I just installed a Zoeller Quiet Check Valve on my Sump Pump last week. What a Huge difference. I don’t hear anything when it shuts off. This is a Great Product.
Getting ready to replace sump pump and check valve but will add a shutoff valve above the check valve for easy replacement of the check valve or sump pump in the future. I believe these two come as a combination (Item Number 30-0049). I also believe this includes a Union Connection that can be unscrewed so the PVC pipe doesn't have to be cut when working on the check valve or pump. We will see if this is true soon.
if you are using the check valve with the PVC flanges on either end (model # 30-0041), how do you measure exactly the length of PVC to cut out of the existing pipe to accommodate the check valve without cutting out too much or too little?
I would take a scrap piece of pvc and fit the piece dry into the flange and mark it. When you pull the piece back out, you will have the measurement and then can figure that amount for each side flange.
Ok thanks. When you say ‘mark it’ how do I know how deep the pipe will go into the flange if I can’t see it? I think the whole check valve runs 7 ~ 9 inches but I’m not positive.
@@anonnone-tg3kl Push the scrap piece all the way into the flange until it bottoms out. Then mark where the outside of the flange is on the pipe. Then pull the pipe out of the flange and measure. I would guess it should be about 1.5 inches.
Awesome video. You made me laugh at many of your comments and reactions. I'm a big time DIYer too. I will get this valve too, seems awesome.

@@stuntcardriver OK I tried that....came out to be more like 1 1/4 inches. appreciate the tip, thanks!
My quiet spring loaded check valve lasted about a year ...spring must have worn out..
Lmao omg id never hire this dude.
Great project! Perfect upgrade. Had to laugh at 3:19 because we were all caught off guard! =D
not all of us...
A single grain of sand wedged near the hinge can destroy these.
Wow! That is amazing! Quite the handyman!
😂that hole you drilled in the side if the valve ...that would no doubt, be my luck. That's why I'm here lol
This is not the way you take out your check valve...lol
Great video, just like when I do a project except I have to run to the store a few more times.
Also should have installed shut off valve above the check valve so you don’t have the same problem next time you need to service it.
Did you use sealant or just the clamps?
Just the clamps, no sealant needed.
@@stuntcardriver what size clamps or coupling did you use... the 1-1/2 seems too small to fit my 1-1/2” pvc line?
Hysterical!
Ace Hardware has good prices
Lmao...
😂😂😂😂😂
