    You're a great guitar player Jim, I get really depressed when I hear how great you are and I realize how I suck at playing. I don't know what it's going to take but I'll keep plugging away. Great review Jim, you're fantastic. Thank you.

      I know I’m a year late but You just keep practicing man, I’ve been playing for about a year and I’ve been practicing a lot everyday and I’ve seen how much I progress every month

    Great playing Jim. I was very surprise how good that Guitar sounds, I tend to turn my nose up at a Floyd Rose Strat, but all around really solid instrument

    Si la quiero, justo una de este modelo, ando tras de ella y la conseguiré no importa si me cuesta un año o más para poder comprarla

    Great stuff! The middle pickup with overdrive and a boost pedal is MONEY! Made Trower a living for decades!

      they could add a boost+tbx and neck +bridge pickup as single coils together instead of this useless S1 (so boring )

    Ceramic or alnico pickups ?`I read it was alnico IV for the bridge pickup but about the other pickups I don't know I suppose alnico V

    the sustain depends on the sustain block too (but we don't know what is all about)

    I could almost swear that Steve Miller uses the middle pickup in his song "The Stake". This is a killer Strat and am on the fence about pulling the trigger.

    I have a question that's burning for me....how does this compare to the Charvel USA Select SD HSS FR? The context I'm considering is I want something that is most well rounded. I assume the Fender, but the Charvel is a tough looking instrument and I would have a tough time deciding.

    • @orion681
      @orion681 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      ...and to further elaborate, I'm speaking more of tone than feel. I'm assuming that both of the instruments I mentioned are well made and taylored toward modern technique, so I could get used to a slightly thicker neck or something like that.

      You should definitely play an instrument in this price range before buying. I don't know the Charvel, so can't say anything about it, and I won't say anything about tone, since that's completely down to personal preference. When I was in the market for a HSS strat about 10 years ago, I tried many different models and ended up buying the G&L Legacy HSS (USA). This is one or two notches up in terms of build refinement compared to regular Fender America Instruments at roughly the same price point (depending on the options you choose, since they build it to your specs like Fender custom shop). The reason I mention this guitar is that its G&L trem holds tuning at least as well as my PRS with Floyd Rose, without all the hassle. I actually consider selling the PRS exactly for this reason, the FL is a huge pain in the butt. The G&L floating trem (I think they call it dual fulcrum vibrato) works perfectly fine with a standard bone nut and tunes with regular tuners, you can down-tune it on the fly like a hard tail, is much, much easier to restring and it stays in tune just as well as the FL. This is obviously just my personal experience with this one guitar, I can't say anything about overall quality control etc. but I had mine for 10 years without any issues and without a single trip to the luthier. That's more than I can say for my PRS @ twice the price. I'm not trying to sell you a G&L, but I would at least check out their website and look at the options they offer.

    I think the ultra hss (without The floyd ) can be good too

    • @phenixreturns

      @@bossman1208 the Floyd Rose needs a big pressure of the hand
      it's boring
      Lukather has not that
      Beck has not that and what a blast !

      @@phenixreturns The only reason I’d want a Floyd on my guitar is for tuning stability, but other than that floating trems can do the the job 🙂

    Where can I get one Aluminium pickguard for an HSS and floyd rose strat??

  • @jasontarlowe9564

    Did you have to keep adjusting the volume knob bc it won’t stay in place? I tried it and want to like it but that knob just made me almost hate it, and the fret buzz was horrible. My guitar guy got the neck perfectly straight but said he couldn’t get rid of the buzz without relieving the tension. Could that possibly be just a problem with stainless steel frets and Fender not having enough experience with stainless yet - kinda like a 1st model year car?

    • @nickpayne1056
      @nickpayne1056 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Fret material isn't going to affect buzz. Neck relief, action, string tension, and nut height (when playing open strings) affect buzz. If your guitar guy set the neck to be perfectly straight then that might be the cause, guitar necks are supposed to have some relief.

  • @alexzaytsevguitar

    Hi, does it have German Floyd rose or Korean?

  • @phenixreturns
    @phenixreturns 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The problem of the hss is we must add a boost pedal to sound like CLapton :))
    a single coil is not enough for every situations but hsh is not very good to sound blues funk like Nile Rodgers
    so no boost
    so add a boost !
