished.

Everything is getting glassed, painted etc etc.
