I love that clock!! No batteries, no electricity, true mechanics with some physical umph on our part🙂 Extrodinary place beautifully presented to us by you- thank you 💗
These series are fabulous…I usually get a little bored with documentaries, but not these!!!!!!….How wonderful and refreshing…Julie has a way of bringing out the best in people, sorta like being with a special friend you haven’t seen for ages then reunite.
I do believe behind Mapperton, Pentillie Castle is my second favorite you’ve visited. Sammy and her family do such a wonderful job procuring Pentillie’s history and aesthetic. Absolutely breathtaking! And the respite for veterans they have created, simply wonderful and such a blessing. Can’t wait for your next adventure! ❤️
Thank you so much! Deans Court up next and please do spread the word and send the link to our TH-cam channel as we need ppl to watch in order to make more episodes. Thank you!
Well the right family inherited this house. They have ambition, enthusiasm, love for this wonderful estate. Thank you for sharing Julie. Wonderful vlogs.
Donna here - writing on husband's computer - I've just found your channel this week and am greatly enjoying it - watching from the coast of South Carolina.
Well done winding the clock,Julie!! How wonderful to see the "Red Book" of the landscape artist!!!! Fabulous visit to Pentillie Castle!! Love from Vermont
I really am loving this series. The music and the imagery (especially that beautiful scenery in your swim and yoga session) You are a natural host, engaging and so articulate. So looking forward to more of these videos. As an American fascinated with British history, your videos are a dream come true! Literally
Thank you so much! Please do share this series with your friends. We need more ppl to watch in order to continue to film at these historic homes. thank you!!
Historical Tower Clock Winding, another item for your CV. Hi Julie, always lovely to see you. I was mad for the Red Book, with the clever flap detail ! Patricia. America
Such a joy and gift, these videos r exactly what we need, on these cold winter nights. Loving seeing u guys, evolving and thriving the energy is contagious ❤
What another great estate series! Loved the pics of the early morning swim - the mist/fog give the background an interesting look. Looking forward to the next series. Thanks
That was truly beautiful Julie and I so look forward to the next episode! What a stunning place and warm, lovely people! Thank you for sharing with us!
Sloe aka Blackthorn, related to rose family & plums/cherries family. Native to Europe, West Asia & NW Africa. There are some Eastern North America. Best cook before eating. Used as flavoring in whisky, wine, preserves, syrup & choclate
I have been watching your show on the Smithsonian channel and I’m obsessed! I laughed out loud when you said that you relate cutting grass to a more peaceful life stage. I am no aristocrat, but I cut grass for over a decade growing up in Indiana and dreamed of growing up and getting out.. and now after living in uptown Chicago for 8 years I’d pay someone to cut their grass for the exact same reason! It’s funny how that works
Thanks to a happy coincedence I just happen to be reading a fantasy novel (The "Throne of Glass" series by Sarah J. Maas) and in it an ancient, stand-alone clock tower plays a central role. The author did a good job of describing it but now I have an even clearer picture of it thanks to this video. Hopefully Pentillie Castle's clock tower does not contain a secret entrance to a dungeon complex in which all manner of skulduggery takes place.
you really jump right in no matter what comes at you. I wonder if your average British girl would do the same. Not judging, we're on 2 different sides of the pond. I'm an American too. I can imagine your arms hurt the day after. Nice series of videos. Will there be a 4th. I'm still waiting for that sloe gin sip. It seems to me that you made a nice new friend. Waiting to see what you come up with next.
