- Bang Nom Kho Temple is a royal temple belonging to the Maha Nikaya Sangha. Located in Village No. 3, Ban Hua Phai, Bang Nom Kho Subdistrict, Sena District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. There is a total area of 24 rai 21 wa 3 ngan.
When was Bang Nom Kho Temple built? There is no clear evidence. Some say that it existed in the late Ayutthaya period, formerly known as Wat Nom Kho, but in 1767, the Burmese enemies besieged Ayutthaya. Came to set up a camp in Sikuk Subdistrict. Away from Bang Nom Kho Temple There are more cows raised in that area than anywhere else. The Burmese took the opportunity to forcibly take cattle from this area as supplies. Ayutthaya eventually lost to the Burmese. Therefore, Bang Nom Kho Temple has become somewhat dilapidated over time. Later it was rebuilt and there are still many cows being raised. The villagers then affectionately called it "Wat Bang Nom Kho"
Bang Nom Kho Temple is revered by people all over the country. With the kindness of Phrakhru Wihan Kitchanukan (Pan Sonontho), he has deep knowledge in all aspects. From Dhamma, meditation, traditional medicine Including creating various sacred objects such as talisman armor and clay amulets. Filled with itthi powder of Luang Phor Pan. This is the only version that he created and consecrated himself. He received the knowledge of making these various Buddha images from Chi Pa Khao. which is a Buddha image that is unlike any other Buddha image
The temple has a mandap of Luang Pho Pan which has a statue, relics, and a wax figure of Luang Pho housed inside. The chapel at Luang Pho Pan, built in 1924, is surrounded by golden Sema leaves. In front is a statue of Luang Phor Pan. There is a mural recording the events when His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit visited. Her Majesty the Queen and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Princess Sirindhorn Debaratanasuda His Majesty traveled to Bang Nom Kho Temple on December 7, 1974. Inside was enshrined a Buddha image named Buddha Sonanda Behind the chapel is Phra That Chedi, which Luang Pho Pan built to replace the old one that was dilapidated. It is the origin of the creation of the first version of the Buddha image. The image of Lord Buddha sitting on a throne above seven different animals in 1907 is very famous. Bang Nom Kho Temple holds a ceremony to pay homage in remembrance of His Majesty Luang Pho Pan every July 26th.
