I’m really interested in how one can be “stamped” with signlessness.
Also, as an aside, as a person who has some experience as a monastic living with a zen master,
I can fully attest that there definitely a field of influence for sure! In Japanese I think it’s refered to as “ba,” meaning simply field. But it is amazing. I’ve seen magical encounters of many different varieties. What’s really special is how the Roshi doesn’t even consider these encounters remarkable. Anyone who is interested in exploring the depths, I recommend you seek out a teacher and sangha body. They will absolutely bring these teachings to life.

Im loving it so far and I will stick to the end. Just firing out a random thought ad letting it go. The books. None of them look like they have been touched. Except for the one that you are going to read from. I know you will have read the others, but the ones behind you, are they ceremonial for a purpose or the hard backs for the community that don't get touched?

I opened up a Jeweled Lotus my first store draft of Magic the Gathering. Memorable in itself, I looked up jeweled lotus and wound up on a video later in the series. “For those just now joining us in the series”

    This is great. Thank you!
One tiny suggestion- if at all possible, could you take a decent photo of your whiteboards and post links to them? It’s hard to read in the video and a higher quality picture would be amazing.
    Just if it’s possible :)

Thanks for the suggestion Robyn, we're going to start doing this - check out Tuesday's video, which will have a link to the whiteboard!

Lichhavi was one of the 16 small republics in North India during the time period being discussed here. Vaishali was the capital of Lichhavi.
Regarding descriptions of bodily "lakshanas": comparisions like "deer like feet" or "lion like chest" are not literal hahaha. They are poetic expressions, eg the softness, swiftness and chubbiness of a deer's foot(the reddish plump feet and palms with very faint palm lines, are considered auspicious), the majesty, the strong courageous demenour evoked by "lion's chest" etc.
The general idea is that body is a reflection of the karmas. As the nature of mind changes, the karma alters, and the changes precipitates onto the body. The Buddha's body is said to have possessed all the lakshanas except the protrudence on the forehead, which he got on enlightenment. A few of those signs or some other lesser signs can be found on human beings other than dharma adepts, who are relatively advanced in few qualities of the inner nature.

Really appreciate the gender-neutral translation. I've indeed been nauseated by old translations.
