I stay at Afienya, and I work at Ashaiman, Monday to Friday, waking up at 4:30 just to beat traffic. I hope God blesses me with a motorcycle cos it’s not easy 😢
Thank you, Kojo, for highlighting our plight, but chale as for my eyes, blame the traffic ooo. And as I said, staying in traffic for 5-6hours every day is just not sustainable. The impact on the children especially is worrying. I just hope they fix this soon. Yabr3 ooo. Yabr3 #PerspectivesWithLorrencia
Thank you, Sheldon, for raising this issue. I have a house there but had to move into a hostel in Accra just because of the traffic. I used to spend 3-4 hours in traffic, and whenever I visited home, I had to leave as early as 4 a.m to get to Accra. Forget Fridays and Saturdays-by 11 p.m or even midnight, you could still be stuck in traffic while others are already asleep. That road expansion was a scam.
Sheldon, the year 2010.......I chop my graduation rice and chicken inside traffic from motorway to Central University. We left home 5am and we got there when the graduation has ended. A major road that link Ghana -Togo-Nigeria. Its really sad and you have the MP, Ministers and government officials using the same road. They simply don`t care.
The MPs and govt officials Dey go chill for the Ada areas and back every weekend la. U will see them using police escort to evade the traffic. Me if you come Dey my back I no go mind u oo
KSS, please go do a coverage there and interview some of the motorists so they can vent. Just as you did on the motorway. Hopefully, these useless leaders will see and act!
Schooling in the Ashaiman - Tema SHS' was and is a hell. 1hr30mins from Katamanso to Ashaiman. Same from Afienya to Ashaiman. Same from Dahwenya to Ashaiman The students going to Tema continues from there again. Same as students going to Ashaisec and Don Bosco. We used to live home 4 getting to 5 to decrease the minutes. After school, some students get home 8:00 to 9:00. Stressed from school hours, how many minutes are you going to learn. Considering the fact that they would be going to school the following morning. It probably hurts us but no one to complain to. I'm someone who can't sit in a car without getting dissy. Siiting in cars always causes harm to me. After the 1st week, we have to stop and start taking Falaaa. The motorbikes coming from work from Tema and Ashaisec jobsides always pucks us. We have to wash our uniforms every day. Some of this riders dont know how to rufe but we dont have any options. Look at what were Ghanaians are
God bless you for this...We those that come from Ada Foah erh, herhhhh. Sheldon, from Accra to Ada Foah erh, hmmm. My worse experience erh, we left Tudu 6pm, we got to Ada Foah 1am, wahalai😢. So when we going as a family, we go with private car but even with that, you've to leave dawn so that the traffic you'll encounter is minimal, herhhhh! Thanks for the highlight...some of us now, anytime we're going to Ada Foah, i just take off my mind off the length of the journey...
I live there it's very very bad but there is something we need to understand yes there is an MP but the Minister for Roads and Railway is not doing anything. The MP is in opposition so it's actually going to be very hard for him to get the petition to the Ministry for them to come and fix the road
Sometimes I wish we get trains from Afienya to Accra ooo, because as at 5 am there is traffic oo .The funny things is the roads within golf city and Kpone is really bad so there is no alternative path 😢😢.
Sheldon, thank you for this, I used that road two weeks ago and this is serious, herrr left Madina to Ashaiman around 4pm, from Ashiaman to New Ningo, I got to my destination getting to 11pm, I won't lie and the thing is you don't see what's causing the traffic oooo but yet still cars ain't moving on the road.
Even tema motorway start dey get potholes. Labadi road from lapalm be very bad. Imagine staying in traffic from the black star square to Makola. I just asked the driver if i can get down at lotteries and used tema station route by walking. So annoying.
Aswear that be the heaviest traffic for Ghana now…ibi crazy bro. My boss has built his house at Prampran but he’s renting now in Community 7 because of traffic
Thank you for bringing this up!! Im yet to watch it, but im excited that you have seen it and you are talking about it. Hmmmmm. It has had serious economic and mental consequences. It was mafe worse because a lot of people moved here when the government promised a 6 lane road. Now, people have started moving out, back to Accra. The worst part is the silence from government and the roads ministry. It is sad! 😢 Same, or even worse, on the Ashaiman to Akosombo road. These two roads are literally hell on earth!
I feel the woman's pain . I was always late to school even when I leave the house 5am because of the kpone barrier traffic to the extent of even missing out interviews. It is so bad
I live in the USA and find it annoying when people who live here say they are stressed. People are going through worse in Ghana and it’s very sad. I can’t remember waking up at 4 or 5 before because of traffic. Ghana must work better
This dorwenya traffic is hell ,just imagine me moving from Washington to central for a construction project. If you dont leave before 5am then you will get central university around 10 to 12 noon, and you also need to close early. If not and you try 5o close after thrn just forget and sleep inside the car , because you get home around 10pm.
