I would use a thicker oil with all that clatter - BTW the OEM oil that came in the truck would have been the 5w/20 synth blend that Ford uses - and I still use it in my 2003 navigator... I don't trust going full synth after so so many years with the same oil. - I agree on the Motorcraft filter choice for sure - or a WIX (NAPA) or a Mobile One in a pinch.
So what oil weight should i use for my 03 Lincoln navigator has 174k miles but has no compression on cyl 6 want to run as long as i can until it really dies
@@james4228 if you’ve already got no compression you’ll most likely not last much longer, and adding thicker oil won’t help with compression loss but you could try a couple variations

I think I used 5w-40 or 10w-40 in it at one point

lol 250k+ miles this SUV lost oil pressure sometime later because the timing system failed lol
