Been practicing this song for about 2 months now as a beginner. Progress has been really slow, but it finally feels like I'm getting a little quicker with the chord changes. Thank you for the tutorial.
An excellent job and thank you. Just FYI ….. some times Live (unlike the studio version) the Cramps had no rhythm guitar player. So the opening intro and rhythm parts are played by a bass player. Other times they had no bass player live. This song is epic.
Oh yes! Saw the Cramps many times and Poison Ivy was a very talented and precise guitar player contrary to what people think ! Great choice of tune, although the original version is cool too.
The open E tuning variation is because Kid Congo learned to play guitar in e tuning with one finger. Jeffery Lee Pierce taught him when he formed the Gun Club.
You got goood taste Adrian. Saw the Cramps live four times in the early 80s and they became my favourite band. I love the music you have chosen to teach and your lessons are very well done. This is however, not a Cramps song. The majority of songs the Cramps did were old obscure 50s songs, but they did make this their own as its much more rock n roll than the original by Ronnie Cook
I think you are right about the open tuning. It sounds that way on the recording, yes. But I also read that Kid got turned on to using open tunings in the late 1970s and applied it to many songs thereafter. And so a natural for this one, from Psychedelic Jungle, 1981.
Wow Adrian you hit one of my favorite bands and songs! I had been looking for a lesson on this since long, now we have yours, exhaustive and accurate as always. Thanks!
Yes!! You're back! And with THE CRAMPS?! Hell yes. May I request "Penetration" by The Stooges? Another Raw Power gem. You can bring out your Les Paul Custom and Marshall. Thanks again :)
The first time I ever heard this song was in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. I thought it was so cool. I thought it was simple but great. This song is a great example of how less is more. I love this song.
awesome lesson Adrian, yes Brian ( Kid Congo ) played in open E tuning. I saw the Cramps many times in the early 80's, here's is a list of some other great Cramps tunes for you to check out when you have some free time.. Aside from this great cover of Goo Goo Muck you provided, check out ( Human Fly, The Way I Walk, I Was A Teenage Werewolf, I'm Customized, Ultra Twist ) Many many others as you can imagine, the Cramps were like no others ... R.I.P. Lux
Thanks for this, totally love and relate to the music you like, you play The Cramps with style and you are interested in the history, you are a total inspiration to play guitar every day, keep the underground alive!!
Thank you! ✌️😊 I know this song is having a renaissance but I've been a fan for years. I saw The Cramps preform Goo Goo Muck and it was awesome. I'm glad I did before both Lux and Poison Ivy passed away.
Adrian, my theory behind why the song was on open e tuning is because Jeffrey Lee Pierce from the gun club taught kid Congo powers abt that tuning and other open tunings too since it was easier for chords
Great choice and lesson. Wasn’t familiar with them. Thought the rhythm sounded better in Open E; especially sliding between the A and G. Thanks for doing!
Wow that is great I own all the cramps cds I love Lux interior and poison ivy , she is an awesome guitar player, I own a fender I don,t playoff well, but my fav guitarist is was still is the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan
Hell Yess!, such a song. Helpfull tuto for me, thanks thanks. I’ve got that same Am.dluxe Rv amp. Crancked up yesterday on Vibrato channel at vol7. I wish i had your skills playing, but the sound was terrific (in my mind). 🖐🏼
If you ever get a chance to see Kid Congo Powers live do it. Plenty of gun club and cramps songs in his set and his original stuff is gorgeous and weird too
I have seen The Cramps 8 times & always a blast. Not sure if the song was never played live with the bass player switching to a rhythm guitar .........too busy in the pit having fun :) Definitely was not an extra rhythm guitar player on stage outside of the 4 piece band. Perhaps the bass just kept the basic rhythm guitar section notes while Poison Ivy worked her magic alternating between both rhythm & lead picking sections.
FIRE OF LOVE, MIAMI, and DEATH PARTY, three of the best albums ever. I once had the honor of spending a day getting messed up with Jeffrey Lee Pierce. Years later, reading his obituary, I found out that we shared the same birthday. I had NEVER met anyone who shared my birthday. Weird.
Your chanell is great! You have a great, unique choice of songs, and you explain your lessons really well. :) Can you make Echo & The Bunnnymen or Japan song lesson , any song you like from their debut albums?
Marvellous, love the cramps, thanks for this, would it be possible for you to look at the B52s Roam at some point in the future, a band along similar 50s B Movie theme...
+1 for B52s, but my vote would be for one of the Ricky Wilson-era pieces - a truly unique guitarist. I'd also love to hear Adrian's take on Ricky's sound/setup/tunings. Rock Lobster, Private Idaho or Running Around for example
This was recorded before Ivy scored her Gretsch. It's probably the guitar she was playing in the URGH, A MUSIC WAR video. It was a custom made guitar, the name of who made it escapes me.
Such a surf vibe, simplicity and a great guitar sound. I know someone who met them; said they were lovely people!
Thank's to you, Adrian, I am a hero for my kids. Merci beaucoup.

