There was a rare example of a studio being the hero and nixing a sequel to It's A Wonderful Life. Also Google Nick Cave's script for Gladiator 2- if you think this trailer is weird boy are you in for a shock!
I know it's intended to be but some of the stylistic choices in both Gladiator and seemingly in it's sequel are just not reflective of what Rome would have really looked and felt like. That's more what I meant with my critique. Also yes, you are correct, Caracalla and Geta were brothers who were intended to share the rule. I wasn't aware of that actually until you mentioned it. This is admittedly a time of Roman history I'm not as familiar with in terms of Emperors. My Roman Emperor knowledge gets foggy pretty quickly after Augustus.
Could be an interesting sequel if is made right, hope is made right. In the trailer I don't like the modern music they used, actually was a poor decision because don't work with the theme of the movie, I really pray that they don't use modern music in the movie too.
3:45 To answer that question? Money and people would honestly still be bickering and nitpicking about that, too. The longer i live, i realize that human society is very hypocritical, and there is absolutely no satisfying the masses.
Fede Alvarez who directed Alien Romulus said that Ridley wasn’t happy that they made a sequel to his late brother’s movie Top gun. I think Ridley just wants to make another gladiator before he passes, dudes almost 90. He had also said he regretted stepping down from blade runner 2049.
Since Gladiator is a known property it already has a built-in audience and since Paramount is in a lot of debt and trying to sell itself why not capitalize on a safe bet with a known property.
We know Russell Crowe didn’t ask for this. When asked he said he was “slightly uncomfortable” with the sequel. 😅 That said I enjoy these epic type films and will watch it when it’s streaming on one of subscription services.
107k likes to 164k dislikes is well deserved. This movie doesn't look like it even belongs in the same continuation as Gladiator (2000). Everyone looks out of place, especially Denzel with his American accent and mannerisms, the costumes look too clean and sterile, and the tone of the trailer tells me the writing will be just as immature and ridiculous.
I'm in love with the cast and the trailer made me excited in a way because the first one was Oscar winning epic......BUT it's been 25 years 😂😂😂🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. It's like the bad boys franchise....if you wait too long in between sequels aside from the atypical money making nostalgia factor....it just seems desperate, random, and disinteresting AF because of that aspect which speaks to Warner Bros and other major studios even more with the attempt to try make back so much money they lost the last several years even though WB have had some comeback victories the last year especially with Barbie. And seeing Denzel in ancient Rome just throws me off because he still gives me that training day swagger no matter what time period he's in. I'm just waiting for him to drop that king kong line in the colosseum 😂😂😂🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾, BUT still Pedro and Denzel in a movie together with Ridley Scott directing 🔥🔥🔥....i mean I hope it does well or at least breaks even 🙏🏾🙏🏾.
No one. But Tom and company clearly knew what they were doing. We could see the greatness of Top Gun Maverick in the trailers. This looks like cheap and forgettable garbage
What's an unnecessary sequel you'd love to see Hollywood try and make? 🤔
How about a sequel to "Boo-Boo Bunnies From Outer Space"? Actually, I just made that up, so it could be the basis for an original screenplay!
Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey
Wait, they what!?!

Mouse Hunt
Forrest Gump 🖖🏾
Loved the first Gladiator movie. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much on this second one. On the other hand. It's a Ridley Scott movie.
This move IS about Ancient Rome. Caracas and Geta are the two Roman emperors.

I wanted Denzel to drop a _My man_ in the trailer 😆
the music for this trailer was not it

Amanda, don't care what you do, I will watch it just for you. Thanks for being there.

@@Sunstar808 who cares what he thinks when he passed movies will still be made 🤣🤣🤣
@@TyTyBryant I was responding to the video title and something I read about Russell.
@@Sunstar808 he’s almost 100 years old ofc we don’t want him in gladiator 2
@@TyTyBryant Chileee I was trying to inject humor. Russell passed in the flick anyway and I don’t think they have force ghosts in this franchise. 😅
At 60 Russell Crowe is 9 years younger then Denzel Washington 🖖🏾
This will be a good streaming movie.
Loved everything about this trailer even the music was badass
Hi Amanda have a great day and love your voice 😍
Must be a John Carter, from Mars script out there that shouldn't be made!
I love Emperors Geta and Caracalla
Got me with Denzel ✊🏾Staying Nerdy 🖖🏾
Was she having a stroke 🤣🤣🤣
That most unnecessary cringe sèquel ever especially the music is awful

Why? This trailer did not showcase any of these actors well. The movie looks so cheap and forgettable
Who asked for a Top Gun sequel?
fuckin A

@@LukeLovesRose LOL. It looks like the first one.
@@kindofbluenyc Not even close
@@LukeLovesRose I'm afraid I have to disagree. They're both cheesy, epic historical fantasy. "Are you not entertained?" But that's why they're fun.
Pedro Pascal? Again? Are there no other actors????? And this is garbage btw. Love your optimism but, nah.
He is in everything these days...
I can see this movie will be a bomb I'm not interested in seeing it in the cinema I will wait until it's on the likes of Netflix etc
There are so many studio shills and plants pushing this cheap, forgettable, straight to video crap down our throats, it's incredible
I dont think you know what you're talking about LMAO
We really didn't need this
