Can it be set relative to the speed limit signs the car reads?

Not yet. Visual or sound alerts can be set at or around the speed limit if wanted

+Paul Soames (101uk) Yes it can be set relative to the speed limit signs the car reads and you do it like this:
First you have to have been in cruise already then pull the cruise stalk towards you and hold for a full four seconds (five seconds to be sure). Then release the stalk. When the stalk was released (not before) the cruise speed will change to the last speed limit sign speed the car read.

      You're right. Just tested.

+Paul Soames (101uk) cruise has been updated in v7.1 with some slight changes. Hoping to do a video soon. Still doesn't automatically adjust when you pass a speed sign.

+Tesla EVangelist I have had one problem with v7.1. The speed limit detect somtimes misreads (just as it had on v6.2) on gantry mounted speed signs (the kind that can be changed by someone with the right access as road conditions require, I suspect they are a raster display). This happened to me when the car decided the speed limit was 30 or 60kph when to the human eye it was clearly 80kph. The new change that cruise cannot be set more than 10kph (5mph where applicable) above the last read speed sign meant the car kicked out of cruise. Without a foot on the accelerator regenerative braking meant the speed dropped rapidly until I put my foot back on the accelerator to restore my speed back to 80kph. If I had someone behind me at the time I could have been rear ended. Just something to bear in mind, it is still in beta. Also the perpendicular auto-parking works great (I have yet to get parallel auto-parking to work, I think that may be due to the sloping kerb profile where I live). I wonder if the speed limit misreading problem is anything to do with the mains frequency here being 50Hz rather than the 60Hz that the US has. Perhaps the image integration time needs to be increased a little ?
