- I know, know.. this took way longer to upload than i had orignially intended.. sorry! lol I was really picky on the editing in this vlog and honestly, i wish i filmed more and better stuff for you guys :( sorry it's all over the place and shaky ASF, i don't have the most steady hand.. but i still hope you guys enjoyed part two! This part of the vlog is more about meeting my family and learning what it's like to live in a Fijian village (I am from Bouma, Taveuni for those who may ask).
For my brother's ceremony, I wanted to make that a video all on its own because it was too long to include everything in a vlog. SO I'll have that link to the full video once it's finished!

I am now old and disabled. I know that there is no person or place that is without flaws or shortcomings, but what I love most about the Fijians is their appearance of being strong on family, feastive(and not for the sake of tourism) but a warm and friendly people. I would hope to visit there before I die.
My dad is Fijian and my mom is black I’ve been raised in America but I can’t wait to go to Fiji and embrace my people ❤️
I get it when her mum says "you can't wear that", cause in the village you have to wear decent clothes. Like wearing long skirts, sulus. Although, it's kinda hard to sit on the floor...

Isa,i had a close friend who was gonna get married in your village. I was so looking forward to meet her on her special day but Just a few months before her wedding I received the sad news that she had passed. It's sad, that i went to bury her instead. So much for looking forward.

In the village when I have spare skirts I wear them instead of sulu because its irritating when it falls down sometimes
The true, same, also it's hard to sit with your legs crossed on the floor with a sulu
I thought my mom was just kidding when she said I couldn’t wear pants so I didn’t bring that much sulu or skirts 🤦🏽♀️😂
After a few days she looks Fijian... I probably watched the one you did n u look like Pacific Islanders from Tonga, or Samoa but u indeed here

What are the requirements to visit a village in fiji.
Simply liaise with a local, and they'll explain more on the preparations prior to entering a village.

I subscribed to your channel last year and have been watching all of your videos. My friend (we both subscribed to your channel coz we liked it saoooooo much) then told me a couple of months later that you were from Taveuni (since I am from Taveuni too). I watched another video where you told us where you were from but you didn't specify which village (so I ended my search of where specifically you were from in Taveuni). Today my friend told me that you visited Fiji over the holidays and that you went to "your" village. I clicked to watch the video and right after the intro I stopped, coz I identified Tata Paulo Vuki (your driver who happens to be my dad's first cousin) in the video. I was too scared to keep watching but my friend encouraged me to go on. I went on watching and I have a feeling we might be cousins because I am related to majority of the people that were in the video. Tata Jone Katoni was the one cutting the green coconut AKA "Bu" for you. Nau Melania (but we call her Nau Solo) was the old lady in green jaba that said "Bula" to you.
