I had been a Protestant who came the Catholic Church as an adult, had a similar issue with praying the Rosary, reading about this, I slowly began to realize the focus of the rosary on was on Christ. Became to pray it and had the growth of peace and found myself becoming fully Catholic.

I’m Latino, was raised Catholic, and had a full parochial education, although I didn’t particularly behave well, having been in high school in the late 70s. Through my 20’s and early 30’s I was a lost, non practicing Catholic living a life of debauchery. I had gone to a protestant university and had entertained and adopted some of their anti Catholic views. I eventually returned to Catholicism, but struggled with reacquainting myself with Mary. Having been raised Latino, my mother and her friends often prayed the Rosary, did the Advent prayer routines, the King’s cake thing etc... I was resistant to praying the Rosary because I thought it was pretty much only for women. Almost 2 years ago, I saw a Catholic TH-camr who had also struggled with the Rosary, but he issued a challenge to pray the Rosary daily. I took the challenge and began properly praying the Rosary. The effect was not instantaneous, nor dramatic, but I noticed my spiritual health begin to improve. I can’t explain how, but I felt myself being drawn closer to Christ and this increased my desire to study Catholicism, the Saints, and read the Bible. I now pray the Rosary at least daily, usually twice a day, along with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. I now regularly attend Mass without fail. I urge everyone to pick up your old neglected Rosary and begin praying it. You’ll be surprised how Mary will draw you closer to her son, Jesus. As what Luke wrote about our Blessed Mother, “ My being proclaims the greatness of the Lord”. Amen, God Bless.

you wrote - _'.....but struggled with reacquainting myself with Mary.'_ - no wonder - she isn't alive, she isn't Deity, she didn't die to save you and she isn't the focus of Christianity. so chanting to her (the dead) with rosary 'beads' (as the Muslims do .... oh, they also demote Jesus Christ) isn't following Truth, but actually wasting your time.
_'You'll be surprised how Mary will draw you closer to her son, Jesus.'_ - *Nonsense* - Christians go directly to Him (1 Tim 2:5) since He is the only Mediator between us and -the pagan 'pope'- God the only Father.
see please Ecc 9:5 and try to comprehend - Mary isn't alive, Sir.

OT & NT is plagued with similar references (Ex, Dt, Num, Ps, Ez, Lk, Gal, etc). Secondly, our Blessed Mother had a special grace to be the Mother of God henceforth for her assumption into heaven she came in body and soul I.e she is alive (this is a Catholic dogma). This one, you would only understand when you seek truth earnestly. Thirdly, I do not get why you believe in Christ as you seem not to believe in resurrection of the dead. Hello John.
My own two cents. Did you know that in the Bible, in both the Old and the New Testament, all Believers always pray DIRECTLY to God the Father. And in the New Testament it's always directly to God the Father, "in the name of Jesus". No New Testament writer ever mentioned praying to Mary and in fact when the disciples asked Jesus himself how to pray he said:
"... your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come..."
      Matthew 6:8‭-‬9
      And...
"But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you."
      Matthew 6:6
"Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it."
      John 14:13‭-‬14
And in God's Word Jesus himself intercedes for us, not his human mother. This is exactly what it says:
"Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them."
      Hebrews 7:25
"Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us."
      Romans 8:34
      And the Holy Spirit:
"In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words..."
      Roman 8:26
The Lord God Almighty tells us exactly how to pray in his Word (the Bible). DIRECTLY to him. He does not leave it up to us.
And that's good enough for me.

Mary is not just a saint, she is the Ark of the New Covenant, The NT Gebirah, Daughter of Zion and the woman of revelation that is why we pray for her protection and intercession.
SUPPLICATION (DEFINITION) - The action of asking or begging for something earnestly or humbly.

2- There is only one body of Christ, not one on earth and another one in heaven.

Not me , not all of us.

Why would anyone invite a dead saint to walk with them when they can walk with God? Searching out anyone other than God is idol worship. Mary has a job to do like many other people for the glory of God. Like many others she did it marvelously but that is where her job ends.

You have no understanding of Mary or the saints, and very little, evidently, of the Resurrection of Jesus and it’s meaning for the Church and all mankind.

@@jimreilly917 I am pretty sure God explained all He needed to about Mary and the saints and what happens to our earthly bodies. The bible tells us a lot, most of all, salvation.
