So I did it! Thank you for the help! The 15 minute job turned into a 45 min. job! The cavity was filled with a mouse nest! Had to get gloves and cleaning stuff to pull it all out. Beware of buying a car from a farmer! Lol
Interesting. i just put one of those 2 port chargers that plugs directly into the cigarette lighter for charging. I wasn't sure at first if it had to be taken out when the car was turned off, but it didn't affect the car battery at all. I also bought a lighter adapter that has a 3 prong outlet for things like laptops. 😄

i was wondering if you plan to add usb port panel on the back of the center console for your backseat riders? Then just tap in the existing usb/ipod harness inside the center console. Since there's no cig socket for a simple usb plug in. Let me know if your cool to do that mod for our fellow xBers. thanks!
why does everyone's x2 bb look different than mine. ugh. on mine, that little square that ur instlling the usb sockets to has a security thing and some sort of microphone looking thing. also mine doesnt have that "release" emblem at the top either. also everyones stock stereo looks WAY different than mine. wtf lol. its driving me crazy when i look for videos on stuff and they have the same car but different stuff. mines an 09 xb
The 08-10 is the gen 2 xB. The 11-15 is the gen 2.5. You'll notice the difference in the upgraded front bumper and taillights. The plate on the console indicates if the car is a release series which your is not. Gen 2 and gen 2.5 had different features but some things can be interchanged and some can't like the bumpers, headlights and taillights . They did make more aftermarket parts for the gen 2. Hope this helps.
@@OilandGears yea im gonna take a dremmel to the rubber covers and install the running lights from the newer models lol. also installing the fog lights and grill. any idea how to upgrade the speakers considering its a 6 speaker setup which is a bit odd? any recommendations for an upgraded stereo to fit this beauty?
Question for you all I have a 2009 xb and my average mpg is showing 21.8 I use 50 highway and 50 city . Just curious to see if this is normal mpg seams very low
Has anyone tried to piggy back two of these and put another one in a blank on the drivers side ? I have an extra one but wasn’t sure if this would cause any issues

There are some things you can do to try and improve gas mileage. Clean the MAF sensor, add seafoam next time you fill your gas tank.

You may want to have them with their own dedicated wiring to minimize any electrical short. I have not seen anyone piggyback two of them.

Yes, you will just have to rewire it to the USB port or use a cigarette lighter plug in with USB ports.
