Hope and prayers for a healthy bundle of joy.
My little brother passed away the day before thanksgiving.
I went through the last text messages we sent each other. And he had sent me this song. I’m not much of an Elton John fan, but this song means so much to me now. And listening to over and over I can’t believe such a beautiful song can make me feel so sad.
My sympathies for your sorrow. My daughter-in-law's father passed away a few hours before Thanksgiving. Grief knows no timetable.
Sorry about your loss this song is very meaningful , my teenager song loves it
Ruddy Perez I'm sorry for your loss
Sorry for the lost of your brother
It’s a beautiful and pure song. Sorry for your loss
The scene of the woman clutching her sobriety coin and crying at the liquor store crushes my heart. Alcoholism is a daily battle and I pray for all those who suffer.
Let's keep them in our prayers please I have a daughter going though alcoholism as well had been clean for 1 year. Still struggling with it.❤ Thanks for your comment
its hard for me, by far my number one issue in life. so many bad decisions and health effects. yet still i drink. i tell everyone i want to quit, i struggle.
Real! 🤘
@@thugnarsty stay strong dude! It's a lot harder than people act!
yes! I would never have understood that scene except for two dear friends who are very active in their AA community and are always rejoicing when someone gets their coin!
My boyfriend back in highschool, 1977, he bought me every Elton John album and this was our favorite song. He passed away today. I am playing it for him.❤❤
Funny this song is about touching themselves. In my hand explained everything.
Toprağı bol olsun...
Condolences dear sad to hear as ive been in mourning for quite sometime of not my parents passing cousins Aunts, friends alike but my son for his earthday be in 4days whenever I hear this song it just strikes me as I'm texting now it's playing I'm holding back my tears😢.

Maybe, but there are quite a few blacks living in LA, and they don’t get much screen time here. That said, I absolutely love the video.

The whole point of the video I think is that the song transcends any person or any emotion. It can be happy or crushingly sad. It can represent freedom or represent imprisonment. This is more interesting than what would have been just another love song music video.
not black people though. They must hate this song!

If it wasn’t for this song, I probably wouldn’t exist. My dad pursued my mom for months without any luck. One night, he sat in her room while she put on makeup for a date with another boy. My dad was persistent lol. This song came on, and he asked her to dance. She felt a type of way about him during that dance that she didn’t feel before. The rest is history. Thanks, Elton! 😂

I'll never forget this song was used in a commercial for a hospital show and the song was used for a micro-preemie, where they had hope the baby would make it. I had given birth to our daughter about 2 weeks prior to this, and I bawled my eyes out as my daughter was a 2 lb/913 grams micro-preemie born at 26 weeks. I was 16 when my grandma passed. I got a old 1970s record player from her. She used to turn it on and clean house every Sunday. She had Johnny cash, CCR, Eagles and a lot more records. One day after she passed I went to her house and opened up that old record player. I turned it on. I wandered. What was the last song she cleaned to? Before she got sick and passed away ya know? Tiny dancer. On a 45. I was 16 years old crying like a baby. But now it’s almost 4 years later and this song still gets to me. God damn I love Elton John.

My mom gave me and my siblings all a Elton John song and she gave me Tiny Dancer. She would always tell me how much our songs meant and I never fully understood the importance of them until last year, when my mom passed away in July. With her birthday coming up a piece of her will always be left and with these songs it’s always so easy to think of her and the mark she will always have on us❤
I’m so glad that instead of making this video about just the song, they also made it about how it makes us feel. Bittersweet, dreamy, happy, poignant.

The tune. It's happy. It's sad. It's everything. A perfect song in every situation.
Yes it's everything...including Satanic. As I recall, Elton is on record saying witch language is in all his songs. In this song he puts down men of God, and talks about a woman who is IN HIM. That appears to be Satanic. It's called necromancy.

It really is ART supporting commerce and nostalgia, in pretty much equal measure. When I get weary, and the way the world is going gets me down, I can watch these marvelous freaks and average folks and be glad for what we have. Have had. May soon lose - but have for now.
Canzone di una bellezza straordinaria! E pensare che pur ascoltando Elton John da decenni, l'ho scoperta solo quest'anno! È la sua migliore canzone, non mi stanco mai di ascoltarla.
The lady contemplating her sobriety ….. hit me like a ton of bricks. Elton has been very open about his recovery. I get it.
Same here mate. The message is powerful. This whole video is life stories. Just brilliant.
I so get it ❤
1970
Hard samesies. Her crying in the car guts me everytime
My mum was a seamstress and a prima ballerina in the 70s...she was friends with folks who knew Elton and would always joke that perhaps she inspired this. True or not, I like to think that is true. She passed away at 49 15+ years ago, but I still cry happily when I hear this song. It will always be about her to me.
Nice story dear Tori. Blessings!
Tori Marinucci it’s actually about his daughter......
@@marshallbookersfunlife3431 that's not the point.
@Marshall.... Elton does not have a daughter.
Elton doesnt write the lyrics so god knows
Love this song it says a lot about people struggling with life
Almost a month now being sober and clean. Planning for a year or even more by God's grace. I know I can do it. This song kinda melts my heart everytime I listen to it. Stay safe and healthy people ❤
Hang in there, Naobiee, rootin' for ya.
One day at a Time💙
me too 🥰
Lyrics
Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand
Jesus freaks out in the street
Handing tickets out for God
Turning back she just laughs
The boulevard is not that bad
Piano man he makes his stand
In the auditorium
Looking on she sings the songs
The words she knows, the tune she hums
But oh how it feels so real
Lying here with no one near
Only you and you can hear me
When I say softly, slowly
Hold me closer tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today
Hold me closer tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today
Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand
But oh how it feels so real
Lying here with no one near
Only you and you can hear me
When I say softly, slowly
Hold me closer tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today
Hold me closer tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today
