85-90% is pretty good. In theory, could it be ground up even more in a ball mill, to say 100-300 mesh, and liberate 95-99%? Or would all the gold just float off the shaker table?

Yes, In theory the recovery could be increased by finer grind with a ball mill, but there is a point of diminishing returns. There will never be a way to recover 100% either so it all comes down to the cost per ounce to recover.

Flush the impact mill. Adding wet rock I'd think has a slurry on the flat side walls and octangular walls.

Yes, the impact mill needs to be run wet to keep it moving

just in case any of you are wondering, they don't make that unit that they're using here in this video anymore. they only make a one ton per hour unit and nothing smaller. I guess there's room for another manufacturer to do that. And the price has gone up because they added a spiral classifier.
