this game terrified the hell out of me when I was a kid. The failing part was the worst. the count down and not knowing where to go UGH hello nightmares. I dont think I clicked on one hint. probly couldnt read
monsterstereo shit im glad im not the only one. i played the hell out of it but some parts of it just unnerved me so much. i also had a 3d body game made by the same company that was creepy a fuck.
same!!!!! It use to scare the hell out of me. But I loved the game at the same time. I use to have nightmares (and still do) about Jurassic Park and them chasing me. lol i know. I am crazy. lol.
Rocky54167, you just made me REALLY happy by uploading this vid/ gameplay:-) I used to play it all the time on my Packard Bell computer during the early 90's! It surely brings back good old memories from my childhood. Thanks a lot.
Oh man, I played this so long ago! I always felt so scared and isolated when I tried it and used to have my dad help me. Then I felt so proud when I completed it on my own! And I was a bit stupid, missing that they TOLD you what period each dinosaur was from. Yeah...
Thank thank thank you! I've been searching for this game for years! I couldn't remember the name. It was a cherished game my older brother and I played as little kids. Thank you kind sir.
Whoah, I THINK this was the first videogame I ever played. Must have been like 3-4 when they had a PC in my kindergarten. Fun times. Also freaked me out a bit sometimes lol.
The roaring and screeching sounds you hear whenever you enter a time period was reused in the Windows remake for the introduction of the game, before the 3D Allosaurus movie started.
I really enjoyed this awesome game. i was also scared out of my pants when i was face to face with the dromeosaurus went RRRRAAAAAGGGHH! Oh boy was that a shock!! But the game was still lots of fun.
I can't say because i never played American Adventure beffore. But the guys who did the voices in this one did alot of Knowledge Adventure games of the time.
For some reason, Knowledge Adventure games always had a part that defied science (ex. this game had going back in time, and 3D Body Adventure had going inside the body... which I love, but I only like the John Davis part in that game.) I feel like the producer from the Magic School Bus.
@Rocky54167 I don't know about The Lost World, but I do know that Procompsognathus is in the book Jurassic Park, though it is replaced by Compsognathus in the movie version.
Ah, okay. I was asking because there was also a demo on that disk for a game I am fairly sure was called "Legends and Myths". It was about finding clues in a fantasy world to save three cyclops children from a witch. It also had art and mythology from around the world. I have yet to find more information on it and I was just wondering if you'd heard of that demo. And Putt Putt and Freddy Fish both rock! I had all of those games as a kid. ^^
I hate it playing is part of the game cuz everytime I turn the corner the velociraptors were there and they will go "RRRRR" AND IT WOULD SCARE THE CRAP OUT OF ME LOL
Even today, that made my heart leap for a second and these days I can play just about any horror game without flinching. I guess there's still a small part of that little kid in me that was absolutely fucking terrified by those things and refused to touch the save the dinosaurs minigame ever again as soon as those fucking things popped out of nowhere.
Whoever voiced in this game (The one you hear as most male voices except for the storybook and Reference Section) was great at acting! He should've been a bigger voice acting star like Jim Cummings and Tara Strong.
i can say i played this game alot. Orignaly i just wanted to beat it but i kept on failing. That was when this game had only music. When i got the sound i finnaly firgured out what did what i had to do and what cost time!
Remember the part where the dinosaur sees you and starts running at the screen?? I used to scare my little sister saying it saw her and was gonna eat her and she would scream and cry hahahaha the memories..
I have been. Oh, those take me back. :) Btw, this might seem pretty random but do you have or did you ever have a disk of various computer game demos called "CD-ROM Today"? One of the demos would have been for "Putt Putt Saves the Zoo" and another one was for a Sesame Street game. ^^;
yes 3-D Body Adventure was made by knowledge Adventure like 3-D Dinosaur Adventure BUT i don't there the same game.....3-D Body did have a Zoomscape game like this which i just posted here on youtube a couple of days ago
Believe it or not I forgot about Segisaurus before watching your videos, so I looked up and it was apparently a Coelurasaur, related to Coelophysis. Further research done in '05 indicates that it was perhaps more closely related to Procompsognathus.
I wonder if all these early games were so scary because they were SO NEW to us and society? The FIRST computer games of their kind, yeah, there were video games, but...
I remember trying to complete this and only finding out that I could shoot the bugs when I got surrounded by them and hit the space bar in a panic. Lol.
@ZeldaQueen64 lol man i used to miss that TO! yeah my grandfather used to help me alot in this part of 3-D Dinosaur Adventure. Yeah check out my other 3- Dinoaur Adventure videos i have almost everything frm the game posteed

monsterstereo oh yeah that used to scare me as a kid especially the game over part
This whole packard bell pack-in game series was a huge part of my childhood. Thanks for the upload.
Nostalgia. I remember playing this on my Packard Bell computer. My first computer and pc games.
All I remember from this game was running into the velociraptors around a corner and hearing "RAAAAAAAR"
Me too bro....
That’s what I came here for lol was about 90% accurate to how it played in my head
Rocky54167, you just made me REALLY happy by uploading this vid/ gameplay:-) I used to play it all the time on my Packard Bell computer during the early 90's! It surely brings back good old memories from my childhood. Thanks a lot.
I loved those painful paper 3d glasses
Oh man, I played this so long ago! I always felt so scared and isolated when I tried it and used to have my dad help me. Then I felt so proud when I completed it on my own!
And I was a bit stupid, missing that they TOLD you what period each dinosaur was from. Yeah...
Oh SNAP! Is that Harlan Ellison narrating?
Thank thank thank you! I've been searching for this game for years! I couldn't remember the name. It was a cherished game my older brother and I played as little kids. Thank you kind sir.
I love the dromeosaurus lines. Thank you for uploading this.
I had no clue what the fuck this game was as a toddler. My dad sat me down on this or the NES while I had solo existential crises
Really? Thank heavens, I couldn't find any information on it. I was starting to think it was a hallucination. ^^;
Cool! I can't wait to see them. :)
I agree. I always feared turning the wrong corner for having those raptors scream at me!
Whoah, I THINK this was the first videogame I ever played. Must have been like 3-4 when they had a PC in my kindergarten. Fun times. Also freaked me out a bit sometimes lol.
This game scared me so much that I didn't even play the games because I couldn't get past the cut scenes lol! 😂
Sounds like he says, "FUUUUU-" at 6:07

