I had gone to a protestant university and had entertained and adopted some of their anti Catholic views. I eventually returned to Catholicism, but struggled with reacquainting myself with Mary. Having been raised Latino, my mother and her friends often prayed the Rosary, did the Advent prayer routines, the King’s cake thing etc... I was resistant to praying the Rosary because I thought it was pretty much only for women. The effect was not instantaneous, nor dramatic, but I noticed my spiritual health begin to improve. I can’t explain how, but I felt myself being drawn closer to Christ and this increased my desire to study Catholicism, the Saints, and read the Bible. Intercessory prayers are instructed by St. Paul in 1 TIMOTHY 2:1. What does EPHESIANS 6:18 says? MAKING SUPPLICATION FOR ALL THE SAINTS ! Mary is not just a saint, she is the Ark of the New Covenant, The NT Gebirah, Daughter of Zion and the woman of revelation that is why we pray for her protection and intercession. SUPPLICATION (DEFINITION) - The action of asking or begging for something earnestly or humbly. EPHESIANS 6:18 Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. As intercessors all members are " mediators". according to Catholicism and Scripture: 1- The Church is the body of Christ 2- There is only one body of Christ, not one on earth and another one in heaven. 3- Death does not separate the members of the body. 4- Christians are bound by the Law of Christ to love and pray for one another.
True, The Lord Jesus alone RECEIVES/CHANNELS our prayers to the Father 1Tim 2:5 . But who alone can GIVE the Lord Jesus all the prayers they ought to? Not me , not all of us. where there a billion Mama Marys , saints and angels, praying/with and for us (all in Jesus name), they'll still not exhaust the Lord Jesus' inexhaustible Divine Mercy. Like the song says "I have made You too small in my eyes". The Lord Jesus is mightier than we may think. Mary was not the only or perfect example of a Christian. Christ tells John the Baptist is. Mary in several places was clueless as to the role of her Son. She did not understand why he would be in His Father's house when He was gone for three days and in Mark, she though he was out of His mind.
Fantastic! 🎉
Haven't you ever questioned yourself why Paul never talked about Mary in his epistles or any other epistles?
The Apostle John did-- you know, the one whom Jesus loved and one of the original Apostles? Remember?
@@worthwhilediscussion that's the gospel of John. Mary is part of the gospels because she's the mother of Jesus as a human being but she's not the mother of God or queen of the universe like the catholic religion says she is. And Paul or any other epistles never mentioned Mary. Why ? Because she not as important as the catholic religion says she is.
The Mary you think you're talking about is not the true Mary we see in Scripture.
As true Christians we would never dishonour the Mother of Jesus by making every claim you Catholics make.
Jesus is who you're supposed to love, honour and serve. You know Jesus right? God made manifest in the flesh? Died for man's Salvation; paid the price for Sin?
Anyway, as you are a R.C. Pagan idol worshipper, you need to understand the Mary you "idolise" (it's true..you do!) is in reality a demon/devil and has you in it's power, making certain you take a path that leads to damnation.
Repent and be Saved
My own two cents. Did you know that in the Bible, in both the Old and the New Testament, all Believers always pray DIRECTLY to God the Father. And in the New Testament it's always directly to God the Father, "in the name of Jesus". No New Testament writer ever mentioned praying to Mary and in fact when the disciples asked Jesus himself how to pray he said:
"... your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come..."
Matthew 6:8-9
And...
"But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you."
Matthew 6:6
"Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it."
John 14:13-14
And in God's Word Jesus himself intercedes for us, not his human mother. This is exactly what it says:
"Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them."
Hebrews 7:25
"Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us."
Romans 8:34
And the Holy Spirit:
"In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words..."
Roman 8:26
The Lord God Almighty tells us exactly how to pray in his Word (the Bible). DIRECTLY to him. He does not leave it up to us.
And that's good enough for me.
To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,
LUKE 1:28 HAIL FULL OF GRACE
ROMANS 16:6 Salute Mary, who hath laboured much among you.
Saints and angels in heaven interceding for us in REVELATION 4, 5, 6, 8.
"Mediator" is Christ alone in one sense. As intercessors all members are " mediators". according to Catholicism and Scripture:
1- The Church is the body of Christ
2- There is only one body of Christ, not one on earth and another one in heaven.
A trillion more "saints, Mama Mary's, angels", calling on His name, will not, sorry never exhaust His listening ear nor His love.
The Lord Jesus alone RECEIVES,
can you alone GIVE ?
The Church never teaches that Mama Mary, the saints and angels steal from the Lord Jesus' grandeur.