Top-tier Cramps lesson here! Expertly taught, as always, and greatly appreciated as always.
OMG I love it. I can actually hear Lux singing. Thanks for give a bit of attention to an underrated band. I love them and wish I could have seen them.
An excellent job and thank you. Just FYI ….. some times Live (unlike the studio version) the Cramps had no rhythm guitar player. So the opening intro and rhythm parts are played by a bass player. Other times they had no bass player live. This song is epic.
Yes epic as The Cramps 😎
Oh yes! Saw the Cramps many times and Poison Ivy was a very talented and precise guitar player contrary to what people think ! Great choice of tune, although the original version is cool too.
Thanks for the video.
Request. Lesson on Blueberry Hill by led zeppelin from their bootleg album 👌
You constantly impress me with your selections. I want to say thanks for this and so many other of your lessons.
The open E tuning variation is because Kid Congo learned to play guitar in e tuning with one finger. Jeffery Lee Pierce taught him when he formed the Gun Club.
I'd only ever heard one Cramps song, but this got me pretty interested. I'll give this a try and will sample some of their other music today.
Strap in, you're away to embark on a beautiful journey
Rob, I've only waded in a little ways, but you're right, these guys are really over the top. I'd like to play Uranium Rock next....

Always loved The Cramps, but never hear of this one, now because of you I can play it. Keep up the excellent tutorials.
I saw the title of the video and knew it was this guy. Best selection of covers ever!
lEt’S RoCk!! Nice man! Yeah! It is about time!! The Cramp’s RULE!!🤠👍
Your lessons are a treat. Your material choices are impeccable. Thank you.

The opening of this video was spot on. I wish I could play like that.
ABSOLUTELY
BRILLIANT MATE..!
Wow Adrian you hit one of my favorite bands and songs! I had been looking for a lesson on this since long, now we have yours, exhaustive and accurate as always. Thanks!
You are my number one guitar youtuber. You have good taste.
Yes!! You're back! And with THE CRAMPS?! Hell yes. May I request "Penetration" by The Stooges? Another Raw Power gem. You can bring out your Les Paul Custom and Marshall. Thanks again :)
Devin V I have a shitty cover of the main riff in e standard tuning on my channel if that helps.
perfect tutorial and beginner friendly thank you so much ㅜㅜ🎀⭐️

Yes! This is the one I have to learn!
I for real just heard this song for the first time yesterday
What a freaking incredible tutorial ❤️
You nailed it. I grew up with the gun club and the cramps as well as others but you did a fantastic job.
Thank you! ✌️😊 I know this song is having a renaissance but I've been a fan for years. I saw The Cramps preform Goo Goo Muck and it was awesome. I'm glad I did before both Lux and Poison Ivy passed away.
I'm pretty sure Poison Ivy Rorschach is still alive, unless she passed very recently
@@robbohannan1893 Sorry my bad! I ment to write "I'm glad I saw both Lux and Poison Ivy BEFORE Lux passed away" 🤣
Never heard this song great lesson now I need to learn it great job
LOVE the Cramps! Thanx
Great player and teacher.
The maneki-neko is really grooving to that track! :)

Made my day. You always do. Thanks Adrian
love this song ! more cramps covers please !
Well done and thank you from France !
Love your playing!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Adrian - killer tone! You nailed it. Love your videos, man. I always look forward to them.

