@ppy have you considered adding a legacy playfield mode in osu lazer? Idk it might be cool or just a no in your book.
I have a 2007 client and the modern client. that's it.
*I tried a bunch of other ones but they were nothing special, 2013 was decent though
Nepzd we already added "osu!classic" to lazer. one of the primary goals of lazer is compatibility with everything ever made for osu!. i'm not sure if you've noticed, but we don't really do resets or intentionally break compatibility around here.

Wheres a really cool skin where, when you fail, the resume button is locked up and greyed out, with a sign over it saying "$2.99 To Unlock" or something along those lines. It"s really smart, and extremely creative!

Very cool vid ! There were so many things I didn't know about & so many cool little details in each version. It's funny to see how glitchy some maps from today would be back in the days (Weirdest thing was the old slider shapes with new maps). A long but very entertaining vid :D

Seeing the 2008 version brings back so many memories of sitting at my Windows XP computer and playing Touhou songs with a simple Dell mouse/keyboard.

Mid 2015 was when i started to play, I was in grade 9 of high school, I'm 18 and In university now lmao, hearing the start up for the 2015 version gave me such a large rush of nostalgia. This was so endearing to watch

I just started 2 days ago and I was honestly BLOWN AWAY by the smooth and jumpy interface. Heck I have never felt so welcomed after launching the game for the first time and a narrator telling you wtf to do. It is a pleasant experience and I feel like the older versions don't really suit what the game really feels like aesthetically. It's crazy to think how much the game improved to finally get it right.
I remember this passing map for unblocking settings thing. Everyone on this time was just deleting backgrounds ;d

I started osu! in March 2015, pretty good 4 years ago. First skin I had was 2b or not 2b, and first map I played was Faded or Levels Rip Avicii.
Some of the stuff from newer versions was probably crashing because it contained data for modes that didn't exist yet

it's weird to see how much osu! has evolved
I haven't played Osu since 2009-2011ish. Back then it was like a really nice Flash game. Now I'd feel unworthy using such a polished and professional interface.
What are the names of anime in 2009 ver? I have never seen them in my time as a cultured man, but I feel like, with that art style, they'll be popular in the future.
I literally use the 2012 skin cause I’m tired of new skins that look weird and I can now say that I love the 2012 skin and it’s my main skin for osu! I would recommend it if you are trying to fc or get high scores and its way better to look at when you’re playing jump maps or just regular maps.
I started playing osu in 2011 so I'm glad theres some 2011 stuff in there despite the autoupdating client!

i think that it is because in the skin there were files for mania and since osu didnt recognize those files, so it crashed

lazer has different scoring system which is the score multiplier on mods you set and mp4 background video won't work

Jk, I actually love you but it’s so convenient because I literally downloaded and played all the Osu! clients from 2007 to Lazer 2019. Although I downloaded Lazer 2017, 2018, and 2019 clients instead as well
opened osu as i started the video and i thought the music from my game was just background for the video so when i paused it and the music didnt stop i freaked out.

Some of the new maps crash the old osu! sometimes because of floating numbers in the AR or CS or others
Depending on the skin some don't crash osu! and others are not in the center of the click circle

i guess ur spins per minute is so big because of that the game was originally made for pcs running as fast as they could back in the years
Bruh the 2007 editor is hell to try and map with it makes slider velocity impossible to do so the only way to change speed is bpm changes and there are so many other things that aren't in 2007 client for mapping
