I carry an SOL Scout Survival kit. It's small and it carries all the Life-Saving items SOL Emergency Blanket, whistle, Signal mirror, tiny fishing kit, a Silva small ranger, duct tape, Quik tabs and ferro rod. I have upgraded the kit. I also have in a pocket a small Flint and Steel kit (I never leave home without it). These are my EDC. Another "Never-Leave-Home-Without-It " item is my Pathfinder Military Canteen Cooking kit. I carry also a Grayl water filter in my backpack . Also, I carry my SAK folding knife and a Mora Garberg carbon steel knife. A Shemagh of course. I don't carry an havresack but a backpack on a day hike.
You’re right about getting out into the woods periodically. I just got back from deer camp for a week and I noticed I was stumbling and tripping on rocks or limbs or stepping into pot holes like a supreme klutz, but after a couple days My mojo came back a bit!😂
Been navigating woods since the 50s by focusing on major an minor land features iknow wher the streams start and wher they meet. The next stream i nkow where the hill or mountains lead aand yyhe general lsy of th land for large distances been drink ing stream watet untreated or boiled gor msmy decades in most states amd regions l usually camp with only a tine fire fo cook no big to keep warm i just depend on clothes forr the wrather imake a warm insulted bed grom the grpund like a nest the better the skills the less you take in the woods thanks just keep learning 😊
A bit OT- Jason, you & Bush Kitty make me miss my Pops. He was a WWII vet. In his later years he had a pet kitty that was part Russian Blue. That cat adored him. She would sit or sleep in his lap for hours. Nobody but Dad. Any of the rest of us, a moment of any attention was too much. Lol.
I watch a lot of these videos always interesting and learn something from the various types of survival and gear. There is importance to practice for sure.
One portable tinder recommendation: You've seen those little tubes with cinnamon or mint toothpicks? Those lids are fairly air/water tight. When you have used all of the toothpicks, rather than throwing them away, repurpose them. Mix up your cotton ball or cotton makeup removal pad with Vaseline and stuff some of it down inside one of those tubes. They're super small and lightweight, take up almost no room whatever, and you've got great tinder any time you need it. I also use those little tubes for carrying various pills and what not.
I'm in Idaho with ties to much of the Inter mountain West and Northern Nevada. We occasionally hear the phrase "Death by Google Maps". Meaning people relying strictly on Google Maps often get led down the wrong trail or road into an area not passable with the type of vehicle they are driving or running out of gas miles from any kind of help and dying some place where they may not be found for some time. Good paper maps and compass that don't require batteries is always a good bet. Here in the high desert and the mountains a good hat is very useful as well as water carrying ability. Everything else on your list is good.
I dont go anywhere without 16 ozs of 9mm and 8 ozs of spare mag/ammo. I'm not going into the woods more than crawling distance without another 2.5 lbs of pack, 5 lbs of sleep/shelter gear, 1.5 lbs of "extra" clothing (shemagh, gloves, balaclava, socks, t shirt, boxers, ) The shelter stuff can be worn as clothing, so I rarely ever bother with longjohns, heavy coat, etc. I always have at least 4 lbs of water and a lb of food, fire making gear, to include a UCO lantern, flashlight, water filter, canteen cup, med-kit. all it takes is an "unseasonably cold" night, wind, rain and a messed up ankle/knee, can't get or keep a fire going. You CAN shiver thru a night, think you're ok, but then a week later, die of the pneumonia that your overwhelmed immune system couldn't ward off, cause you stressed it too much on that one night.
I will practice my survivor skills this winter. And also prep. My generator hasn't run in 2 years. I have go bag in car and keep Winter survival items car that EVERYONE should carry just in case the get stuck in snow or ice storm. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO DIG MY CAR OUT OF SNOW! Iloa ed shovel out and others did it for me. 😊 💖 from Minnesota 😎
I may have missed them but didn't see any videos in your list of videos about maintaining personal hygiene and sanitary habits as a survival habit. Any suggestions or plans for a video on them? Especially dealing with waste or trash.
