Funeral and burial of the venerable Abuna Bitris Shushe (Ögünc) | ܥܽܘܦܳܝܳܐ

Born in Midyat (Tur Abdin) in 1937, Bitris Shushe (Ögünc) became the first Syriac Orthodox priest for the Assyrian diaspora in Central Europe in 1971. Abuna Bitris Shushe died on 26 January 2014 in the German city of Augsburg. Father Bitris Shushe was a faithful helper and companion of the young Assyrian community in Western Europe at that time. Moreover, he was always engaged in fighting for the unity of the Assyrian people.
