Thanks Simon really fascinating insight into Vietnamese village life. I think it’s amazing how the Vietnamese adapt to their environment and make the most of and utilise everything.
I would imagine it takes years to get an established Fruitree but once you’ve planted the seeds then you know for generations that if you take care and nurture it, it will take care of you.
Brilliant little hoist system they have there beats filling a hod and climbing ladders as we used to do.
As you say it’s all about finding that balance between family and work life but that’s always the same whatever plate we live on.
Let’s hope the tourist situation improves over the next year.

Thanks Paul. Yeah adapt and overcome. All full of smiles too. Glad you liked the video Paul. Yeah let's hope travel starts in April next year but Vietnam give us time and tell us. 🤔

Wow, that's wild. Never knew they'd have it sprawling everywhere to dry like that. The village must plant their fields on a rotation so there's space for each batch to dry in turn? Good thing Ginger doesn't eat rice lol. Lucky she didn't give you a clip round the ear when you told her how to stack them...whilst just standing there watching her do it lol. Don't worry about putting your family first, it's normal, nobody would have any problem with the video frequency decreasing by half or something so you can get a better balance.

Yeah it's a mad time. I have footage of it all over the main roads too with heavy trucks and buses going by, avoiding it by driving down the centre of the road. 😳 There isn't really a rota as such, just people use their own yards or out front or side of their houses. Once its dried they bag it up and sell it. There were fields harvested after others so it helped I suppose but generally everyone gets their rice and profit out quickly. Problem is mate, I get so stuck in to something I want to make work, I don't like to fail and that kind of drives me on and on and does take over. I have not done a Travek Agent Hanoi video in nearly two weeks as news was depressing here about the 4th wave, that took its toll too. I'll be fine though mate, soldier on. 🤞🏻👌🏻

Interesting you say about taking things for granted , I live by the Pembrokeshire coast in West wales beautiful beaches and hills within 20 minutes of where I live but I take it for granted. So Interesting to see how they dry the rice , 40dg that bloody hot I've been in Perth Australia when it was that so I know how it feels with 80% humidity just can't describe how hot it is . Seeing them working doing building its just amazing , a genius bit of kit to get the bricks up to the top amazing how hard these women work in Vietnam . I really enjoying these videos and have been putting them on Facebook.

Hey thanks Michael, that's great. If everyone shared one video it would really boost our channel, thanks for that. Yeah it's damn hot, cooled down this week though but heatwave is back next I believe. Taking a few things for granted these days so I need to reassess my goals. Thanks Michael.

I really want to talk to these people, they are awesome. Oh yes mate, Ngats Private Hanoi Street Food Tour is superb...we did have 10 dishes but mere mortals couldn't eat as much as me 😜 So we brought it down to 7 including a dessert and bottle of water! Shameless plug www.foodtourshanoi.com 😂

very interesting video again as i learn a bit more of the life there. so it looks as if walking and maybe bikes on the drying rice is ok if done slowly. what about dew there? what if a surprise rain comes? is there not trouble with rats and birds eating the grain. i love how nothing is wasted during the process from harvesting to final product.

    • @VietnamVillageLife

Thanks Dave, glad you liked it, lost 2 subscribers from this though, strange! Yeah, slowly, otherwise you end up like the lady in this video (th-cam.com/video/E4GbkkpYJP0/w-d-xo.html) 😳
They put it out in the alleyways after first thing, so no dew. If the rains come, they start clearing it up. Or if there is a sudden downpour it's all hands to the pump and bag it up or cover it quickly. Birds eat a little, no rats venture in during the day as people usually tend to it constantly turning it over and over and over. Yeah its been a long time, like clockwork...would love to know what date these fields started...even those here probably wouldn't know! 😳

As much as I love your videos please don't let it effect your family we all understand you have a young son and one very pregnant wife that you need to be with also and you also need some down time but I also understand why you are doing what you do .

Thanks Joanne, yeah with it being the only thing to keep me occupied I get quite engrossed in it like anything I do...it takes over. I've reeled it in on travel agent Hanoi at least, that's short of content for now but working on something to keep subs happy. 👌🏻