I bought an old homestead in the woods. Every once in a while I ho someplace and its amazing home much stuff I use to hunt or sleep out away from my place. Dont know how I used to travel on a homemade Harley with hardly anything and a minimal amount of cash. Now I use a whole truck full of stuff
Whistle, miniblade & magnesium firestarter, quinzee/tarp shelter, compass/orienting direction, agility on rough terrain, water sourcing- filter for sandy/muddy trench water (collect rainwater? or condensation? Hopefully, I don't need to know, but like a parachute on a plane- best to prepare. Gotta make time for it.)
A toll booth operator on the NJ turnpike told me that the navigation on our phones is not good. She said use your maps and signs. This was after my short trip to a chick filet from my hotel, routed me through a huge industrial park to the back entrance of a truck stop service area, where i should not be. Couldn’t get to the chicken without crossing the big rig entrance in the dark, state police building dark& virtually closed, so useless, and only choice was go through the truck area to leave and go the opposite direction of the hotel on the turnpike and circle quite a bit to go back to the hotel. Just didn’t seem like a good choice for a single woman, in the dark, to wander around the truck area, in the crazy times we live in, for chicken. I did find a Dunkin’ and I have maps and can read them. But it was just a state map. I’m from NJ so I get our crazy turnpike, but I realized I’m not as prepared as I was pre cell phone era. Love your videos.
Next time ASK FOR DIRECTIONS! It is totally OK to ask strangers for DIRECTIONS! Don't worry about STRANGER danger in public places. ASK 4 DIRECTIONS. I can tell you're young. USE THE PHONE to TALK ONLY! Try it for 1 week. NO TEXT! NO INTERNET! You can internet on computer. When watching TV or shows on computer learn a craft or hobby to keep hands busy. I cross-stitch, scrap electronics (get some spending money), if you learn knitting or crochet you can make sweaters and blankets.
@@EWasteJILL First I’m NOT freaking young, not even close, female and wise enough to not walk thru a dark truck stop, I had a map and I know how to read it. I DID ask for directions at the tool booth to go north again, and I did in the parking lot, but the only person knew nothing. I drove through the trucks to the NJ turnpike and the navigation worked. But its routing was not good, putting me in an empty, very dark parking lot. Really, your response is making a ridiculous amount of assumptions. None of which are correct. The point is have better maps. And don’t trust navigation. And I know from a female trucker friend, truck stops at night can be dicey if you don’t have protection. Maybe next time I’ll call you for advice.
Btw, be aware when using a Compass, keep metal item away from the compass, it will affect the reading. Iron ore deposits or lodestone deposit will also affect the reading of your compass. It will send you all over the place. You must get out of that area. Be aware.
You got it wrong way round! 1) Medical / First Aid 2) Shelter including your clothing selection! 3) Water 4) Fire 5) Navigation / Signalling / Communication for the purposes of Self- Rescue to include aiding rescuers to locate you or achieving your own recovery!
I follow my dog through my woods every day. My blind spot would be snakes, never good at magic eye books , if they are in my path I am not going to see them.. I would need to have a sturdy walking stick I pounded the ground with as I went and hope for the best.
😂 it's kind of hard to take you seriously putting a cat picture Attack cat LOL keeps you warm in the cold nights and then when the Predator shows up it will go pour me out at it or you'll hear hissing at something LOL
*Our society is on the verge of collapse people don't grow their own food, gov't is highly corrupt, anyone who is not investing now is really missing a tremendous opportunity, imagine investing $2,000 and receiving $11,300.*
Absolutely! Everyone needs a different stream of income, having a job doesn't mean security due to the high rate of tax,one needs to move ahead of their expectation.
Your opinion that anyone should be able to start a fire in any conditions.. lmfao... most yall cant light your cigarette or joints... and if you think 😅
One " habbit" you did not list is ' to NEVER elect another Republican EVER in your lifetime. that way, many of the issues you listed will not be as harsh.

