I just bought one and now have done some gigs with it. I love this guitar. My need for a hybrid is acoustic tones with and electric feel. One thing I think people thinking about this guitar no one here on youtube is addressing. This guitar comes with stainless steel fretz. My first. As people get is these fretz barley wear. ok but problem with this guitar is they are very high fretz with a filing that brings it to almost a point. ok fine but using light gauge strings it almost a scalloped guitar. I am going to have fretz crowned the way I like then this guitar is sooo awesome.
I want to know the makeup and settings of the pedals Wayne is using on this demo. Although that guitar is phenomenal, the pedals/settings are instrumental (pun intended!) in getting all those custom tones. Great demo of a fabulous guitar by a fabulous artist!
Does Taylor have a booklet or an online page telling us how to combine different pedals with the correct settings on the pedals and on the guitar to get all these sounds? I'd love to get one of these hybrids, but I just know I'd never be able to figure out how to get all the sounds that Mr. Johnson is getting. Otherwise, without some directions, I think this guitar would be a little too ambitious; especially for the price points.
I think I'm in love. I'm an acoustic guy, but someday I want to try out the possibilities offered by electrics. I haven't figured out electric instruments yet, but when I'm ready, this sounds like an awfully good way to go. Hmmm Are there acoustic guys who do a "plugged" album?
I have tons of videos on my channel with GS Mini Martin Junior and the original Acoustasonic Stratocaster with looping. Purely acoustic player. Got the new Acoustasonic Tele but returned it. Might go T5z. I'm 5'5 and the T5 was too big for me. If the tele was good out of the box I would've kept it but it had some pickup issues. But my channel has a bunch of modifiers with acoustic guitar. Reach out if you have Qs
Taylor T5z, PRS with piezo, etc. All of the demos for these types of guitars spend about 20 seconds playing the actual acoustic setting then move on to using the magnetic pickups alone or mixed with the acoustic sensors. Why is this? It's because, in all honesty, they are sub par when it comes to sounding like an acoustic. Sure, they sound decent at a glance but play a lot of different acoustic styles on these guitars and you start to see that they don't live up to the claims. Having said that, it's true purpose is in a live situation where you have to switch from acoustic to electric a lot. but don't be aware, they do not sound like true acoustic and you will notice this the more you play them.
What an amazing guitar! How much fun would it be to have one of these and jam across so many styles and tonal ranges! Too bad the Acoustic Letter host looks...'strained' is perhaps a polite way to express my observation.
Awesome demo...beautiful guitar
this cat is a sensational demo king
loved the guitar playing on this video, Wayne made it happen!
So love Wayne's improv on this...really cool guys, thanks. :)

Love that jazz tone.
I don’t understand why this guitar didn’t catch on more. I love mine.
For me this may be the coolest guitar that Taylor makes. I'd love to have one, but alas it's way out of my league price-wise.
I just started looking at these. Yes ... they are pricey. It looks like there are plenty of used T5s and T5zs out there on Reverb, Guitar Center, etc.
I really enjoyed this video, really, I also noted the face of happiness on the host, that's how I felt too. Thank you!
Wow that first 2:30 was super important information lol. Never heard that in any other video
Best demo ever! I see my next guitar, thinking about a T5 DLX....thanks Wayne
What a guitar! I came here just to hear one :)

My dream guitar 😍. Too expensive though 😭
Will a 40" cutaway acoustic sound differ from a 41" cutaway acoustic guitar?
great review!!
Excellent sound.the player wasn't bad either. It takes both to get something that sweet sounding.
Guitar, is cool. In addittion The guitar player thats súper cool!!!
Wayne plays the stew out that thang mayng.!
Can't help but think that would sound a lot better with a wound G...a plain G on that sounds pretty tinny.
Yo man.... awesome 😍... guitar
I may have just started but this guitar may be a grail guitar for me XD
