All I've gotten from this season is that 50s Betty is horny as hell and Archie is dim but sweet. It almost feels like the show got renewed for a final season but the writers had already done so many crazy sh*t that they don't know what to do as a send off for it. Man I am going to miss watching Alex slowly lose his mind each time a new season of this show airs as there's just something so special about these vids that never fail to make me laugh/smile.
From what I remember the show runner wanted to do a lot of decades hoping for the final season, so they'll start in the mid 50s then to the 60s, 70s, and so on and so on, but my guess is that CW said "NO"
The biggest praise i can say about Alex is that he managed to watch every single Riverdale episode thay consists of 7 seasons and 128 episodes so far for the sake of our entertainment in this review 😂😂

As someone who was a fan of the original Archie comics, I am so conflicted on this season. Cause like this was the Riverdale I wanted when it first came out years ago. This is the characterization I wanted, just in a modern setting. But after establishing themselves as their own thing and having their own ridiculous highs and lows, I accepted the new Riverdale for what it was…..only for them to give me the version I expected years ago in its final season??? I definitely prefer this version of the cast but it feels weird after seeing Archie stop a meteor with his abs.

Me neither, the first season at least told a mostly coherent story, but afterwards, it just descended into chaos, like the writers were blatantly making things up as they went along.

Betty's story sounds like its simply a retelling of the urban legend of the woman who refused to take her hair out of a bun and a black widow spider laid eggs in her hair and ate into her brain.

I think the problem now is that we went through several seasons of Riverdale being off the wall insane and unhinged with it's writing and they choose now, the final season, to tone everything down and be normal 😂.

OMG, I remember that urban legend about the beehive hairdo! The story always went that this girl got a beehive hairdo, and didn't want it for several weeks, and that's when the spiders settled in. So funny that Riverdale did a throwback to an old urban legend like that.
So I was at a Comicon recently and met one of the designers on the Riverdale. They proceeded to tell me some stories specifically about the actor K.J Appa (Archie) going into Granville, Vancouver to the bars, getting DAF and hitting on people's girlfriends because he is ''famous''; as a result the makeup department was well known for attempting to hide his black eyes. LOL ;p
Tbh this season has made me laugh the most and as someone that used to be a die hard fan I will say I definitely will miss how crazy the show can get and waiting for Alex to say exactly what we are all thinking 🙏🏾thank you for covering this wild crazy wacky show🤣

I honestly was expecting them to do this retro vibe for maybe five episodes, half way through the season and we haven't had a single mention of the comet since like episode two. I'm going to crack up laughing if they genuinely just end on them as teens in the past and never address getting back to the present day (well, what should've been 2025 given their graduation year) again.
Season 1 and 2 were so enjoyable to watch. After Season 3 it was a rollercoaster to hell but as the show went crazier the more I sympathized with the characters or rather the actors and actresses. I have a special place in my heart for Madeleine, Vanessa and Lili🥺 I really hope to see more projects from them (or hopefully some collaborations!) As Cheryl was my favorite character, I think she lost her "bite" with each season. I mean in the first two seasons she was this huge mean girl who went softer by the time to the point where she was this almost shy person? Oh boy and the last episode...I don't know how to feel about it but I just love the dynamic of the crew...
Can we all give props to Alex for using a plushie for a 16 minute video? 😃 If you need something that is well- less weird than Riverdale, try the Nancy Drew series. (not the 90s series. That was perfect. 😤) I don’t mind if a show doesn’t take itself seriously, as long as the writing can back it up. The one thing that I wish they did stick with was a paranormal series, were it _was_ taken seriously, with good writing, and writers.
I gave up actually watching Riverdale around season 3, but I've been enjoying your recaps. Though, I must say, the EC Comics-inspired episode (Tales from the Crypt, Vault of Horror, Haunt of Fear, etc.) and the homages to all the struggles with the Comics Code back in the day has me intrigued!
I’m coming to the video late but I just gotta say I kinda love the psychiatrist being a blatant parody of Fredric Wertham. He was a prominent psychologist in the 50s who was avidly against comic books and got a lot of parents on board because of his book Seduction of the Innocent. This is what lead to comics self censoring and being video goofy during the 50s and 60s. While this hurt books like Batman, it’s actually what lead to the popularity of books like Archie in the first place.
i have said for YEARS that the second riverdale stop airing, people are going to love it and it will be in the upper echelon of camp with glee. from what i can tell from where this season goes so far, apparently they might make it NARRATIVELY good too?? im obsessed already

As Cheryl was my favorite character, I think she lost her "bite" with each season. I mean in the first two seasons she was this huge mean girl who went softer by the time to the point where she was this almost shy person? Oh boy and the last episode...I don't know how to feel about it but I just love the dynamic of the crew...

Can we all give props to Alex for using a plushie for a 16 minute video? 😃 If you need something that is well- less weird than Riverdale, try the Nancy Drew series. (not the 90s series. That was perfect. 😤) I don’t mind if a show doesn’t take itself seriously, as long as the writing can back it up. The one thing that I wish they did stick with was a paranormal series, were it _was_ taken seriously, with good writing, and writers.

I gave up actually watching Riverdale around season 3, but I've been enjoying your recaps. Though, I must say, the EC Comics-inspired episode (Tales from the Crypt, Vault of Horror, Haunt of Fear, etc.) and the homages to all the struggles with the Comics Code back in the day has me intrigued!

I’m coming to the video late but I just gotta say I kinda love the psychiatrist being a blatant parody of Fredric Wertham. He was a prominent psychologist in the 50s who was avidly against comic books and got a lot of parents on board because of his book Seduction of the Innocent. This is what lead to comics self censoring and being video goofy during the 50s and 60s. While this hurt books like Batman, it’s actually what lead to the popularity of books like Archie in the first place.
