I was lucky enough to see one of Black Sabbath's retirement tours Slayer, Pantera and Entombed opened up the show. WHAT!!!! All I can say is Heaviest show ever.
"It must be Paul, because he has hair." Paul should have stuck to Forbidden, that's Dave Lombardo and he's like the John Bonham of thrash and helped inspire/create death metal.
yeah i just wrote that lombardo and bonham are my 2 fav drummers.. maybe they have something similar?? i play guitar.. i just played drums for entertainment like 2 years
Swaggy, this is probably their least heavy video & it is one of their best songs. You will love the video for Repentless. Very violent prison riot. Can't wait to hear you react to Angel of Death, South of Heaven, Mandatory Suicide, War Ensemble, Reign in Blood & more.
I remember seeing Slayer a few years back, and I had seen them years before and would watch live DVDs and so on. They would never play this song. So I went to the show firmly believing I would not be hearing this. Then in the middle of the set they busted this out and it was one of the rare concert moments where I completely lost my shit and was literally jumping up and down like a kid on a sugar high screaming "YEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!" Unitl I blew my vocal chords and couldn't talk for a week. For anyone wondering the only other time was seeing Iron Maiden and they played Powerslave which had the same effect.
Dave Lombardo & he's now the drummer for Suicidal Tendencies, another band you definitely need to check out. I mentioned them another post about the lead singer of Suicidal being the singer in funk punk groove band Infectious Grooves.
Vote With a Bullet is fun ear candy but just about everything else off of Blind is better. Even "Echoes In the Well". "Damned for All Time" and "Mine Are the Eyes of God" are straight-up shredders.
Gotta do War Ensemble by Slayer. That song is what gets most people into the more thrash metal sound of Slayer. Btw They are one of the best live performances out there in terms of sounding almost exactly like their studio recordings and the fact that there are always at least 2 big mosh pits in the crowd at all times.

Yes kids. 30 years ago thrash metal guitarists were true masters.....lt was last generation of true music passion dudes...😁🤔. Im happy i was teenager that time 🤗.
Honestly, Slayer is not usually for new metal fans. Most people get put off by their straight up Thrash Metal sound at first. So this is the perfect time for you to be reacting to them. Every other reaction channel I watch always do like 1 or 2 songs by them and never go back... Then again, I blame the fans as well because they always suggest stupid songs like Raining Blood and Angel of Death for first timers.
And that's when they're not requesting anything crazier like Amon Amarth or Fleshgod Apocalypse. I know, man, I read the comment section at times and literally say out loud "What the fuck is wrong with you?"
Angel of Death was my first exposure to Slayer back in 1987.. Been a fan ever since. Of course, I was already into Metallica/Megadeth so it was easy for me lol.
@Keith Graham you’re right, I avoided Slayer for a decade because I only knew them from Reign In Blood. Then several months ago I discovered South of Heaven and later Seasons.. now they’re my favorite thrash band by far
seen them many times they never disappoint, the most aggressive thrash band you can get and thier fans support them heavily and defend them to the end its so sad the guitarist jeff past away
Gary holt filled in for jeff hanneman when he was down from a spider bite unfortunately jeff passed in 2013 and gary filled in till slayer retired back in november of last year. Now he is back with exodus his original band you check out blacklist by exodus
I just learned how to play this on guitar last week LOL after seeing a reaction. Love this song. Bro you're rocking now LOL you're hitting the good ones. The only one out of the four you have not hit on yet is anthrax. Please check out one of their newer ones. Repentless. Make sure to check the video version if you do. Thank you brother💪 Dave Lombardo was the drummer for this one. He was the best drummer they ever had. And LOL don't feel terrible. Metal takes time. We'll get you listening to all of it bro
Same band and album... Dead Skin Mask is a must. Freaking creeeeeepy and still gives me goosebumps! Songs about Ed Gein, the original American psychopath!
Check out the Repentless trilogy (You against You, Repentless, Pride in Prejudice) if you want to hear some more recent slayer. They made a mini movie too called The Repentless Killogy. Make sure there's no kids in the room because it's really gory film.

That is Dave Lombardo my friend. One of the early progenitors of, and considered by some The Godfather of double bass drumming. Not to mention his ability to create nice grooves and inventive patterns. He is my favorite drummer. This is one of Slayers mellower songs. They had a video for it, tried to make it closest thing possible to radio-friendly for Slayer. You thought the other fanbases you got are insane. Wait till you get a load of the Slayer fans. I dig all the other bands too. But Slayer and the fans are different type. So many songs I could recommend. Crypts of Eternity, at dawn they sleep, post-mortem, criminally insane. Most people will tell you to do angel of death and Reign in Blood. Which are two fantastic songs. But they have more than just those two.
@Brendan McGlinchey Not only that, I believe Dave even said Mean Gene ushered in (different than inventing) the era of double-bass and taught him everything he knows about it.
You have been introduced to the finest speed metal drummer of all time Dave Lombardo, and you have also heard arguably one of the top 3 greatest metal songs of all time...so your reaction doesnt really surprise me at all...I assume you had those goosebumps up and down your spine right?