Catechism 970
St Louis Marie de Montfort Total consecration prayer day 26
We need all the intercession we can get, (we need, not the Lord Jesus).
@@alfray1072 You will notice Paul was talking about the living not the dead. Eph 6:18 is talking about living saints. Those that follow Christ are saints. The church isn't the one that decides who a saint is. Mary is just a saint but in this case a dead one.
@@sammygomes7381 The church has the authority to bind and loose and declare doctrines because it is directly given by Jesus himself in MATTHEW 16:18-19, not the false sola scriptura doctrine. 2ND, Saints in heaven are more alive than us here on earth, they are the "clouds of witnesses" as St. Paul states it. FYI Saints and angels are seen by Apostle John in his revelation interceding and praying by offering prayers via golden bowls and incenses in REVELATION 4, 5, 6, 8.
@@alfray1072 The Christ gave His church only the authority to loose and bind within the the law, not outside of it. For instance the church had no authority to change the 2 nd commandment, or change the Sabbath. How can sola scriptura be wrong when you just used it. Sola Scripture is strictly the word of God. So you're saying the word of God is a false doctrine? There are no saints or angels interceding on anyone's behalf in Rev. What they have are bowls of incense which are the prayers of us below from the beginning of time.
What role did Mary have beyond bearing the Christ-child?
She bore him? She assented to bearing him of her own free will? She obeyed God's command and allowed the world's Salvation to enter it? What more role does she need to play?
@@strikevipermkII That is what Alan Hight said. She did nothing most woman would do for their child
@@strikevipermkII He Son is King of Heaven and Earth; she therefore has a more enhanced role than your average mother. Look up what the Queen of Israel was responsible for...remember the Queen was ALWAYS the King's mother, not his wife. Read how Solomon responds to his mother in 1Kings2. Find out for yourself. God bless
@@sherrywhite1517 Preaching to the choir. I find it helpful to start where protestants agree and move from there.
Mary is dead and plays absolutely *ZERO* role in our salvation - as Jesus Christ has done it all!
this is necromancy, idolatry and paganism.
*Happy Sabbath!!!*
Sad. I’ve heard this protestant drivel for decades and every one of your false cliche statements. I would never speak ill of, or disrespect anybody’s mother, much less to the mother of Jesus. Read your Bible, you’ll find the Catholic Church is correct in its views about our Blessed Mother Mary.
@@drvijil hi D! thanks for your reply Sir.
you wrote: _'I would never speak ill of, or disrespect anybody's mother...'_ - Truth doesn't = ill nor disrespect. my mother too is asleep now.
_'Read your Bible...'_ - i have, now i teach It!
_'...you'll find the Catholic Church is correct in its views about our Blessed Mother Mary.'_ - while Mary was blessed, she is now dead and knows 'nothing'.
in Fact, It was the Word of Truth (John 17:17) that saved me from the catholic 'church' , friend!
i enjoy teaching Truth to all who have a bit of integrity.
Truth invites investigation! - while catholicism runs from It.
*Happy Sabbath!!!*
sun just sank and that means It's the Lords day here in Texas!
i pray church is a blessing in the morning for all who believe and love Jesus Christ!
@@tony1685 Incorrect. Read Revelation Ch. 12. Mary is the Queen of heaven, which is consistent with the royal line of David, in which the Mother of the King, was the Queen Mother. Luke states that Mary would be considered Blessed by all generations.
I tell you what, why don’t you name the scripture that mentions the death of Mary.
@@drvijil and not to forget that she can’t be dead because no one is dead in Christ for He is Life! This guy tony always goes searching for any Catholic video, even more obscure ones. He’s an SDA. They believe they’re Christian despite being founded by a deranged woman with failed prophecies and whacky “history”. She founded this satanic pseudo Christian cult by branching out of a group with several failed Second Coming prophecies. You’ll see tony often the more you navigate Catholic TH-cam, always accusing, hissing at the Woman like only the seed of the serpent can do. He is in deep need of prayers.
BEGONE SATAN!! SDA IS SATANIC
Why would anyone invite a dead saint to walk with them when they can walk with God? Searching out anyone other than God is idol worship. Mary has a job to do like many other people for the glory of God. Like many others she did it marvelously but that is where her job ends.
You have no understanding of Mary or the saints, and very little, evidently, of the Resurrection of Jesus and it’s meaning for the Church and all mankind.
@@jimreilly917 I am pretty sure God explained all He needed to about Mary and the saints and what happens to our earthly bodies. The bible tells us a lot, most of all, salvation.
