It depends, with 86box, you can’t set the clock speed faster than 166mhz, otherwise the audio starts stuttering VMWare does stutter unless you change a specific line in the configuration file for the machine, I’ll see if I can find the tutorial I’m not sure what virtualbox is like
I have had stuttering/garbled audio issues in the past with Virtualbox and VMware, but I rarely experience that now. It probably helps that the software I use has had at least 3 years of updates since and I have also made many changes to my hardware overtime.
