Glad you pointed out that is not Thames House! People tend to have heard of MI5 but much less so MI6/SIS. Add into it the iconic nature of Vauxhall Cross, it’s easy to see how the confusion happens. Stand on Vauxhall Bridge and look east and you’ll see Thames House on the north side of the river immediately to the right of Millbank Tower. I’ve been in Thames House 4(or 5?) times when I stupidly applied for a job there. It’s a lot more modern looking inside now, than the exterior might suggest.

Ive been in the Paris Metro at a time of actual terrorist alert, there were armed soldiers in green camouflage uniforms down there, they were standing in corners and recesses out of the way. It was an armed presence you could not ignore but they did not obstruct or attempt to interfere with the public. These 3 female police officers were obstructing and greeting the public in a way that would be at best annoying. They could have stepped back creating a police presence but not interfering with the public but they were looking for someone who would react to their being there. They were auditing the public and you were auditing them and they didn't like it. You had a right to record and a right to remain silent, they had a duty to identify themselves, report that they were recording and to accept a complaint from the public. The uniformed railway official who told you not to record on railways property didn't know where railway property began and had given you an unlawful order, in frustration he assaulted you. In failing to take proper action over the assault he had witnessed the police officer lost all credibility and should be sacked. How many assaults on members of the public by uniformed officials go unreported even when witnessed by the police because everyone in a uniform gets thin blue line protection ?
This is a prime example of why the police are so very badly HATED 😡
