i can’t be the only one who hears the little under cover of night and covenant dance motif in hang brain, such a cool lil easter egg. makes the this whole album even more special.
Hang Brain was my Bungie Celebration track which I felt would be appropriate for such a pivotal and self-referential moment, it's made up of (in order:) Swirls (M1), New Pacific (M1), Pursuit of Truth/Leela (Halo 2, M1, and my little joke about Marty having no idea what the Leela theme was when writing it), Under Cover of Night (Halo 1), In Amber Clad (Halo 2), Covenant Dance (Halo 1), and Siege of Madrigal (Myth). It's the only overtly Bungie cover song so I packed it with some of my favorite Marty/Mike Bungie themes.
As much as I love Euphoria and Feel the Noise, this is whole another level. Repentant, Pearls of Consciousness, Atmospheric Surfing, and of course Aye Mak Sicur, the perfect song for that level...
I noticed during the second half of 'Husked' that it sounded familiar and I went back to the Marathon Resurrection Ost and found that its a remix of 'Aliens Voyage' from that soundtrack and I think thats a really cool call back for those who know.
I was actually pretty opposed to the idea of a soundtrack for these until I heard Alien Voyage on Waterloo. The atmosphere you get with just ambience is pretty incredible, but when I booted up the M2SE plugin I was convinced that you can do both.
I searched for information about the lack of soundtrack in the Marathon sequels and came across your album. At the time I didn’t even realize what kind of gold I had found. While playing through the game, I was constantly blown away by the depth of the pads and the madness of the synthetic riffs and arpeggios. At each new level I had to remind myself that this is an unofficial soundtrack. "Marathon 2 Special Edition Soundtrack" is amazing. But I just fell in love with this album. Due to the authentic sound of the 90s and early 00s, it often seemed as if real titans of demoscene music had worked on the album. Absolutely incredible work. For me, your album is a true OST of Marathon Infinity.
Just replayed the trilogy using the fan OST mods for 2/3. While both are very good, 2 seems to blow its wad during Requiem for a Cyborg, making the remaining levels feel weak. On the other hand, the Infinity OST mod does a fantastic job building up a motif (trih xeem theme?) over the course of the whole game (especially if you visit all the failed timeline end secret levels along the way) and then reaches a crescendo during the final level. The Aye Mak Sicur theme really encapsulates the feeling of finishing the fight; not just in Infinity, but the for the whole trilogy.

Absolutely incredible! I just finished my first play-through of M1 and M2 in probably 15 years. I'm replaying them as they are added to Steam so that I can sort of treat them each as a "new" release. My love of the M1 soundtrack (and Marathon Eternal's) has only grown with age and the absence of music in M2 is now even more notable. When Infinity is released on Steam I'll have these playing.
@@talashar9321 Yup, I found it in the workshop! Wish I had realized there was music available in the workshop for M2. Oh well. I just finished my Total Carnage run for Infinity last night and the music was all absolutely perfect. I can't imagine playing without it. Personally this is now the official Infinity Soundtrack. Well done!
Just as good if not better than the Marathon 2 fan tracks. "Where Are Monsters" got the feel of the level perfectly and took my breath away the first time I heard it. Great work.
Love the soundtrack. If i could make a suggestion though, I am of the opinion that Where are Monsters in dreams shouldn't have a BGM. It should almost feel like the game has bugged. Idk that's just an opinion of mine.
Fun fact I actually didn't even want to have music on Ne Cede Malis, but I anticipated (correctly) that the Gamers would freak out and think it was bugged, so there's music on every level now. The most I could get away with is having music not be constant.
I completed a playthrough of the Marathon trilogy a few days ago and I'm going to be recording a playthrough with some friends. Would it be overstepping to make use of your music in my videos?
Poor Yorick and Thing What Kicks are some absolute bangers. Perfect for listening to both in game and when working.
i consistently keep coming back to Poor Yorick, such a good and catchy track!!! overall amazing vibes throughout the whole album 💚💚💚
"husked" has such a nice subdued tone that I can see it mixing well with the background sound effects present in the level.

@@talashar9321i also love the callbacks to other fan ost’s like marathon resurrection in husked and atmospheric surfing

This album slap, enjoyed it listening to it with the sountrack mod for Marathon Infinity
This soundtrack really made it justice to the opressive feeling of Marathon Infinity. And it does feel like a nature continuation of M2SE soundtrack

@@talashar9321I agree with this personally since the ambiance in Ne Cede Malis is perfect, but the track you did for it is still really good.

Nope! Please do, just credit me somewhere so people know where to find it.