I just nostalgia'd all over the place. This game defined my childhood.
I can't say because i never played American Adventure beffore. But the guys who did the voices in this one did alot of Knowledge Adventure games of the time.
Very good game for an old 1989 DOS computer
For some reason, Knowledge Adventure games always had a part that defied science (ex. this game had going back in time, and 3D Body Adventure had going inside the body... which I love, but I only like the John Davis part in that game.) I feel like the producer from the Magic School Bus.
Ho my gawd, what a blast from the past.
Spoiler alert: you didn't save any of them
@Rocky54167 I don't know about The Lost World, but I do know that Procompsognathus is in the book Jurassic Park, though it is replaced by Compsognathus in the movie version.
Am I the only one who got scared of this part as a kid? ;w;
Man, this game brings back memories.
Ah, okay.

Yay! Another epic game!!!! Wow, goes WAY back!!!
I hate it playing is part of the game cuz everytime I turn the corner the velociraptors were there and they will go "RRRRR" AND IT WOULD SCARE THE CRAP OUT OF ME LOL

Me too! loool
I'd like to thank Doc Brown for being the main dinosaur
Yeah the game was alot of fun but i got over the dromeosuaurus as i got older
Whoever voiced in this game (The one you hear as most male voices except for the storybook and Reference Section) was great at acting! He should've been a bigger voice acting star like Jim Cummings and Tara Strong.

Once Again Your Welcome and enjoy!
I used to spend the entire time running into dromaeosaurus and screaming

Thank you. I was trying to remember this game.
My brother used to think that dromaeosaurus was a cousin of "the lacerator". I later learned that it was "veclociraptor".
I was searching for this, trying to re-call what it was called..oh the memories.
The Dromeosaurs scared the crap out of me (cause I was like nine.) You turn the courner only to hear "RRRRAAAAAAAGGGHHHHH!" Jumped out of my seat.
this reminds me of my child hood growing up in the 90s this game was so scary then
"Let's play... Save the Dinosaurs!!" Line FTW
I remember trying to complete this and only finding out that I could shoot the bugs when I got surrounded by them and hit the space bar in a panic. Lol.
Oh my gosh I loved this game :)
@ZeldaQueen64 lol man i used to miss that TO! yeah my grandfather used to help me alot in this part of 3-D Dinosaur Adventure. Yeah check out my other 3- Dinoaur Adventure videos i have almost everything frm the game posteed
THIS game...I remember this game...
i was one of the many people like you who hadn;t played it in a while untill i got DOSBox to work
Wow I completely forgot this existed but now I remember being terrified because I could never finish saving all the dinosaurs!!!
yes a good blast from the past here
why was this so creepy when i was a kid?
No music, empty halls impending doom. Unsettling atmosphere.
Is that Bill Corbett narrating?
I remember I was always afraid to play this certain activity. I don't remeber why.
@Funleeshed Yeah, probably, this was an awesome game. I still probably have the disc somewhere.
@Geverything i never really hated this game but i could see why people don't like it
NOSTALGIA.
Ahhhh memories
@thediremoose well techically yes because certain types of dinosaurs died out before others did
@Aldarxor great memories right?
@ZeldaQueen64 now but i do have the windows version of putt putt saves the zoo got it with the original freddy fish with my moms Packard Bell Windows 98 First edition back in 1998 lol. still have the full version of the disc floating around somewhere
When I buy my own house, I am going to buy one of these old Packard Bell computers off eBay!
I had no idea you could shoot the bugs
and i remember playing this when i was a little boy
@FoodNegotiator i am glad you do get to see this again!
yeah alot of these people who voiced this game were in alot of Knowledge Adventure games and he should be bigger than Jim Cummings and Tara Strong
@ZeldaQueen64 yes i had been meaning to get back to you it was legends and myths! i am going to see if i can download it somewhere
Why when you get to the open field with the dinosaurs, do I hear turkies after a second or two?
I was born in 1985 and I remember this game...

did you lose the game on the CD it was on
yea when i was younger i always got nervous on trying to beat it before time ran out

@ZeldaQueen64 i will look up legends and myths and see if i find any info on it.
yes it was a very cool game
did u hate all of 3-D DInosaur adventure or just Save The Dinosaurs?
i know what u mean when i first played this game it only had music no voice or sound effects cause my uncle only installed mimal on Windows 95 so i didn;'t what they were doing or saying untill i got full sound untill 8 months later and it was like scary at first in this level but then i got over it
That voice at the beginning must be the same guy who voiced in America Adventure (outside the Reference Section).
Thank you so much!
This is ironically completely unlike how I remember it. Imagination meant a lot back then it seems.
Well there actually various different versions of the games. So there is a chance you either played the windows version, this version floppy or OEM.
i am a huge simpsons fan i know what episode your talking about its from the 6th season Episode 117 Barts comet. Funny Episode now i vagley remember that Arthur episode but not that much i never watchjed it that much but i do remember the theme song HEY what a wonderful kind of day and i can't rmeember the other lryics
