my dad lives/grew up in San Francisco, and i love to visit him. and whenever we walk past a homeless person, whether he just spent money, or he does not have much on him, he always gives at least 1$ to them. i realized that the reason he does this is because when people are down he always try's to cheer them up, and the homeless need a hero, so he gives them one. this realization made me grow up loving to help in any way i could. and when i grow up i want to be able to give everything i can, to the homeless, whether i just spent money, or i dont have much on me. because my dad is my hero, so i want to fallow in his footsteps, and hopefully one day. That was a great message. The best I have seen in a good while. I used to live in a bad condition when I was a kid in India but Education and the quest for a better life changed my course of life. Give them access to good education and prop them up with good skills and they will get better in life. I am not rich now but I am able to live a better life now.

I live in a rich family in a very nice area and I have never really heard the word "poor" often. I have only come to realize in the last few years that I am extremely privileged and there is another side. I went into the city with my parents to go spend thousands of dollars on items when i saw taking a short cut through an alleyway the first homeless person I had ever seen. It made me feel extremely guilty that I saw someone living in the cold and with nothing, while I have just spent so much money on items. I also have a massive warm house to go home to that is way to big for us, and could probably house at least a dozen more people in it. I reached into my pockets and I only had notes and my parents card. I gave him a $50 that I had and told him "I hope this helps" and continued on my way to the car.

A beautiful insight once again into the known and often ignored harsh realities on planet earth....hoping there can be some way the rich can help the poor...some collaborative effort between the govts NGOs missionaries and other institutions which is transparent at all levels of functioning and which does help the poor help themselves..there is ample know how , human and material resources and funds that can be obtained...but if there was one honest multidisciplinary institution in every village town and city that would manage things professionally and honestly then we have some hope for change...

I live in a rich family in a very nice area and I have never really heard the word "poor" often. I have only come to realize in the last few years that I am extremely privileged and there is another side. I went into the city with my parents to go spend thousands of dollars on items when i saw taking a short cut through an alleyway the first homeless person I had ever seen. It made me feel extremely guilty that I saw someone living in the cold and with nothing, while I have just spent so much money on items. I also have a massive warm house to go home to that is way to big for us, and could probably house at least a dozen more people in it. I reached into my pockets and I only had notes and my parents card. I gave him a $50 that I had and told him "I hope this helps" and continued on my way to the car.