The cat is my favorite!!
Loved this video and your bushcat. I think she would be my #1 essential. What a beauty!
Lol. Thanks

A poncho does work. Stayed out in the wilderness overnight as part of my SAR TECH II training.

You can use bush cat as a hot water bottle you know! She won’t mind!😂

That little card is genius.. Love your channel Jason.. Regards, Durban, South Africa..
Thanks!
Great video. Thank you for the info and reminders to practice

Survival Cat heard about exploding kittens and decided to "Prepare for SHTF!" ❤ love your content.
You carry around survival gear in your hat. I’m following you.
Video bombed by bush cat lol hugs from uk
Excercise! Be in shape to be able to do all those other things.
Being dedicated construction worker helps

Great video brother
God bless you❤❤❤❤
Five Great Lessons that I do practice. Thanks for Sharing.
Very welcome
Nice video
Thanks
Awesome video sir.
Most useful cat video EVER!!! 😼
😅
Hey you said that Wazoo fire card was made out of the same material as guitar picks, why not order a set of heavy guitar picks?😊
The cat got me to subscribe
What a beauty 💜♥️
Great points! Thanks!
Thanks for the tips!
Thanks 😊
Nice video, THANKS 👍👍
Another spot on video. Thanks Jason we appreciate you.
Bushcat is your best survival tool.
I was going to say that isn't a cat, that is a MRE..
Jason, what about an analog wristwatch or wind-up pocket watch for naviguessing?
Or a button compass for a guesstimate. The skills you possess' determine how rudimentary you can get.
Fire and water for sure. I start fires pretty regularly but this summer was brutal and I didn't start any for about 3 months.

Another good video thanks for this
Your clothes are a great tinder source ALWAYS with you. Usually at least partially dry. You cut a part of your : t-shirt, socks, underwear you name it
Depends on material.
Good video, thanks for sharing , YAH bless brother !
Guitar pics just as good
My cats are serious hunters .
The cat is yo funny
You got it wrong way round! 1) Medical / First Aid 2) Shelter including your clothing selection! 3) Water 4) Fire 5) Navigation / Signalling / Communication for the purposes of Self- Rescue to include aiding rescuers to locate you or achieving your own recovery!
new subscriber great video one question where do i get the cap from ?
Pretty sure it's a Wazoo stache cap. Don't quote me.
Thats some cat. Taking out a bluejay is one thing, but taking out a whole deer leaving only the jawbone behind is something else.
I do enjoy watching gives me ideas, instead of Vaseline vs chapstick less mess.butn I haven't tried it yet myself, handy to
Kitty needs to learn too
A celluloid Guitar pick will light a fire also.
I know one thing for sure. I would not take a toaster oven as my one survival Item. Yes I watched that one too.
BushCat for the win !!!!!
My cat follme all threw the woods to with my two dogs and wife one big happy family going on a hike i love it o and some of my chickens as well
Lol. Awesome!
I follow my dog through my woods every day. My blind spot would be snakes, never good at magic eye books , if they are in my path I am not going to see them.. I would need to have a sturdy walking stick I pounded the ground with as I went and hope for the best.
Hard to keep the Vaseline off you? Its called a zip lock plastic bag. As for shelter, a G.I. Poncho. Or a light weight tarp.
do a video on how you are going to survive if shtf hits not just survival but everyday with the family
Learning to navigate without a compass is a good idea. Places with heavy iron deposits exist and renders a compass unusable.
There's always the old way the sun
Nice cat!
Jason, how close do you live to lexington ky, I want to hang out with you one day. I run a knife forge and would like to collaborate if you are close.
Thanks! That’s a fer piece from me. I live in North Ga.
Should have dug the hole and filtered the water.. Would have been interesting to watch and you think it would work..
Do it..! 👍
Like the card ideal they will be unless in a shtf and probably wouldn't hurt to just burn them now lol
Kitty! :)
You got your grayl at REI clearance.
That's how I got one of mine.
How much $$ ?
I keep a couple guitar picks in my wallet and in my pack.
Bro has a survival kit in his hat! 👒 😮
Yep!
Cats are more social than people give them credit for.
Yep!
Cat videos LOL
Youre in the woods, how can NOT find tinder?? lol
Algorithm algorithm algorithm algorithm
Your grandma's top 5 reasons you're getting a switch 😊😅...
Little more cat comments than productive comments LOL
Bush cat is a survival tool. #APEX
The X at the bottom of it is the giveaway.
😂 it's kind of hard to take you seriously putting a cat picture Attack cat LOL keeps you warm in the cold nights and then when the Predator shows up it will go pour me out at it or you'll hear hissing at something LOL
the wazoo code does not work?
I’ll check on that. Thanks!

Making money is all about investing in the right way, most failure and loss on investment usually happen when you invest without proper guide.
Ms Donna has really set the standard for others to follow, we love her here in the UK as she has been really helpful and changed lots of lives.
How did you do it? Do explain please 😯I’m New To This Please, How do I contact her My family have been into series of sufferings lately?
