    At the time of this comment, Class.forName(..) is no longer required.
    Java will detect your driver automatically. Therefore, Class.forName(..) can be omitted.

    13:53 Connection is an interface and interfaces are never made to represent objects , you are keeping the reference recieved from DriverManager class in connection type variable .

      It is polymorphism. We can't create an instance of interface but we create an object of that and execute the methods which are implemented by the class which are inheriting that interface.

    1. import the package
    2. load & register the driver
    3. establish the connection
    4. create the statement
    5. execute the query
    6. process result
    7. close