Nice guitar, good choice for a song, excellent playing and lesson.👍.
Wonderful lesson. Thanks.
That's great...Thank You! 🖤
Great choice and lesson. Wasn’t familiar with them. Thought the rhythm sounded better in Open E; especially sliding between the A and G. Thanks for doing!

Hey Adrian, loving the lessons. On the subject of Kid Congo Powers, how about a lesson on Fire Spirit by the Gun Club? It's an absolute banger!
Best lessons on TH-cam. Would love a Pixies tune!
Sounds amazing!
Hell Yess!, such a song. Helpfull tuto for me, thanks thanks.
I’ve got that same Am.dluxe Rv amp. Crancked up yesterday on Vibrato channel at vol7.
I wish i had your skills playing, but the sound was terrific (in my mind).
🖐🏼
Great stuff, Adrian! My next task
If you ever get a chance to see Kid Congo Powers live do it. Plenty of gun club and cramps songs in his set and his original stuff is gorgeous and weird too
Adrian’s at least 4 years ahead of his time, providing this lesson before the recently famous scene on Wednesday!
and about 37 years past its original release :P
Same I’m here to surprise my mom with this
I was surprised they included the full song, including the Lux Interior noises.
Great groove!!!!!! Congrats! The cat in the back is perfectly sync with the bass drum.... amazing!!! ;)
KILLER LESSON !
The fact that he is wearing a striped shirt... way before all the Wednesday thing....
Prepare for a massive amount of video views.
I'm a very big fan of the Cramps i would like it very much if you could do the song Shortin Bread.
I have seen The Cramps 8 times & always a blast. Not sure if the song was never played live with the bass player switching to a rhythm guitar .........too busy in the pit having fun :) Definitely was not an extra rhythm guitar player on stage outside of the 4 piece band. Awesome. more Cramps!!!
Thanks boss!
Haha!!! this guy again... Great song choice and that guitar is sweet.
Great choice, great lesson as always Adrian!
Yes!!! I love the cramps!!!
Fantastic stuff Adrian! 'Bad Music for Bad People' was a high school soundtrack for me. Thanks for doing this!
Thanks, man.
Yay! Do some Gun Club

Well said Henry. Well said lad! Love the Gun Club.
Weird.

Cool lesson!
Hell yes, now your talking!
My name is Adrian as well lol. Great tutorial!

It’s 2022, this song appeared on “Wednesday” so I’m here to learn it😻
Me too, its a nice song
Same here!! Catchy as hell and Jenna Ortega choreographed the perfect dance for it!!
Same bestie
I'm so thankful to Wednesday that i found this masterpiece
Same
I have never clicked on a video this fast!!!!!
Yes, impressively quick. I set the video to go live about half a second ago.
anyonecanplayguitar.co.uk Thank you for a wonderful lesson, Adrian! Xxx
anyonecanplayguitar.co.uk Nice one Adrian! Would you consider another Cramps song....The Creature from the Black Leather Lagoon perhaps?
My brother and I loved this song since we discovered it a few years ago and we wanna play this so the goth girls will dance. Or so we hope
Please do more love ve it.
AWESOME!
Awesome.
Could you do a lesson on Your Happiness by The Diablos?!
Lovely
Now do Wipe Out by the Surfaris
Nice I you have a mustang they are my favorite ones
This was recorded before Ivy scored her Gretsch. It's probably the guitar she was playing in the
URGH, A MUSIC WAR video. It was a custom made guitar, the name of who made it escapes me.
This is awsome
kind of hard on a solid body guitar. sounds better on a semi hollow or full hollow eletric. but still very awesome on your demonstrations.
You got another sub mate. Keep on it. ;)
Ok I was listening to a later live performance and it's a Baritone. I guess Kid played it on a Xplorer in E
Nice instrumental
Круто класно получилось))
As we say from the Black Leather Lagoon, "I'll be a chicken fried son of a gun". Good one Adrian😎
This video pops on TH-cam for me just after listening to the Psychedelic Jungle 🤔
Great stuff!
🧛🦇thanks for the tutorial
Ronnie Cook & Gaylads for original
Yes, I was going to point that it is a cover. As a huge portion of the songs the Cramps taught us. Sometimes not very credited!
Yesssss!
Jenna ortega: This song will be wednsday's song forever sry abot that
