It was the second stop of a tour of the Northwest that had started the day before in Spokane. By this time Elvis had recorded eight No. 1 singles in two years, had made three movies and was about to release 'Jailhouse Rock' as his latest single. Having performed in Toronto and Ottawa in April, this was only the third time they ever performed outside of the U.S. and for Elvis it would be the last. Vancouver's first rock-and-roll show had taken place barely a year before, when Bill Haley and the Comets drew 6,000 people to the Kerrisdale Arena. Now Elvis had drawn a crowd over four times larger. The 26,500 fans in attendance went wild for the King of Rock 'n' Roll. The stage was set up on the empty football field Elvis did it all ..... And he did them better than ..... ANYONE ELSE COULD ..... ANYONE ..... PERIOD .....