It's very crazy Toooo crazy I from my pappy burial wey I dey come Accra on Monday 11th Nov, just last week. Dingo, chale, the kind of speed I speed with my car just to escape that deadly traffic eer.. but naa!! I got to the CENTRAL UNIVERSITY at 5.08pm and the traffic dey wait for me for there noor. Anyway, I finished crossing the traffic at 9.23pm
From Central UNIVERSITY to Ada will be like x20 of Tema motorway to Central. But you'd spend 3hrs from Tema Motorway to Central UNIVERSITY and spend 1 hr or less to get to Accra.
Kpone katamanso as a whole is a mess. Not to talk of the Micheal Camp stretch. NDC has been in power in this community for 22 years and funny enough, the people continue vote for them because they claim it's their party and trust me they will win again and we will be here in 2028 ranting about this same issue.
I think the people living there should try and change their MP for someone else to help them. If not they're still going to suffer. Because his party isn't in power, he can't lobby for good roads? What was he doing for them when his party was in power? If they still want him in power then that's their own cup of tea. We must hold these MPs accountable than letting them take us for granted
Bro for us driving the trucks,we always dey burn fuel ⛽️ . Nice road dey Afienya to Dawhenya and has been left over 10 years now They don't care about us Same thing happening at Appolonia to Afienya too
When I was in Jhs I used to wake up at 3,4 am just to get to school because if you don’t leave that time man you won’t get to school early and also when you get to school late stupid teacher and soldiers will come and cane you for coming to school later Now when you close you reach home all tried and now you have to wake up at 3,4am again yo start and now we go and be sleeping in class. What is all this? The most annoying thing is when you’re in traffic then the so called big man will come and be passing the middle and be like five way give way Kwasiafo) only you know how to get there early. I just ask my self so no one will stop these foolish fools and ask them to join the line I not sure Ghana I’ll grow with these fools
It's no longer funny, I remember last year I had to welcome the new year in a car on my way to church because of traffic, the most annoying part was I even left home early. From the ashaiman afienya , mataheko, gbetsile road OMG😢, it's hectic. Even on weekends its worse 😢
Lmao Charlie we wey we dey come from Ada dierr herhhhh. That kpone barrier there erhhh, e be crazy pass. But me dierr I hack the traffic. I know when to set off so I can dodge the traffic. 😂😂😂
The last time l took my landlady car to Accra and do something when am coming back hmm because of traffic🚦 l pass some short place and the police arrest me l pay 100ghc before they allow me hmmm is not easy😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
This traffic situation is everywhere in Ghana. Our lack of accountability for poorly constructed roads is one of the reasons why we are facing this crisis. They will expand the road but no maintenance and this situation will still arise
The thing actual starts from the community 25 inside, those coming out of the 25 dier boi, if u want to swerve then come pass the VRA Thermal plant side, where potholes dey like manholes and u chose which manhole to enter, to go commot for Ashaiman timber market.
When you reach Afienya junction, there is a straight road leading to the dawhenya junction If they fix that road ,I promise half of the problem will be solved All this Sam George go come stand that his party in not in power
Some people moving from Dawhenya to Tema 25 just walk to work cuz joining a car is a total waste of time 😂, u go regret am. Immediately they get to the main road they just start walking 😂
By the Grace of God being a Nigerian, I want to ask how a country of just 30 million people experience traffic, is it as a result of poor road network in the country or majority of the population of the country live in Accra?
Very very very stressful!!!!! Its an ecowas highway ! An international highway! The Western corridor! Why cant the government make the effort to do the right thing? It took them years to construct the Pokuase road
Eeeeei Ghana
Unfortunately, this situation is not about to be resolved.
Same applies to the Afienya Michel Camp road. The traffic is too much.

Yes you’re right
I stay at Afienya, and I work at Ashaiman, Monday to Friday, waking up at 4:30 just to beat traffic. I hope God blesses me with a motorcycle cos it’s not easy 😢

There was a day I walked to Bella Acqua from Savannah because i was not getting car. Surprisingly, those who got a car 15mins ahead of time, when I met them at Peace B, still in traffic.
People will not understand. Our situation is very bad.

That traffic eeeh..all the more reason I have decided not to ever relocate there
Had to pass Aburi-Somanya to Ho, just to beat that traffic.
It was like that since 2020 and I was in jhs. Right now I've completed shs and the situation has gotten worse😂
2010*
The distance between my house and office is like 20mins I spend 1hr in the morning and 2hrs after work…crazy
